Whyte Fairfield This is a great bike, my wife has got it last summer and I’ve used it plenty of times already!

I replace the front one when the side knobs are thorn apart from fast cornering.

This way it is “once in a lifetime” purchases…

Would be cool if they powered the bus

For me it is a black North Face fleece. It’s been with me for 5 years now. I used it for everything: from muddy MTB rides to casual-office-duties. The only thing is, that I didn’t buy it. I simply found it in the middle of Dartmoor.

    THIS

I bought them about 2 months ago. Stiff (for my riding), strong and mega light! White rims only, but they look cool.

    I did it on a 26er

Oh, come on scandal42!!! People are giving serious answers and then you come up with something that silly!

If it’s under baggies – nothing beats the new Aldi Specials!

They should put Shurter, Hermida, Kulhavy, Absolon and others super fast XCers on ebikes for a “fun race”. Would be awesome to watch!

Haldon is great when you get there either early (7-8 AM) or after 6PM. I went there last night at 7 and I had a fantastic time!

People like him should be forced by the judge order to ride a bike.

    It would really help him.

Yeah, it was a crackin’ day! That bottleneck was pretty funny, seeing the guys falling over, trying to do 0,0001 mph clipped-in…

That chocolate cake with some crushed shortbread-thing in the middle – how f**n good it was!!!

When I was 14 I could on my Trek 950. I could jump up any set of stairways. I could bunnyhop over 8 of my friends laying flat on the ground.

Then I had about 15 years of break of riding.

    Now I can’t even bunnyhop anymore…

That explains why I am so bloody slow! It’s all the XT chain’s fault!

Scienceofficer if you read my post carefully, you’ll find a bit where I said that I would be a bit upset if I had to pay the full price for the items. 8) But because I didn’t – I am more than happy with the “upgrade”! :D

    It looks awesome.

What about those little screw-like plastic covers on Shimano shifters? How many times I had to move the washing machine to get that little bas#£rd from below…

It looked quite scary through the window this morning – with flying wheelie bins…

But the ride itself was surprisingly pleasant!

    Niterider Lumina 750.

On “Low”, which is 200 lumens – 5hr 30 minutes.

It’s been having very demanding live with me for the last 16 months. Used everyday in every weather. Had few crashes with it, it has been dropped on concrete, it was submerged in a bowl for 10 minutes… I rode Bontrager 24/12 with it.

Great light. Solid mount (don’t overtight it! not much force needed to keep it in place), helmet mount in a box, USB rechargeable.

I got Lumina 400 on a helmet last year and this is a perfect couple.

I can’t imagine winter riding without them on my bike now. I had to modify the front one slightly to fit onto Manitou forks (reversed arch) (“stanley knife action” to copy the top slots and a bit of sticky tape to cover the old ones).

I also have a Crud Catcher on the downtube.

Really good stuff. Ugly, but works great.

3×10 for me… Especially with the M612 crankset: 22-30-40 – loosing any of these would be a massive compromise, which I don’t want. As long as I have only one bike.

What calipers and rotors models have you got?

It took me a while to realise that my old BR-446 calipers were not compatible with RT76 rotors…

I do it often – leaving about 22:30, sometimes even later…

The only thing to remember: if it’s cold – it will get even colder. There is no sun to warm your toes up on the top of the climb… 8)

    Altura Vapour – fantastic jacket!

The RRP is about £120, but if you google it up you’ll find some good offers – I got mine for £39 just before Christmas (I even PSA’ed it here).

I haven’t heard about anyone complaining “oh, I’ve got too many gears!” – go with the 36.

From a proper scientific point of view there is 99.9% chance for lovely, sunny day as soon as you leave home wearing all the heavy-duty waterproof gear (the extra 0.1% adds when you fit mudguards to the bike).

And only try to forget your jacket…

    If it’s got:

    A. bottle opener
    B. pliers
    C. nice logo

it will be a nice gift for a cyclist! ;-)

Since fitting a front MudHugger and the classic CrudCatcher on a downtube, my glasses are only used when I need to protect my eyes from sun.

Which means I haven’t used them since good few months now…

How about going out for a night ride with one of those mahoosive halogen lamp, running on 2x C batteries and producing so much light, that you could see more less the whole 3 metres ahead of you?

No pics sadly bu you can get 3 bikes, 2 of which are XL in size, and 2 adults in a Nissan Micra. It’s tight but it’s possible. Wheels off, stacked up and no space for anything else.

    What about the driver?

It’s a great little light – has been serving me with no issues for the last two years.

Actually last night a trail-runner I met in the woods on my way from work commented that it was very bright.

The 5th mode is very powerful – enough for daylight commute. When it’s dark – even the “low” mode is more than good!
