I’m not maddie moate but after googling her I’m wishing my wife was, probably have better Saturday evening conversation than being told to shut up every time I say something as she’s busy watching x factor.

Haven’t shown her my video yet though, maybe that will change her mood…

Think I’ll stream it onto the tv when she goes out the room in the next ad break.

Thanks for all replies. I’ll cross it out but if justice hangs in my hands then I’ll attend if necessary

I’m guessing (hoping) there’s more chance the 2nd hand shop staff who bought the stolen item in off the guy they’ve arrested will be called than me.

Edit, actually I’ll just try ring this police officer on Monday and have a chat with him before I do anything. I’ve lost the bit of paper I wrote his number on though. I’ve got his ID number and county force he works in but no idea which station. Who do i ring to find out, just the HQ for that county?

Being a Geordie I always liked this picture, sorry no facts though but it must have been impressive living on these streets at the height of tyneside shipbuilding

Here’s another on the tyne thats more recent, Asian Hercules floating crane transporting the millennium bridge up the river.

According to Wikipedia about the rodius

The car was designed by Ken Greenley,[5] former head of the automotive design course at the Royal College of Art in London. The design goal was to capture the essence of a luxury yacht[citation needed].

Maybe that’s why he was former head… :-)

I had one on my 3 door 04 plate. The rear clamp is similar to the front, to fit it you just slide a metal tongue between the window rubber and the bodywork, it’s dead easy.

Fitted mine in 2007 and never removed it til I sold the car 8 years later! Rack was really solid and had no leaks from the clamps going between the door / window seals

Its difficult to get the rubber feet pads so they are completely flat against the roof. This means ( well on mine anyway) that there’s sometimes a slight space at one edge of the foot between rubber and bodywork where road grime and grit will collect so I put some helitape under mine to protect the paint.

We’ve got a grand Picasso and a berlingo which is even taller, but just stick them on the roof. All you need is one of those cheap plastic folding steps from amazon, get the taller version. They fold completely flat so don’t take up any space in the boot.

. This suggests someone bought it, played around with it, stuck it in the box and then took it to CEX?!

i had the same with a garmin 1000, came with unused HR and cadence / speed sensors and unit was unused with screen protector still on.

Made me wonder if these items are maybe nicked!

I mean you’d have to be a pretty keen cyclist for someone to think “oooh i’ll buy him a garmin 1000 / mio 505 as a gift” And if you are a keen cyclist and didnt want this gift you’d have a fair idea of its worth, maybe check ebay out see how much they go for and stick it on there. Not pop to CEX for their poor payout.

I used 2gocycling as well, got a nice Wilier to ride, bike was nice and clean, everything worked fine, even came with a new water bottle to keep.

If I had one criticism it would be the pick up from the hotel was late so was standing round outside for an hour. The wife kept bringing me beers from the bar though and I had a good laugh with the african guys selling all the fake tat outside so can’t complain really.

Edit, but I guess I wouldn’t want to rely on them picking up on time if I was returning it same evening as I had to leave the hotel if you see what I mean.

    I’d use them again though.

    lower shock bushing worn?

thats what always seems to start creaking first on my bike, and is usually more noticeable with the pedal bob on road / fire roads like you describe

even if its all torqued up correctly if the bushings worn it will creak

    yeah mines external routing only.

was initially just wondering if the post was made by anyone else for Raleigh, as the previous one was a rebranded Satori Sorata. Not much info on the RSP one yet so was trying to see if i could find more feedback on it if it was a rebranded job.

yeah although 720g sounds heavy and it must be made from scaffolding or something, its only 150-200g more than the others which when you consider my weight, my camelbak and bike weight its not a lot really.

just got a Frog 48 for my 4yr old. Pretty similar to Islabikes but cheaper.

Theres facebook pages for used islabikes and frog bikes

one advantage of the frog bikes (well if you’re after a new one that is) is that they sell through bike shops so can easily go have a look at them / try for size

Don’t worry I have no intention of damaging the pipe!

If low gas pressure is a big enough deal to give me a dangerous appliance warning notice though, then why don’t boilers monitor the pressure and refuse to be commissioned, or shut down if it falls below the minimum pressure? It monitors water pressure so why not gas pressure?

    meeeee

Chickenman – looks like 22mm pipe going in

Just looked through the installation commissioning checklist and the installer has put 20mbar on there, so what would make it drop down to 13 which it was on the first annual service and today? Assuming he actually tested it and it was 20 at installation…..

CFH – yeah had a look at the earlyrider bikes, they look really good but minimum seat height is 47cm so too big i think if her inside leg is only 43? I assume for kids bikes the need to be able to touch the ground easier than on adult bikes?

Ianpv – did pretty much thar exact loop a few years ago when I was out there, yeah col de soller was a lovely climb. Not quite as fit now though since the arrival of 2 kids so looking at shorter options!

I’ve done sa calobra before so was actually thinking of taking the turn off to cala tuent on the way down, instead of heading right down to sa calobra itself. Is this a nice road?

Also, got the bike for a week and although I’m only planning on two proper rides (got the wife kids to think about too) like the OP I’ll probably try and get a few 90 min rides in early morning or evening. Anywhere you recommend from alcudia for a short ride? Might explore that peninsula bit that sticks out from Alcudia if that’s nice.
