Was from the start of the season at fort bill though. Seemed to have pretty good picture quality compared to the live feed on red bull tv.

Next round in Mont Sainte Anne, Canada is on tomorrow evening. Can watch live here

I’d be looking at the Vango Icarus tents for that money.

Have spent a few weekends in one and they pitch in less than 10 minutes (no exaggeration) are comfortable space wise for sleeping. Have good headroom and you can have either front or side entrance. I like.

Don’t often read books more than once, there’s too many books out there. Have read the following twice though;

Shantaram, Gregory Roberts
Norwegian Wood, Murakami
Desert Solitaire, Edward Abbey
Master and Margarita, Bulgakov

on my saw, my new chain (which is correctly adjusted before running) appears a bit too slack on the lower side after I have run it…what do I need to check? could my bar be slipping?

New chains tend to stretch, just re adjust the tension (whilst holding up the nose of the bar) and all should be good.

I thought the CS30,31,32 etc assessments no longer existed as of the end of last year?

True, they are now ‘officially’ NPTC units 201, 202 for maintenance and cross cutting. 203 for small fell etcetc but mostly they still get referred to by the old ‘CS’ names as everything is the same except the numbers on your city and guilds card/cert.

10 safety features on the saw?
Spark plug has black deposits on it. Good/bad?
Name two different sprocket types?
When would a semi chisel chain be better than full chisel?

Ranger seems to be where things keep coming back too, I just cant seem to get excited about them though. Think I need o wait for one to come up local and take it for a drive. Although if I can find a reasonable condition, sub 80k miles L200 I think I might take a punt on it as I just like it a bit better.

Going to set up a watch on ebay and gumtree see what comes up.

There is a 2000 L200 on the bay at the moment with 67k on the clock and new BFG tyres which might just fall into my price bracket. Shame about the hideous graphics but if its a good motor clicky

See my other thread about Double Cabs.

Had a wee read of that, useful thanks.

flat cap occasionally, beanie on a regular basis when winter, regularly indoors(my ears just like it) and out. and on the odd occasional I crack out my well worn tilley hat in summer time. used to be a big baseball cap wearerer but not felt the want to put them on of late

I don’t last long with office work and the mental exertion that accompanies it. Give me some decent hard graft however and am happy. I like to take off my boots at the end of the day when I’m exhausted and get a sense of satisfaction from having physically tired myself out through the day.

I find office jobs harder, so would have to agree with op.

If you use it on the ground and make sure you are stable and balanced the whole time, wear appropriate PPE and give respect to the chainsaw then you will be fine.

Make sure you understand how to maintain your saw and keep it sharp, oiled and properly tensioned and don’t try to go through anything too big or with any foreign objects in it. A saw horse will make it easier for you to work safely.

Ran winter tyres on the car for a couple of summers. They were fine mostly although I developed a lot of tyre roll(not sure the tech term for this). Basically lateral movement due to the weaker sidewall on the tyre. In hot temps and after driving a while you could feel the difference in the handling of the car. Presume the rubber is designed to run in colder temps and got too supple when hot. Had a blow out after a long drive on twisty roads, tyre basically split right around the edge of the tread and the sidewall. I was being a cheapskate and had run the same tyre for ~20k miles though.

edit- tyres were Michelin Alpin snow.

Petzl Tikka Just replaced one of these petzls which I lost with another of the same. Never wanted for more light and after looking at the other options decided that I didn’t fancy the alpkit one with cables and battery pack.

Simple and functional, I don’t need it to be any better.

Reducing numbers of what, exactly? You can’t seriously mean animals? It is the number of us humans that needs reducing, not animals.

Reducing numbers in general really, just feeling of late it is rarther busy around here.

Yes humans for the most part, but without some seriously selective thinning of our own species then the rest of our prey are never going to come out well. Seems as a whole that we have let the power go to our heads and our hurry to force evolutions hand forwards can’t end well.

KILL EVERYTHING

Yeh. If its bugging you and causing a problem with something you want to achieve then kill it. We humans appear to be the boss of this place, and have designed it such that we are so focussed on our important goals and objectives that we destroy anything that stands in the way. I don’t really see what badgers have that makes them an exception to the rule. Why are they more special. We have destroyed ‘our’ forests which gave us much more than badgers ever can do. Screw the badgers, swat them with that mechanical killing device! …and do it NOW before the uprising begins

no don’t clone them. that would be stupid and selfish. where the blinking flip are you going to put a woolly mammoth. there is not any space. we need to be reducing numbers, period, not adding old extinct species back in. blimey we humans are so daft

Play Station 2 has a TT Game, its very difficult. But i love it

That ps2 game was great! Could never work out how to refuel though, so doing the longer TT races I always seemed to run out, v frustrating considering how long laps took!

It is an awesome game. I still have I somewhere and might have to get it out again for a blast. The refuelling thing…..I never figured it out either!!?! Soo frustrating and no matter what I tried they would never refuel me!

I imagine the game was developed with the riders in mind to help them practice and learn the course, much like the simulators for F1 drivers and the like, to help them learn a track before they arrive.

RAB Vapour Rise Lite– breathes very well and versatile for all round wear on top of riding duties.

Endura MT500– lots of good features and a good hood. More durable than some lightweight options.

Altura Mayhem– lightweight, packs down v. small, simple design with a nice cut and damn good value

The Seiko watches are really hard to beat at this price. This thread got me looking again and think that the Series 5 or the Pilot chronograph pictured below would be my choice(£80 from Creation Watches). Probably would better suit a chunkier brown leather strap with white stitching for more formal occasions or the NATO one mentioned above for everyday use.

bahahahaha that was excellent. Marquez was committed to getting past him on that last lap and he did. Poor Lorenzo’s sensibilities have been hurt, but what’s he going to do? Marquez will greatly enjoy any aggressive riding around him and it is not Jorges style so would throw him off his game.

I love this kid :D

I play the motorway delta game with myself sometimes. Objective is to not affect anyone else’s speed wherever possible and to maintain your own speed at what you want as much as possible.

It means I have to USE MY MIRRORS properly and judge what cars are coming up behind me at what closing speed and judge whether there will be a space for them to use the outside lane when they get to me or whether I should use the space on the inside lane between the lorry I’m on my way past and the next one which is a few hundred meters ahead of it, to avoid them having to slow for me.

Also got to be aware of and anticipate what people are doing around me and if moving in and out of the inside lane be careful not to get myself blocked so that I have to temporarily slow because someone is passing me as I come up on the slower vehicle ahead in the inside lane. It’s preferable that I don’t slow my speed and if that means moving earlier out to the middle lane and causing someone in that lane to move out and past me then that’s all good. Welcome to the symphony.

People who are driving to relax, being lazy, talking on their phone, or just auto-locking onto the car in front can f… off. This is driving, perhaps one of the more tasking things you ask yourself to do in your day, be a little more fking aware and give it a bit more bloody effort.

If I have to pay in accordance with my size then goddamnit I want leg room!

^^ Well said. In fact goddamnit I just want leg room!! and those head rest side bolster things….yep the ones that dig into the back of my shoulder blades, I want them gone. I want freedom to shoot any small people in the emergency exit seats sat there swinging their legs cos their feet don’t even touch the bloody ground. I want a toilet that I can either stand or sit in, the current choice of sat with my knees round my ears or stood in some bent double contorted shape trying to hit the target without getting my chin on the way past is not ok. Tray tables that will fold out to be flat and not on a major angle because however I sit my legs or knees stop it folding out properly would be appreciated too.

If that’s all good then yeh no worries about paying for my weight due to height.

One of these

To hunt down everyone over the age of 70 who can’t drive worth a sh*t. Either slow and dangerously indecisive driving or reckless abandon style driving in an mismatched attempt to balance their slow perception and awareness against the unstoppable flow of modern day city traffic.

Probably start off outside the bingo and then move on to the bowling green later in the day.

Over pronation and collapsed arches are a symptom of imbalance in the hip and knee. Supports aren’t fixing the problem, they’re actually making it worse. Sort your imbalance and do arch strength exercises.

Not sure I totally agree. A trip to the podiatrist is well worth while.

A properly custom moulded set of orthotics can help to re align the lower leg and remove stress from the knee and hip joints whilst strenghening excercises bring the arch back to a better place. I went through a bunch of different biometric ‘stuff’ with the podiatrist based at my local university sports injury clinic before getting a plaster cast taken of my feet and an orthotic built. The original orthoic itself cost over £100 but then its possible to switch it beween footwear for sport etc and a re sole only costs £20.

I have had it adjusted a few times now over the course of the last ten years and the support it has provided coupled with the regular(ly forgotten to do) strengthening routine has made my feet much happier.

If you can’t be arsed with all that then wear better footwear, something with a higher heel than toe is a good place to start and obviously walking boots etc beat plimsoles handsdown.
