Agreed the new San An is a bit of a hound, but the new Zen is quite nice IMO. I think they just might ride really well though, overbuilt as **** so should be nice and stiff, and their older stuff like the Fury, even though it was absolutely ancient, was still well liked by owners & reviewers.

    Hey jools,

you need to click through all 3 pages of special offers, think there still are some k24s left. I think CRC have k24s on offer too but a little dearer.

Nothing wrong with Alfa reliability these days. I had a 156 back in 2001 and never gave an ounce of trouble. Brother has a 166 3.0 lusso and his missus has the old model Spider. Neither have given any real trouble. They have a great Alfa dealer nearby tho which I think helps a lot.

Besides theres something about Alfas, even the most basic ones are that little bit special to drive

I think they are planning to sell entirely direct online but I may be wrong. Nearly bought a Fury a while back but the new stuff was imminent. The guys at the helm now seem very enthusaistic about rebuilding the brand, I was bowled over by communication I had from them at time, seem like real Bike Guys!

Hmmmm, strange urge to buy one of them, even though I snapped a carbon FSA post last year with MY 14st ass annd nearly desecrated my wedding giblets

    Oh Here –

Maybe I’m coming across as some kind of angry lunatic for some reason, as I said before its not the delay thats the problem but the way it was handled. By the looks of it I’m in the minority. Have been using CRC for 2 yrs or so and have never had problems till last 3 or so orders.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but ya know what?, don’t think it is unreasonable that if you have a problem that someone try and sort it out in a timely and efficient manner. I’ll leave it at that :-)

    2 weekends?

you must work to a different calendar to me, cos i can only see the 5th & 6th of February inbetween today and the 30th – a sunday – when you placed your order.

lying and exageratting may be par for the course in your line of work, but dont expect me to tolerate it.

    Sorry lad,

No lying no exaggeration. Finally got a dispatch email 2pm today.(After another email) This means I will not have till Monday at best. 2 Weekends. Switch your brain on before your mouth!

If anyone has tried the latest VW diesel engines as found in 2011 MY Golf, Passat etc, the whole rattle/noise thing is almost a thing of the past. There are rougher NA petrol engines around in my experience.

If they are offering it with the 7 speed DSG box, I would definitely buy one, as the DSG definitely masks a lot of the power delivery issues of a diesel and can be great fun to drive in sports mode and with paddleshift option.

Always been great to me, they literally pulled an order off the loading dock for me when I accidentally ordered 2 Mmmbops… Just placed an order 2 days ago, arrived today, and so on. Yeah, good shop. I suppose being such a huge company they’re bound to drop the ball sometimes but I’ve always been happy with them

Your dead right, companies drop the ball, I can live with that. It’s being made a C**T out of by not replying to emails etc. that has me so annoyed

    Repeatedly?

Never failed for me. Not that this helps your situation.

A lack of response is irritating, there’s nothing worse than sending of email after email into a black hole.

Yea 3rd time in a row for me. Maybe I’m just poxed

So can anyone recommend good online wheel builder, or where can I buy Hope Hoops in stock. Excuse my ignorance but not really up on the whole tubeless thing, I take it that means specific tyres etc also? Not really a problem as my tyres are shagged anyway :)

Not really unless its really steep, most of my local trails are twisty, rough and techy so good to have some weight over the front centre. Well helps me go faster anyhow

Watch those lads – The only people who drive RR Sports in Ireland are the Pikeys, prob better to give way as the chances of the thing being owned, taxed, insured by the actually driver are not so great :)

rob- these frames are on sale in the states at big discounts. Would prob work out at about 500 quid shipped which is an unbelievable bargain.

Apparantly anyone not running shimano cranks have had chainjam issues, but I have had no issues with the fsa cranks I am running. :)

Have clocked up about 100 trail miles so everything is bedded in nicely and have to say it just seems like a nice well sorted bike.

Definitely reduces bob feels firm rather than harsh I would say but in a good way. Just seems to do its job without fuss, only downside is it can sit a little high in its travel if you are a 10st whippet. Thankfully Im not that ;)
