I think climbs are the place they first start to leave you….problem is as ‘richpips’ says they often ‘have skill and no fear’ on the downhills too!

I’m 65…..just give me a flat section on the road bike 😉

Update on shoes, ordered 1/2 sized down, fit like a glove.

Beautifully made/packaged….no problem with arch (arch is very similar to what you get on Shimano R191)

Found this on Velonews re sizing:

I should also note that I wore EU 42.5 R3’s, though I usually wear 43.5 (44 on tight fitting shoes). In fact the pair I tested originally came in for Nick Legan, but they were far too large for him. They seem to run somewhere between a half and full size large.

    Plus re the arch:
As a quick band-aid, I tried some ultra-thin insoles out of another pair of shoes. This lowered the arch a bit and opened up the middle of the shoe. Problem solved.

Think you’re right, its the houses towards the bottom of the picture that give it away. Good starting point if you want to park up and do west of Gower loop.

‘Clubber’ pic shows Kilvey hill which is to the East of Swansea, lots of trails and a dedicated downhill run 🙂

Check out Strava ‘explore’ function which will give you some idea of various trails.

Revolution Country Traveller is amazing value…if you also intend to tour or commute year round.

I still run a 1984 Raleigh Classic for winter commute

Had some great rides on the old trail, Hidden Valley was brilliant.

The Wall was very motorway like when it first opened, It’s only 1/2 away from me but I’d rather ride Gower trails 🙂

    ‘too fast/too close’

People do it all the time, other riders seem to think its some sort of loss of face to call out…..coming through, on left (or right)

Looks more like a Ribble or De Rosa 838, I suppose if you glance at it you might say its similar to an R5.

Its the tube profile’s that give the copy away, they are not squoval…….and the R5 is amazing to ride 😀

If its anything like the one I bought from them years ago, they are brilliant base layers….very warm
