I wouldn’t bother with the BCU, an awful organisation with little or no use to the recreational paddler. I’ve long since stopped giving them any of my hard earned.

As mentioned above UK rivers guide book is a useful tool, or try the local canoe club, most clubs will let you try some kit out and offer advice about what and where to buy as well as where to paddle safely, before you go diving in at the deep end.

(I’ve been paddling about 20 years and have never been asked nor have I heard about anyone ever being asked to show a waterways license)

My first proper MTB (since a Diamond Back Ascent in the early 90’s) delivered yesterday, so very much beautiful (to me at least).

Bit of a highjack, I’ve stumbled into biking from one too many dry kayaking trips, kayaking is fighting it’s own access issues. Surely I’m not going to get grief doing this as well am I? (this thread seems to render that a rhetorical question)

Barton does seem to have bucked his ideas up, and last season was arguably one of his best. I remember one game where he was kicked from pillar to post and admirably didn’t rise to the bait (vs Wolves I think?), but you can’t gloss over the facts he punched Pedersen.

Now we may disagree but I watch a lot of footy, used to play a bit too, and IMO this doesn’t happen 20 times a game.

I hope I have something to pass on to my children (or brats if you will) when I’m old and p*ssing myself (regularly). If there’s a chance that what I have gets taken away from them, then Cougars hit the nail on the head. For that reason some sort of state funding compromise and subsequent tax increase is my vote.

I had similar problem with my sensation, despite sync working with my previous hero and desire. I updated sync from the HTC website, didn’t work no matter what I tried. In the end I deleted all versions on my pc and used the version installed on the phone (set to disk drive and rip it off there). I didn’t even know it was on the phone.
