    Frozen, maybe?

There’s a chap on here who confessed to using a cheese grater to sprinkle frozen poo into his friends carpets in a revenge attack for nicking his girlfriend ( the level of planning was quite genius really).

Now who was that and where does he work?..

I’ve found free wheels to be a bit like bottom brackets. You destroy several cheap ones before finally buying a good one.

Plus the noise of the WI is awsumz!!!

Always used terminal to terminal with no problem.

But don’t do what I did yesterday and connect them the wrong way round. Lots of smoke and burning plastic as I fried my father in laws car!

motorists won’t realise that you can see without turning round and so your actions may take them by surprise

Exactly this. By turning your head you are signalling possible intent to move, change position or do something. Also making eye contact humanises you and makes the driver less likely to try something potentially dangerous.

I’d be interested if the naysayers also suggest we should remove rear view mirrors from vehicles as well.

Imagine how more observant car drivers would be if we did that?

I think they are a bad idea. They make you less likely to look over your shoulder, you’ll get lazy and less observant.

After a shower I used to leave notes written in the condensation on the bathroom mirror like “help me” and “don’t look under the bed”

They were invisible until the shower was running and steamed it back up ready for the next occupant

    Highland Earl from Aldi.

I got a bottle for Christmas, and I must admit the whisky snob in me stuck it to back of my shelf expecting to use it as a mixer.

In the interest of fairness I tried it straight last night and it’s lovely, infact more enjoyable than some of my single malts.

I think it was the clean look of a ss that I liked. I converted my geared bike for a few months, decided I preferred it and bought a ss specific frame.

Is there anything i can do to make myself more visable…

If it’s safe to do so try riding in primary position when passing a side road, you’ll be more visible and cars will have less room to ‘just nip’ out.

In the last week I met a beginner roadie who, after admiring my bike then asked me if it would be more comfortable if he waxed his balls.

A few days later I met an older chap on a vintage Claud butler who claimed to have invented the hollowtech 2 design, only he made the mistake of telling his mate who then stole his idea.

    Odd bunch them cyclists!

This may be relevant as I doubt the geometry of the xc3 is too different but I have an xc2.

I found it quite short which made it harsh and I did feel like the back end kicked around abit, but it was very fast and climbed like a rocket, which considering I bought it to race on it was ideal.

I’m actually selling it to fund a cyclocross bike, but if I wanted a racey mtb again I’d probably go with kinesis again.

That sucks about your bike, there are some real cretins around.

I’ve just stripped down my 9 speed hardtail, so my bits box is fairly full right now. Just post on here if you desperately need anything. I’d rather the spares keep you cycling than just gather dust in my garage.

My father law take a big carrier bag of bottles to the recycling on my fixie. As he rode off I shouted “be careful and don’t forget the pedals don’t stop!”

He returned half an hour later with his jeans ripped and a bruised toe. Said he struggled to get off it!

All you need to do now is razz a mtb round Birmingham city centre, like oooo I don’t know the urban ride coming up soon and you’ll definitely be a mountain biker again!

Actually where is that thread, could do with a bump i reckon…..

Were you teabagging the airblade ?

No, but it got dangerously close. If I got caught I could probably explain why I was trying to direct warm air onto my naked body, dangling my knackers in there? Not so much.

    Perfect for ss.

Like jekkyl said that first switchback climb on the monkey will be quite loose in this weather, but as long as you gurn plenty you’ll get up it.

    Enjoy

No idea, but I have just spent £80 on a metal bike stand for my garage, so I can stand all my bikes together in a neat row rather than lean them in a heap against the wall. Getting a bit of buyers remorse tbh.

    Looks good though!

I’m definitely up for razzing through the queensway. I don’t imagine it’ll be closed again for many years so this is too good an opportunity to pass up.

Plus it’ll look ace on the video!

Crap frame, and 8 speed tiagra make it one of the lowest spec road bikes you’ll see around. But I love it, cause well, it’s murdered out innit.

    Well almost.

Hora – I think mine is an example of what happens when a car isn’t looked after very well. But this would be true of any car brand not just alfa.

It has 60,000 on the clock and had new cam shafts at 40,000, and i suspect the piston rings are worn. Basically the 2.0 jts uses a lot of oil and if not checked regularly the engine runs dry.

The service history is a bit sketchy and I suspect it was a lease car at some point, so it didn’t get the love it needed.

I knew this when I bought it and got it cheap. But I enjoy tinkering and will be rebuilding the engine next month.

But don’t let that put you off, just shop around for one that’s been looked after.

Had a 156 2.0 JTS for about a month now.

Out of all the other cars that fit my criteria (4 doors for £2k) it looked and drove better than all of the passats, golfs, skoda and Fords i looked at.

It’s not mega quick but handles fantastic and is great to drive.

Practicality gives way to style in some areas, but i don’t care cos it’s ace!
