Yeah YPC looks good but the distance is a bit of a problem.

I’m also thinking that Skimish looks a bit serious/full on!

ukpaintball.co.uk is winning at the moment i think

    Cheers for this

Should it be obvious when the pistons are back in their housing? I thought I had pushed them back but perhaps not far enough

Na, the brakes arent rubbing anymore after i re-positioned the caliper. The lever just doesnt seem as smooth as it was/is on the front brake

Thanks doug and all, i’ve read that review on the electrons and it was useful. I’ve also seen some spank spikes which look the business but i don’t seem to be able to find anywhere that sells them!

Stanfree: what happened to your poploc? mine is now unusable as it won’t ‘un-pop’, i think the spring is knackered on it – doubt its a canyon fault

Cheers, I like the look of the magicshines in the link but i’m not sure if 2hours will be sufficient – the research/pondering continues! 🙂

I’ve got an xc 6.0 and i’m really please with it, nice geometry and kit for the money. I gave it a proper ragging around dalby in the soaking wet yesterday – slightly regretting that as i’ve spent the whole day cleaning sand out of it, but that would be the same with any bike in those conditions of course.

I believe the 2012 models are out next month so might be waiting for one of those or see if you can get a deal on the current models.

I’m thinking of buying the DX 1200 lumen version too. Wondering if I should just go with the already popular DX 900 lumen version instead, anyone know how it compares?

If anyone has a canyon nerve xc (2011) and is interested in the torque settings for the rear suspension pivots, here they are:-

All bolts need to be torqued correctly and thread-locked with Loctite Medium (#243). The torque values for your bike’s suspension pivotsare as follows:

    • Main pivot behind bottom bracket: 22-25NM
    • M4 bolts (4mm): 4-6 NM
    • M5 bolts (5mm): 6-9 NM

I’m going to give it a go with the loctite tonight to see if it fixes my clicking noise.

    Cheers

The manual is a bit garbage, I can’t see the torque settings. The thing is, the more I tighten the top bolt the louder the clicking noise is!

I’m also concerned the the bolt is not actually long enough – im guessing it should go all the way through but it doesn’t seem to and theres about 2/3mm of thread still showing when tightened.

    Bloody annoying

I’ve slackened off the bolt going into the top of the shock and it appears to have stopped the clicking noise…

how tight should this bolt be, does anyone know?

    DU bush?

Seems to have developed during the first ride so it shouldn’t be worn

Hmm that is tempting! do you know anyone who has done it before and can vouch for it being anygood? is it technical too or would a relative newbie like myself be ok do you think? 🙂

Could be right about the plastic tubes with the internal cable runs.

The outer gear cabling on mine had split through the plastic so I had to change it. I can confirm that the little plastic tubes are for the internal cabling. The inner gear cabling hangs bare inside the frame so you push a plastic tube onto it from the bottom until appears out of the top of the downtube. Then rip the old cable out leaving the plastic tubing and thread the new one in from the shifter!

    Hi Rich,

My xc 6 arrived too this morning apparently! can’t wait to get home to check it out… hope you manage a ride this w/e (rain or shine!)

Let us know how you get on.

Portugal is a good shout and Lagos is a really nice place to stay, it’s got plenty of good restaurants and bars etc and the nightlife is good if your after that too. We went out for a day trip with Mountain bike adventure and Jim is a good guide.

You can get a train to Lagos from Faro, it takes about 5 hours I think but is cheap as chips.

True, but i’d rather my finger go one on one with just a spoke instead of a cigar cutter rotor!!

    meandyuk

Wouldn’t it be quite dangerous having disc rotors on road bikes? I could see fingers getting mangled in a crash! ouchy

I’ve ordered a canyon nerve xc 6.0 which come with qr reba rl 120mm, are they anygood? 🙂 i went for them as i was hoping i wouldn’t have to do much p*ssing about with them to keep them going (unlike fox forks?)

Cheers, but these are from 2005/6. I think it’s the spring thats come unhooked as I was fishing about in there with a pick when I was trying to remove a snapped shift cable! whoops!

Yeah it’s a bastad to take apart. Any 9-speed will do really (tiagra soon to be 10sp apparently) as long as it functions the same and is not the silly button shift.

£80 though! gulp!! My elastic band trick is cheaper for now 🙂

Hmm, I was looking at one of these and this is making it more tempting… i’m just about 5ft10 so i’m undecided between a small or medium!! What size did you order postierich?
