I love this guy, he’s an inspiration to his people, and more importantly he is representative of his people. Politics aside, isn’t this how it should be?

SRV, Mary had a little lamb is my favourite guitar shop jam, with a nice pentatonic solo after the main riff. Simple, easy, sounds epic an can be played smoothly enough to convince the salesmen* its worth letting you near the nice stuff.

    *Always men!

Unless you’re playing some mad ibanez metal machine type thing, in which case only van halens panama will do. Not flashy, none of that double tapping nonsense, just good, solid, 80’s rock!

in 2001 my mum gave me £30 a week (my dad paid my rent, loan paid the fees). I was reasonably wealthy with that, as I’d always worked part time as well and was used to having money in my pocket. I got a job pretty much straight away, paying about £35 a week (SU Bar), so I stopped the money from my mum then.

If it were my kids (who are 6months and 3, so it doesn’t reotally apply yet), I’d support with large purchases (text books best bought from amazon for not quite latest edition!), sports society membership/trips/train pass etc and perhaps use one of those asda (other supermarkets available) pre paid cards where you can top it up, he can spend it, that way you know he won’t starve, you’re not neglecting him, but all your hard earned money isn’t being spent on cheap ganj and tequila.

at the bottom of this page is an advert for chain reaction cycles extra 10% off accessories. If you click it you get

“No items match your search for “Extra 10% off Accessories”

This says it all! I don’t use CRC anymore, its too much like hard work, while plenty of small, real world shops are offering good prices and easy to navigate websites!

Forex is the way forward for currency trading, but you might as well put all the money into the casino, you may get similar returns!

I watch the markets and buy currencies for countries I will be visiting, trying to buy £100 here and there at good rates, on the grounds that I don’t lose out massively as I would have bought currency at the days rate before holiday anyway!

SCC999, gutted by the specifics of that, a little glimmer of hope that the data screens in ambulances might be illegal (they are dangerous and distracting) and I could have some weekend fun with management! Oh well, back to moaning about broken seat bases!

To be fair, some of her drawings and paintings are rather beautiful, but you don’t see them often. Much like lichenstein’s painting that don’t involve dots or pollock not throwing paint around. Artists are often known (musicians to if you think about it) for one or two pieces of work that define them, wether they like it or not. If you need to keep your name in the public eye to sell art and fill galleries then you need to talk about what people know in order to show them what you like. People expect Emin to be a bit of a ****, and that is the persona she has to present, otherwise people will not talk about her, not book her for TV shows/ magazine articles/ galleries, the value of her art plummets and the aspiration to own “controversial art” disappears. Emins unmade bed is art, because it was made by an artist and bought by an art collector, My unmade bed is a mess! Consider the up coming auction for the drums played on definitely maybe (link)[/url] a nice drum kit, but not £15k worth. people like the association, the expression of wealth and the inclusiveness of “getting it”.

In short, Emin was booked for Newsnight and radio 4 because she’s guaranteed to be a bit odd and offend. She has managed this, you are talking about her, I now know that Emin is an odd and offensive artist, I buy a book about her work and pay to go to her gallery because liking challenging art makes me look sophisticated and cool to art school girls. In the book/ gallery I find some of her other work that is quite good, but not weird/ offensive etc. Emin shares her work, I share my money. Everybody wins

easier than that, just pull on hand brake whilst driving, maybe combined with a downshift for rapid speed scrubbing with no brake lights. Some people just deserve to be rammed though and I take great pleasure in following c-spine protocols on minor bumps and having whiplash cars cut open. If a patient says they have neck pain and tingling sensations in limbs, who am i to question it?

Mountain bikes are a bad idea at the moment, too much uncertainty about wheel sizes and fear of trails coming alive (and presumably consuming me like a giant tongue?). Not wanting to invest in the betamax of MTB (thanks combined shifters/ levers preventing V brake uptake and QR wheel set limiting fork options) I’d sell all my kit, buy a vintage track bike and some mismatched carbon rims and hang out at the track for a few years working your dream job. Then quit, buy a 26′, flat barred, aluminium (its the next niche) framed 3×8 geared mtg and then ride BW’s following paper maps in the Hills.

Greens are lovely, but they are a bit like an environmental BNP. They have no sensible policy, just lots of nice ideas. Main plans for education involve solar panels on the school roof and environmental science lessons. Like I say, nice and good ideas, but not politically viable in the current climate.

Friends don’t let friends but old ambulances. Fixed on the cheap, electrics chopped, chopped again and again and again, parts replaced with parts off other ambulances, absolutely ragged for 300k thirsty, dirty, worn out and ugly. Also no walk through ambulances since about 2000 as standard now require sold bulkheads. Other problems to worry about… Expensive to fix air bag suspension systems, expensive ramp systems, lights and sirens have to be removed and the roofs/doors/ windows often leak.

Not to put you off, but after 11 years of driving the things I’d not recommend them for anything else. They are specialist vehicles and as such not as good a base as you’d expect! Maybe look for a van based horse box to convert or a box van?

I have both. Prefer the spoon, which is on my commuter bike, gets lots of use in all weather for endless miles in normal shorts/ Jeans etc. Ace. Bel air is ok, in an OEM kinda way. inoffensive but nothing exciting, though if they still do the zebra print ones I could be tempted!

I’ve been electrocuted twice. Once drilled through a wire that went to next doors house via our kitchen wall, the other time I wired a male/ female connecter up with male side live.

I think you’ve answered this already, if its a works machine then do what you’ve got to do, if money/spec is important to you then don’t bother with the RAM upgrade, just order new RAM from crucial and put it in yourself. Loads cheaper and easy easy job.

Yeah mkiv golf, tt, Cupra, s3, vrs all ran the 1.8t in 150 to 225 bhp, replaced by the 2.0fsi I think, apparently smoother but less nuts? Paramedic mr pimp, not sure I could be trusted to be a police officer, we have an ex traffic Volvo v70 which frightens me spinning wheels in 3rd and handling like a large Volvo!

I’ve got a Cupra r. It’s silly quick and handles nicely, but it’s too much power for a front wheel drive IMO. Next car may be the s3 just for the Quattro, or possibly something slower but remapped, maybe skoda Octavia scout to 180 (only cos I drive these fast all day and they’re quite comfy and nice but need a bit more oomph!)

maybe I’m wrong and going to coffee hell, but here’s how I like it!

Espresso machine, run through until coffee coming out is just beige water. Big cup = about 3/4 espresso, topped up with hot water. at the same temp/time as the coffee. Tastes perfect and has just enough froth/scum on top to look good too!
