Agree with this. When we moved into our house the previous owners hadn’t done anything and the place was really mucky! it took the shine off our moving day a bit so would never do it to anyone else.

Thanks all for the ideas – went for the Mercure Brigstow as it was in budget and got good reviews.

Got the grail al 7. First ride last night and it went well ! steering is quite sploppy though, probably as it has quite a long TT (i think – i’m no expert).

I would go for the topstone if I didn’t have it.

So I bought the tool and had a go. It did turn out to be a bent derailler hanger causing the noise. I spent about an hour or so messing with it and i’ve got it much better but its still not quite right so i’ve ordered a new hanger 🙂

I bought the frame 2nd hand – so who knows what’s happened to it! I might get one of those alignment tools bought for the collection, i’ve watched a couple of video and it seems fairly easy to use……………….. then i’ll go out and order a new hanger when I snap it 😉

Its in all gears but seems worse/louder when i’m in the big ring at the front.

Thanks, I think I have sussed it, i’m thinking there is another bolt for the top cap now stuck inside a larger bolt for the compression nut – now just need to free it up

Now i’m a little confused – will the Ultegra 10speed 12-30 cassette not work with a 4700 rear mech then?

I know its not a long more ‘spinny’ but I think it may make a bit of a difference here in Yorkshire… plus I need a cassette for the turbo so may as well chuck the older cassette on that and use the better one for going outside with.

Well the seller won the frame, which was donated by upgrade bikes/kinesis as a prize. They then advertised the wrong frame size on ebay and I bought it not knowing this at the time. It is brand new in box, never used.

I don’t think i’m going to get anywhere with this 🙂
