Big grassy area if you can find one, even better if it’s got a gentle slope they can freewheel down. Not as painful if they fall off compared to tarmac. Also better if it’s a nice wide area so it’s easy for them to turn where they want rather than somewhere like a quiet street where it can be bit narrow for them to turn round, (they often fall off when trying to do turns if there’s not much room)

Just remembered I have 3 spare Rakuten codes for free films! We bought a couple of Roku boxes before Xmas, but the 3 free films is limited to one offer per account, so we couldn’t use the codes from the second box. First one to say they want them can have them!

Get the Roku stick instead of the now TV stick, it allows you to add more apps, like Rakuten so you have more choices in future for streaming things.

Now TV stick is ok but for the same money the Roku box is faster and more choice of apps ( we have both Nowtv and Roku stuff) 17.99 on Argos at moment

    https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7392924

And there’s an offer on with 3 free films to own on Rakuten with the Roku stick

Ibnchris – did you order one, and if so how is it? What’s the ‘road feel’ like?

I’m hovering over the buy button as want a more direct drive trainer to replace my failing Bkool one.

I love it, watching my kids (5 and 7) writing little notes to Santa and the elves, and hearing them talking about how they have to be careful as the elves might be watching… It’s great!

Wish I was still a little kid with no worries apart from is Santa going to fit down the chimney!

Thanks! I’d watched one of those episodes but didn’t realise it was a whole series.

There seems to be so much stuff I keep getting lost trying to find things that I’ve mentally bookmarked to watch!

And it all makes me realise how crap I am at any sport I do!!

No raw files just jpegs. Restarted my pc and I’ll leave it churning away and see what happens. Not sure why it’s copying stuff to Drive as well though. Time for some googling…

Friend of mine learnt in Australia when he was out there for 6 months, was flying most days. He came back to the uk flew a few times and sold his kit as the weather too often not good flying conditions.

Most explosions in films now annoy me, they don’t just have flames, but stupid bits whizzing out with sparks as if whatever was blown up was filled with bits of fireworks

Right scrap all the VGA stuff, I’ll have to stick with display port as I’ve just realised VGA doesn’t send audio, and I have no other speakers!

So just need to work out why my display port doesn’t work after updates. Or probably simpler to reposition it so ican access the connectors easier to unplug and replug it after updates!

I suspect your kit is not from 2019 though

Umm yeah your suspicion would be correct, TV is form about 2009!

I’d find the right native VGA settings for the TV and force the PC to use those

Is that the resolution that windows pops up as recommended, or something I find off the tv?

Not sure why it won’t detect the telly on restart – it should do.

It does on a normal restart, just when Windows does certain updates and restarts there’s no display.

In general is VGA better than display port to hdmi or do they produce the same quality image?

I’ll check the Overscan thing as well.

With VGA, i adjusted the display to the one that popped up as recommended on windows, but still not filling the screen.

Have to double check when get back home. What should the aspect ratio menu be set as, think there were about 4 options on the intel graphics setting window. Maintain display scaling was one and a few others. Should have started this topic when I was at home with it in front of me!

^^^ mytyres or giga tyres, (same company I think) obviously you need to add fitting but there some good brands available for under 100.

The other car has some cheaper Maxxis all seasons on (AP2’s?) and they are a bit more squirmy in summer.

What were these like over the winter period? Been looking at these as they are quite well priced!

Used them twice, as long as you are honest about damage when you fill the online form in then you don’t get loads knocked off when they actually see it. Both times they paid more than dealers would part exchanging

I watched breaking bad with my youngest daughter when she was a baby and wouldn’t sleep…. Only problem is I think she’s subconsciously absorbed Tuco Salamanca’s character. She’s only 4 and has already said she’s going to bite my nose off and cut my head off!

This might be a stupid question but I’m no car expert…

Reading all the above posts, If the low oil light was a low pressure light, and if this coming on is a sign that the engine is about to die very soon, why wouldn’t the manufacturers make the light come on when the pressure just drops a tiny bit not basically when there is no oil and no pressure left?

After many years of scone guzzling I have a scientific approach and use both jam first and cream first depending on where I am!

If I’m out at a cafe I’ll do cream first then jam, but at home I’ll do jam then cream.. this stops cream going in my jam jar as I only use one knife. If I’m out at a cafe the jams usually in a little bowl that will be washed out or single use pack so cream contaminated jam is less important!

Most crossover type cars from my experience, although appearing big and chunky on the outside, don’t seem to have a huge amount of space inside compared to normal big hatchbacks / estates. If you need more space than the rooster what about a berlingo or similar?

Edit – missed the bit about good looks so maybe not a berlingo, although their looks don’t bother me.

i wouldnt worry, i live in windermere and have left my bikes on the roof all day in car parks / on street parking with no issues.
If its inside the car in a car park you’ll be fine, or even one of the streets off the main road it’ll be ok.

Weve had some recently, used these and caught quite a few:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Roshield-Snap-External-Rodent-Protector/dp/B00XL388GQ/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1P97O6OG36ZDJ&keywords=rat+trap&qid=1555499980&s=gateway&sprefix=rat%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-7

the boxes can be fixed down, and can be used with traps or bait. Also the boxes are locked so kids / pets cant get into them.

As well as refresher lessons etc, next car she gets, fit a taxi type dashcam that records a front view and the inside of the car then you can review what happens in any accidents or near misses and what she’s doing at the time – if she’s doing stuff like messing around on a phone or drifting off due to tiredness you’ll be able to see. If it is things like using a phone then hopefully the fact the cam will be recording her will put her off doing this, or any other distracting habits

I got an adaptor from Amazon, about £35, it’s bluefree I think, but there’s loads that are identical when you search for car dab adaptor.

Anyway reception is pretty good, I live in the countryside so limited choice, but I can get radio 6, and when I go down the motorway picks up all the others. Dead easy to fit as well. Only slight annoyance is a faint high pitched noise , more noticeable when theres just chatting on the radio rather than music, and not noticeable at all when I’m going down the motorway with road noise and the music turned up.

third dial hard to see, needle looks like its exactly on the 1 but the next dial is on the 9, so if third dial was to be read as a 1, wouldnt that pointer be closer to the 2?

always hated those dials used to take me ages to read them!

Haven’t googled this so I may be wrong but I thought the issue is more with decanters where the drink is sitting there for a long time, rather than just sitting in a glass for a short period.

Wouldnt bother me drinking from a lead crystal glass, it’s not like he’s going to be using them as his only drinking vessel and using them for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Those CX Loadrunners were used to transport newspapers around Europe, i remember seeing one on holiday in france probably early 80’s, was fascinated by its length and 6 wheels. There’s a great article about them here

    https://petrolicious.com/articles/vintage-friday-when-overnight-news-came-in-the-back-of-six-wheeled-100mph-citroen-cxs

Make sure you open the newspaper cutting images, zoom in and read them.

The only one I’ve found interesting is BigringVR which is HD videos of loads of climbs in Europe and USA. Pick a climb in the alps that I’ll probably never be able to do in real life due to kids and lack of time and I just ride up and enjoy the scenery! They do have some flat and undulating stuff as well. There’s also a ‘league running on cyclechat if you want to try and get a bit competitive. As with all the others, free trial available to see what it’s like.

Just checked, 245 videos available to ride at present

What Scuttler says – Envirovent silent 100

Much quieter than the Manrose one that i replaced and seems to work better. Although could be that my manrose one was knackered, but its still quieter than the other manrose ones in the house

We’ve got one similar (was there when we bought the house), it works ok, not much splashback but you need to make sure the slope to the drain is correct, and also, if you have wife and 2 daughters like me then its always clogging up with hair, and they never seem to realise that its not draining the water away until theres a big lake on the floor, then its a case of shouting for me to unclog it….

If i had a choice i’d have a normal shower cubicle
