What a legend. How can anyone have any doubts about Hamilton? Awesome. And also, massive respect to him for his work for BLM etc. Someone any kid can look up to and try and learn from.

No way would a 4 year old be able to deal with it unless you can turn the controller down. That said, maybe a present he can grow into? 😉

Isn’t this when @worldclassaccident pops round to carve you a big squirrel half way up a ladder with a chain saw in flip flops?

    Don’t be silly, squirrels don’t wear flip-flops.

I have both the army camo and raf blue. The army ones are a lot baggier and I find the crotch catches on the saddle which is annoying. The raf ones were a much better fit.

    Fair enough. Cheers.

Guess the issue I have with that is distinguishing between an issue (which should be raised) and a design choice that isn’t in line with what I would do personally. I have never got the feeling the design suggestions/feedback are particularly welcome.

I agree that it’s a bit invasive. I would expect these settings to be under my profile somewhere. It’s isnt like I need to change these settings regularly.

Is the cage rotated correctly? It looks like it might be rotated too far backwards to me.

As long as it pings, it’s fine. Ting might be OK, might be too tight. Pong is too low.

Why didn’t Roger write that in his book?! The perfect explanation :)

Yeah but borrowed it from a mate. Don’t think he ever used it or would be asking him for advice! They seem pretty expensive to buy. The guide I used (Roger Musson) has instructions on how to build one. Has certainly made it a lot easier than trying to use the bike frame. Would really recommend the Roger Musson guide though. Was really well explained.

Birmingham I’m afraid but thanks for the offer. Will see if I can find a wheel builder or LBS up here that I could get to give it a once over.

I’ve done a reasonable part of cannock on a gravel bike complete with bikepacking bags. Was mental but very fun. Its a lot slower but more exciting than being on an mtb.

Cheers. Spokes are J bend. Also now doubting how much tension I actually have. Might be a bit looser than my existing one. Will give it a good rough housing later and maybe a bit more tension. Should probably have used some cheaper components for a first attempt.

Everything was brand new. Hopefully the tensions are about right but I don’t have a gauge to tell for sure. They are pretty even per side (drive is noticibly taughter than non drive) and feel roughly as per my existing wheel so fingers crossed. I’m a bit nervous about actually riding it! An easy trip round the block for starter :)

What’s the deal with getting an os on a self build now? You appear to be able to buy a win 10 key for either £100 or £10. Is this depended on whether you need an os for an entirely new build compared to upgrading an older version?

Unless you get a Miele WER865WPS at a very minimum I would be supprised if you could show your face around here again.

Hmm… I hadn’t realised that multiroom was going to be such a pain. Thought it would be “get x graphics card with 2 hdmi outputs” and that would essentially be that. It appears that any solution is likely to be outside the actual PC build itself so perhaps I should ignore this requirement for the moment if it isn’t going to actually affect the component choice. Would an old laptop with a remote desktop connection to the new PC be a suitable solution?

Also, from reading around AMD seems to be the way to go at this price so wil probably be aiming towards a Ryzen build if that helps/makes any difference at all.

I don’t know much about your questions but I take it you know about this site?

    https://uk.pcpartpicker.com

Hadn’t seen that before but looks really useful. Last time I build myself a PC was around 2001 and built from parts from a PC fair!

Budget doesn’t need to include monitor btw. Just the actual PC (assuming peripherals aren’t extortionate).

What a mad bit of coding to require that.

It’s like the Gazza of the bike world. It’s probably going to take some fish and chips to a rogue Kline in a Canal somewhere to try and calm it down.

Don’t think that is right. Once a SAR is filed you have to be really careful about not tipping off the party. Once it has been investigated and there is solid evidence then you certainly have to close/suspend the account or take whatever actions the appropriate authorities instruct. It isn’t as simple as filing a SAR then immediately closing the account. Bet there are hundred of SARs raised which once investigated prove innocent.

Bad story writing by the BBC I think. Headlinns are all “banks do bad” but, like chevy says, if you read the story it seems the banks are doing what is required of them. But of an odd one.

The way I see it is that if the bikes fall off without being rivnutted to the car your bikes will be ****. If they fall off and are rivnutted to the car your bikes and car will be ****.

Guess it depends who posts it. If for example neil(?) from superstar components put a PSA for their wheels then defo an ad. A third party then its not so clear. Some PSAs are better than others so I would struggle to get excited for a PSA for a perpetual sale but I probably wouldn’t get my knickers in a twist about it.

I think that even if it is a well intentioned peice of information it is still an ad. Flashing or just plain text…

Are all the films in the same folder? Assuming yes and a windows user, select all the files (ctrl + A) then hold shift while right clicking on the selected files. In the menu that appears you should then be able to ‘copy as path’ and paste the list of filenames into word.

We got a cheap hp black and white laser printer just before lockdown. Has been great and hasn’t missed a beat. The toner which came with it lasted a while and a replacement was £40 and shows no sign of use despite printing a couple of reams of schoolwork. Much better than an ink jet.

    Edit: HP m15w I think.

…… Footwear is the real problem. Sealskinz are good for this – pull on quickly but can walk around without getting wet feet

I tend to take a pair of flip-flops. Not too heavy and really nice to get out your shoes while walking round a nice couples house camp.

Normally massive decathlon fan but I find their trousers a really odd fit. Much to tight round thighs. Shame cos they seem good otherwise.

I have some g-one’s on my CdF. Only the cheap ones mind. They are very slippery on anything damp. First ride I understeered into a bush on a really gentle, but slightly dirty and damp tarmac path. Great in dry and dusty though.

This is what I went with in the end (along with some wrist guards) :

    Skateboard

No idea if it’s any good. Was the golden combination of reasonably cheap and in stock. Thinking was that decathlon are usually pretty solid so hopefully this will follow that trend.

I’ll have you know that I am definitely not having a mid-life crisis. If I was I would be looking for something more expensive to go off the rails with! That said, I have ordered a cruiser so watch out for a “how do you wipe your arse with two broken wrists?” thread coming soon.

    mechanicaldope

Also, maybe consider a cruiser rather than a longboard for your first board

Can you elaborate on this please? Is it just a more comfortable shape for lugging about or are cruisers easier in some way?

I went snowboarding 22 years ago. That is probably the only board based thing I have ever done. Was OK at it though. At least till I fell off.
