    wearing knee pads wont let you take more risks on fast descents as they don’t offer enough protection , your mind allows you to go faster as your skill level increases . I ride a lot of fast xc like yourself and yes I do actually wear knee pads but only on new trails that ive never ridden before or if I know I am going to be doing some nasty rock gardens , and they do start to rub after 30 miles irrelevant of what ever pad you are using

    I have a canyon nerve xc8 and the head angle was 69 deg so I put an angled headset on from works components which gave me 67.5 deg and then offset bushes on the rear which made it 66.5 deg and I can say that it made it a completely different bike , super fast on rock gardens and climbs well too

    I agree with jota 180 , me and all my mates use these cut to knee level ,sew the hem and buy some braces 100% waterproof and only £15 ish

    no just popped it back in but had to put me under as they said I had to much muscle which made it harder to pop in

    Ive got one of these with on one full carbon forks single speed and i use a 2.4 29er nobby nic with pressure down to 25 psi which softens the front end .its an absolute flying machine with no loss of power at all i love it ,best bike i own ,and i own 5 bikes all top spec

    I take it that your bike is the top picture and you want it to be like the bottom picture ? .I have one of these superstar tensioners and I had the same problem , chain slip under pressure . you need to take the circlip out the back and move the spring round to the next hole which then moves the tensioner up to the chain more . hope this helps
