Mark90 – that looks very good! I’ve got to tackle the floor next….

Mist coat = watered down first coat. It seals the masonry and stops it sucking up litres of paint.

I’ve recently done this to a breeze block garage and workshop that is separate from my house. I used external masonry paint so its tough and durable. I sealed the blocks first with a watered down mist coat. Its brightened the space up no end, well worth doing. HTH

I’ve recently got the Osprey Talon 22 for all-round duties and can’t praise it highly enough. It replaced a 10year old Berghaus jobbie and is in a different league. Well worth a look, but might be a tad over your budget – although worth every penny!

Cowbridge is a very popular market town about 15 miles west of cardiff on the A48. Good School, close to the coast, and to the trails.

trail_rat – you won’t be disappointed! I bought the Denon a couple of years ago when my old stereo “crapped out”. Brilliant piece of kit!

I’ve done the IAM course. Overall I thought it was really worthwhile and taught me a lot. My only real gripe with the course was that you are expected to stick rigidly to the speed limits. I’m not going to get into a debate about the rights or wrongs of speeding, but I did expect the course to teach more about ‘making progress’….which is difficult to do when you’re traveling slower than the rest of the traffic on the road! Road positioning, reading the road, anticipation, smoother, and more considerate driving are all useful skills to have though.

The last time I did this it was a success…..

The key is a menu that can be fully prepared the night before, leaving you free to serve beautiful food, and impress with your smooth talking without stressing in the kitchen.

I started with a crab and smoked salmon terrine – this is really easy to make, and can be kept in the fridge for at least a night, so you just have to serve it on date night. It is delicious.

Main – tuna steak, served with a (pre-made) chilli, ginger and garlic butter, and some purple sprouting, carrots and a couple of new potatoes – keep it light.

Dessert – I think I cheated and bought Gu ones…..It was in the bag so to speak by that point. Hope it goes well!

I used to ride with Nicole Cooke, all road stuff mind, so doesn’t count! She was quicker than most of the blokes even back then – some 20 years ago.

Could be the ignition switch….they commonly go on older stuff, like my old Corrado, not sure about newer stuff though.

I run a set of old Reba race’s (can’t remember what vintage, probably 09) set at 80mm on my 95 Lava Dome – they have v-brake mounts, they’re light, plush, adjustable – everything you ask for!

As I understand it the ‘animal’ has additional attachments which are designed to pick up hair from pets. They have exactly the same filtration as the base models.

After numerous dates on PoF (all nutters), I took the plunge and signed up to Guardian Soulmates last year. I only messaged one girl who I really liked the sound of. We met a couple of days later and instantly hit it off. 2 weeks later I cancelled my membership. This was all 10 months ago now. We got engaged recently, and I couldn’t be happier. Best £30 I’ve ever spent!

As mentioned above, Hardknott Pass is a must! Brilliant fun driving up it, and the road on the western side of it is amongst the most beautiful ribbons of tarmac in the country! Will be great fun in an MX5! I don’t know what level of hill walking you’re into, but Cat Bells is a nice walk.

There is a lane in Oxford that nowadays goes by the very respectable name of Magpie Lane….However, it used to be Oxfords Redlight District and was called Gropec?nt Lane….

I don’t understand. Why give the weight ‘without pedals’….they’re an essential part of the bike! I get the stipulation of ‘with mudguards/bottles/garmin etc….but without pedals?! Yeah, my bike weighs 5kg…without the wheels.

What kind of mileage do you do? For a 58 plate to have got to 100k it’s probably done largely motorway miles which are pretty stress free. If you’re doing under average and looking to keep the car for a few years it will even out in the long run. Any Cat write off is always harder to sell, regardless of the damage….

Go to the thermae bath spa (http://www.thermaebathspa.com/), and relax in the rooftop pool at sunset, followed by a glass of champers and a session in the steam rooms….

My little sis got a very good deal through the AA 0r RAC I think….It was basically an add on/supplement insurance to my Dad’s policy. Can’t remember the exact details, but it seemed pretty good.

How about a VW Toureg? Not chavy, comfy, and (if my very quick google search is to be belived) has a towing capacity of 3.5t – I seem to remember a Top Gear episode where one of these pulled a 747, or a combine harvester…

It might be worth looking at the EPC that (IIRC) should have been supplied with the flat at the point of rental?

Solo – I’ve taken ‘likes to laugh’ as a code for ‘so hideously dull and uninteresting that they can’t find any form of amusement in their own miserable existence and therefore will require you to provide it for them’….This code is normally at the end of about a 1 line description which includes ‘likes to go for drinks with friends and have nights in’….could be wrong though.

So let me get this straight, the three date rule:
If you get them into bed before the 3rd date then you’re both slags.
If you don’t get them into bed before the 3rd date then you’re both considered gay. Heads you win, tails I lose.

I’ll 2nd or 3rd the Becks Blues – get them real cold, and a slice of lime! Guilt free pleasure! I’ve also heard (not sure how reliable) that they have a fraction of the calories compared to ‘real’ beer, and they’re cheaper – everyone’s a winner!

Just make sure the keys are not left anywhere ‘reachable’ from the letterbox etc – this is the most common way to steal cars these days – with the owners keys.

Was the car broken into at home? If not, does the Sat Nav have ‘home’ saved as a pre-set?……
