I placed the order for the Worx’s one this morning, should be with me tomorrow – I’ll put an update here after the first use!

Until now I used to use one of this arm-pumped yellow things. It was quite good for making the bike wet, but not powerful enough to remove any muck from frame and tyres/wheels. And during yesterday’s bike clean the bottom of the tank cracked, resulting with high pressure water splashing all around the car park (my usual bike cleaning place)…

A friend of mine recently purchased Specialized Chisel Comp (£1300). I’m jealous now. 8)

    Very nice!

Despite the fact I’d be walking probably about 95% of it…

Imgur time… Hopefully it works now!

I’ve managed to make the photos working now…

    This is how it looks:

Do you guys think it’s a warranty issue? Have you ever seen a rim cracked like this one? The cracks are only on the drivetrain-side – the other one is intact. I’m asking, as if it is usual “wear and tear” (bike used for gentle XC, no jumps! Wheels about 16 months old) then I’d just get the wheel relaced locally and save time and money sending it back to Superstars 8)

The Pinnacle Kauri is a great little bike! Our daughter was in-between 24″ and 26″ – the choice of this bike was excellent. She feels very confident riding the training loop at Haldon, along with the easier Blue.

Mudhugger, zip-tied around the legs only. The top holes “closed” with electrical/gorilla tape.

Yes, I’ve got that feeling… Even though I normally only watch one or two full live coverages from through the whole Tour – the evening recaps on Eurosport do set a Summer Routine for me and my wife.

I don’t like when TdF ends – the evenings come faster and faster now…

I managed to get two fantastic rides this weekend. The ones that make your face smile all the way.

Brecon Beacons, The GAP, on Saturday:

And the rocky Princetown Loop. I did The Widowmaker twice, trying different suspension settings… #fullyrigid

I wonder if he’s selling the other leg too – then just a bit of duct tape and job done!

Another vote for Pinnacle Kauri 26 – fantastic bike for the money!

My daughter says it feels very stable (comparing to the old 20″ thing she has just retired) – hence I assume it would be beneficial for a kid with no riding experience!

The Forerunner 25 has been working for me very well. I don’t train, so I don’t need HR (which is possible anyway, with an optional HR strap) and a lot of numbers – I just needed something to give me distance, time, pace.

And this watch does it perfectly fine. And it syncs to a phone via Bluetooth, it also uploads the runs on Strava automatically.

The Garmin Connect app on the phone provides a lot of data afterwards, including the stride length and cadence – can be useful I suppose!

I feel that I owe my pump a massive recommendation – Topeak Peakini. Cheap, light and durable.

But not just that! This pump comes back to you! Gods, Mother Nature, I don’t know… But when I had my bike stolen 3 years ago the pump was taken along (and I’d already had it for long time back then!). Two days later I rode to work on my wife’s bike and found a Topek Peakini waiting for me in the middle of a quiet road!

Cheap, minimal and comfortable but bin the bladder straight away – utter rubbish!

I replaced mine with inov8 1L bladder, now the pack is perfect for riding and running.

The pack itself is very good.

    TLD Ace.

Very slim-fit and comfortable due to their stretching material.

I don’t think I would pay the full RRP for them though, but can be found on sale quite often – I think I paid about 25 quid for mine last year.

That reminds me of last years “epic” ride… A friend of mine who introduced me to XC MTB and who has been my MTB Guru for long time for some reasons stopped riding a lot – just very few, irregular outings. It has been really difficult to get him out as well. But one lovely day he felt the call and we drove to Quantocks for a “Whole Day Epic”! I planned the route, including the pub lunch, we had the whole day to ride the bikes! We arrived early, around 8am, after 2 hours of driving.

Not even 15km later we were packing the bikes back on the car, ending the Epic Adventure before midday…

    How about FlipBelt[/url]?

I got one for running, but it works perfectly in any situation.

Thanks for some STW-style-helpful & the proper-helpful replies

It was more about leaving the larger stuff somewhere (some chairs and table, all old and not valuable for stealing I suppose – hence the idea of the tent) up there, as I don’t have a car big enough to get it all in with all seats occupied. But I managed to sort out additional transport, so issue resolved :D

    Thanks…

I expected that to be considered a “dick move”. My main objective was to leave the stuff there, so there was a bit less pressure a bit later. But I think I’ll ditch the idea…

HT with rigid forks here. The main technique I use is a combination of good old swearing like a sailor with Holy Mary’s…

Thanks for moving this post to the correct forum in the first place!

The Black Mountains Loop looks like it’s got my name written on it! So that’s a Saturday sorted.

And Sunday – the GAP loop! Bingo!

    Thanks you very much, guys!!!

Is it 10mm through-axle you’re after? If so – I have a spare one, with the skewer. SS sent me my wheel back with this axle by error after repair (it should be 9mm “old-school” thing).

BTW my hub kept snapping this things regularly – I sent the wheel under warranty and they replaced the freehub body.

I’ve got Forerunner 25. It syncs everything as “run”, but changing it within Strava/Garmin Connect (or whatever else) is easy. The only annoying bit is that the watch keeps all the “personal records” as they were from running activities – which means it must be thinking I’m faster than Usian Bolt…

My wife went for a class few weeks ago and she fall in love with it – now trying to go at least 3 times per week. She is not the fittest person, so I’m very glad she has finally found a “sport” she loves.

According to her – you’ll be in pain next day!

I’d try to upload one of the previous rides from the Garmin as my on on Strava – it should show who did I “rode” with.

Obviously this only works if the owner uses Strava…

I recently switched to rigid forks. With 25mm rise 720mm bars, Ergon grips and 2.25 tubeless Crossmark @15 PSI the bike is very comfy.

I got the rigids for the time I service my bouncy forks, but now I think I’ll stay with the Project Two for longer!

I used to suffer this as well. What sorted the pain out for me was moving the brake levers up, so they are closer to the horizontal position and Ergo grips – no more fingers pain, even on a rigid forks! (I’m not talking about the rest of the body though… )

And there is always that one muddy puddle which makes you brake to stop, just to ride/walk around it to keep the bike clean…

The classic downtube CrudCatcher does wonders. The whole set (M’Huggers and CC) make my bike look pretty ugly, but when you hit some proper wet trail it doesn’t really matter!

Plenty of options over here, but they all involve steep climbs and plenty of muddy puddles… What distance you would like to cover?

Saved my life. A council-face woman in her old astra turned into a road I was crossing (walking to work), with no indication and no slowing down. Luckily I saw her entering the road and I managed to jump forward – I could literally feel the bumper touching my legs…
