Working in the Insurance repair industry I am becoming more and more alarmed at the current lackadaisical attitude towards the risks of asbestos in domestic properties.

The commercial world has had to take this seriously but in the domestic world it seems that people have forgotten what the end result of exposure can be.

Not sure who AXA are using up here (I work in the insurance repair industry) but as I said before let them send someone out to assess the damage.

A word of warning re Rainbow International – as they are franchises there are good ones and bad ones and not all insurers will use them.

I would suggest allowing AXA to send out one of their approved repairers/drying contractors to assess the works.

    Whereabouts are you?

Fitbit Ionic for me. It has Strava app and GPS so means I don’t need to have my phone with me.

I’ve used 591’s for years but got a new 598 last week and it is far better.

Better frame clamp, wheel trays and ratchet for wheels.

    Well worth the extra IMO

4 year old Octavia went back last year with 155k and never had anything done to it but variable interval services. New one hit 45k today.

Mine arrived on Friday and worked great. I already have a perfectly good track pump so no need to pay the extra for the Bontrager or Topeak ones.

    Certainly worth the £40.00

I bought clear Revant lenses for one pair of Oakleys and find this a problem. Didn’t see the need to spend any more money for clear Oakley lenses but I guess you do get what you pay for.

I read this yesterday afternoon after having bought a pair of 2FO clips’s and used them on Sunday with my Mallet DH’s and didn’t notice much of an issue then.

That was until last night when I lost the front end on a wet root and couldn’t disengage my right foot and ended up lying in the mud………

I’m going to swap back to XT trail pedals for my next outing and see if they are an better with the shoes. It’s annoying as I prefer the Mallets with the wider platform over the XT’s.

I now use Bravecto on my cocker spaniel.

Gave up on Frontline a few years ago as it was becoming less effective. Started using Advantix which worked well but again the spot-on treatment was an issue as he had a habit of trying to rub it off on the furniture!!

Bravecto seems to work but he won’t swallow the tablet so I have to break it up and hide in pate’. I think I was £28.00 for the last tablet from the vet.

I agree that from Perth to Inverness they are a good thing but the Perth to Dunblane stretch is completely unnecessary.

You miss the magnetic bite valve holder when you use another pack that doesn’t have it.

I bought a pair a few weeks ago and I’m really pleased with them.

They are quite narrow compared to say Shimano DX’s.

Size wise, I’m an 8 in normal shoes, a 9 in Shimano’s and I first got an 8 in the Mavic’s but had to send them back and went for an 8.5 which fits fine.

    HTH.

A friend of mine had an Orange Patriot stolen a few years ago and it appeared a few weeks later in Cash Convertors in Dundee.

It was found by a local Policeman who was an MTB’er and he traced the bike back to my friend.

Got the back back in the end!

I used senditnow.com this week to collect a bike I bought.

It seems to be part of Parcelforce but was simple to set up. Was only about £15.00 for next day delivery.

    It’s no longer made!

I believe there may be a new one coming out later in the year/next year though.
