Yeah I use my iPhone and the app is great, as you can tick off caches and comment etc.

But the person who it’s for doesn’t have a smartphone

Technical climbs become more about momentum and moving your weight around on the bike (you’ll develop a kind of hip thrust thing) rather than spinning an easy gear and trying to balance.

Try it, If you don’t like it no harm done.

Cheers for the ride last night guys, I had a great time.

Inspired by swingbings 100m wheelies and lunge’s wheel hops I’ll be down the skatepark practicing for the next ride!

And that big multistorey carpark would make an interesting strava run 😉

V666ern – Don’t worry I’ve already thought about it, I’ll being going for the low pov angle to make the stairs look mega steep

At the thought of clipped in face plants down concrete steps, I’ve just fitted flat pedals. Been for a spin, and totally had to relearn how to bunny hop properly.

    Looking forward to it!

I’ll be using my rigid genesis io, as it’s my only working mtb at the moment.

Jumping its great, but stairs have to be riden a bit slower.

I’d bring my bmx, but you’d all be expecting gnarr skills that I just don’t have!

Serious question, I like the sound of an urban ride but do you lot ride trials? as I can manage stairs and smallish drops, and never done an escalator but I’ll give it a go, but that’s the limit of my skills.

Oh, and can I come? 🙂

Pour a finger and sniff/sip it neat, roll it round your mouth and make sure it touches every bit of your tounge.

When you’ve finished it pour another finger but add a tea spoon of water and see if the taste/smell has changed. The drop of water will split the oils and either improve or weaken the flavours.

    Enjoy

    “give it some welly”

I get what it means, just, why welly?

When things get emotional, and especially when jealousy or revenge is a motivation, just apply one simple rule.

‘Will my actions bring about a positive result?’ if this answer is no your probably doing it for the wrong reasons.

Sainsburys had 350ml glenlivet for £11, so i picked up a bottle. I also have some famous grouse lying around so I can compare.

I’ll finish tea and settle down for a taste

Blimey, enough recommendations to fill several drinks cabinets!

I stood in asda for quite a while last night, but the older whiskies were around £30 and seemed a waste if I didn’t like it. Did nearly buy a bottle of monkey something or other tho!

I like the idea of a tasting session, I thought that only really happened with wine. There is a wetherspoons opposite my office so I may pop over one evening and see what they do.

Cheers guys, I hadn’t actually thought about orange cables!

And orange spiders for the rotors too!

Just been shopping around and wiggle did a lovely white/orange charge spoon, that’ll be my next holy grail search on eBay I reckon.

Thats the flexible section of your exhaust

Personally I wouldn’t drive around with it like that, if it gives you be left with two separate bits of your exhaust hanging loose.

Shouldn’t be expensive, but you need a new mid pipe. The same happened on my old Audi a4, the new mid pipe cost £60 and took the garage 30 mins to fit

Last night I ordered some orange ragley riser bars for my brown/copper coloured genesis io.

it’s either going to look wonderfully niche or absolutely gopping, I’ll post pics at the weekend if they arrive.

Blimey, I just thought they were round metal things!

So next question, if i wanted to keep things lightweight are there any brands to look out for or avoid? No many companies list the weight of just their rotors

So who does drop gel wrappers then?

There must at least one person on here who could own up and offer an explanation, or is the problem that the droppers genuinely don’t realise? (in which I wouldn’t expect you own up cos you wouldn’t know)

I have the basic kindle, and it’s great. Buttons are on both sides so there are loads of ways to hold it, the lazy one armed technique being a favourite of mine.

I always thought the kindle touch would get finger marks all over the screen too, not normally a problem. But when im reading in bed with a book light atached it would probably show up the greasy marks.

WD40 do a silicone based spray that is for use on rubber seals.

I did a night course at a local college for a term. I found the tutor to be very good mainly because she was very open minded to style and content.

However nearly all the other students were older ladies who all hoped to write romantic novels, so i never really had anyone to bounce ideas around.

I think it cost £40, and i would say definitely worth it.

Also entering competitions is a good way to hone your skills, as it makes you edit you work to fit a word count and really encourages you to write worthwhile content that an audience would appreciate.

I found the best competitions were the ones with a specific brief rather than open (write whatever you like). I once came third in a competition where the brief was ‘communication’. It really made me think about how to approach a theme, and i really enjoyed the writing process as a result.

There are forums for wannabe writers, but i found them to be inhabited by quite self indulgent people only really concerned with having their work read rather than critiqing others – That was a few years ago mind so it may be different nowadays.

Literally just picked one up this evening that I bought on eBay for £260.

Had a quick blast round my local woods and its really responsive and quick out the corners. I can see it getting a lot of riding time, well chuffed with it!

Had my BMX for a couple of months now and been riding on the new track in Tamworth, but i just can’t find the bottle to jump on it. So i’m planning on a trip to the track in Perry Barr for a few coaching sessions.

Definatley having similar issues with feeling a bit of a prat being 33yrs old and no ability. Thing is though the kids at the track are not fazed in the slightest by an old geezer on a bike and are really quite pleasant. Saying that having some other old geezers to ride with would be nice!

I did quite fancy a bash at racing next year, but until i can confidently jump i guess that ain’t going to happen.

But I have also been using the skatepark and have improved my bunny hops loads and can now almost fakie and do 180’s on the ramp, which oddly enough has been of use on my mtb.

Blood pressure and everything else was fine and no dizzy spells, or tiredness.

Some further googling suggests I could have heart disease, may need Thyroid hormone therapy or possibly a pace maker!

I’m going to stop now before google also tells me i have cancer, AIDS and Ebola.

Cheers for the replies guys, i’m off to ride my bike before i die….

Just been for a quick lunchtime session.

And after a few stutters at the top of the ramp i nailed it! What a feeling, if i didn’t have to come back to the office i would have stayed there all day long.

so it begs the question, what tyres for 360s?
