    1. 3-5 depending on how much working at home I can do
    2. 35 via the cycle path, a few miles less if I feel like using the roads
    3. Bristol/Bath
    4. 17-20mph

I’d be really up for tagging along if that’s ok? Definitely interested in the earlier start time aswell.

Gasman, thanks, that sounds just what I need. I will send a letter first as suggested above and then if nothing move on.

It wasn’t you, no, unless you have another forum name!

It may be crapness and that is what I assumed it was first of all.
He said he sent it 3 weeks ago and so I asked if he had any proof, or who he sent it with so I can chase up where it has got to, but he then went silent.

I have no problem with it being crapness if that is the case, I will happily wait if I knew that was the case, but he is just silent. I now have the rest of a new build and I just wanted to know if I needed to source a mech from somewhere else or hold out for a bit longer.

It was a bank transfer unfortunately, so no Paypal cover.

I got a friend to enquire about buying some forks they were selling and offer to post a cheque.

It is all so simple which is why I am a little hesitant to go down the legal route because if it is a scam, he is a very stupid scammer. He even offered collection for items, so something just does not sit right.

If I was getting answers to my e-mails then I would be less concerned but I am being completely ignored.

Thanks for the replies, I had not even thought about adding the costs, but you are right.

I will start with a letter then and see if I can avoid escalating it.

I see TJs point and I was aware of trying to be fairly restrained on e-mailing.

I sent one last week asking if he could let me know when he sent it and any tracking details, so that I could chase it down since it appears to be lost, but no reply.
I sent something similar again this week, and again no reply. I was hoping to just get some confirmation that it was sent really. I realise it shows a lack of trust, but in that it still has not turned up and I have nothing to show that it has been sent, I think that is justified.

I know he is still answering e-mails because I know someone who has been in contact with him about other items, so I can only presume that I am being ignored because he does not want to talk to me, which makes me think that he has not sent the other items and is avoiding sending the money back.

Cheers, I will give him the rest of the day to reply to my last e-mail, and then if not I will name and shame and see if I can not get hold of his address.

Was working for 20 hours on Friday, then worked yesterday, working again today. Can not beat disasters at your customers.
It does look lovely and sunny out of the window but at least I can tell myself all the trails round Bristol will be quagmires at the moment :-(

Brant, thanks for the reply. I just actually found them in stock in Psycleworks in Bristol and the 18" looked huge, much larger than I was expecting. 16" it is then

I have just got a Saris bones, the 2 bike version, to go on the back of a New Beetle convertible since nothing else would fit the stupid shape.

It has been rock-solid so far, and I am very impressed with the rack. It is miles better than any other rack I have user before. It seems quite a lot sturdier than the solo and I can not imagine it is a problem only ever putting one bike on it

I cycle that route every day. There definitely used to be a guy who did it regularly on a Montague, who always seemed to be going at a reasonable speed.
I have no idea how foldable it was, or even how easy he found it. I no longer see him anymore, so I am not sure if that is a bad sign!

I ride in from Bristol every day and don't have showers at the bath end but because it it pretty much flat along the cycle path I find it is quite easy to take it gentle-ish and not get too sweaty, so get away without needing a shower at the other end.

Ive just got some conti grand prixs, not the GP4000s, the normal ones (£20 for the non-folding version on CRC), 24mm and have been very impressed with them so far.

Got the first ever ski/snowboard descent of this face in the Alps. It was an awesome end to a whole winter of living there and riding/climbing every day

North-East face of the Hausstock in the Swiss alps if anyone wants to know

I don't know about the Elite 15, but the Elite25 has a pocket in the back for a hydration bladder, and a tube exit on the top right of the bag.

I guess that I may have a newer version than ajf above, because mine definitely has a hose exit. I use it with a hydration bladder quite often, and have had no problems.

I presume we are talking new beetle here? Ive got one, well my wife does at least. It's 4 years old now, never had a problem with it leaking at all. It is a pretty solid soft top, 3 layers I think, insulated.

The windows drop 1cm or so when you open the door and then seal up onto the roof when you close them which gives a very good seal, if that makes sense.

I tend to make sure I look after the soft top though, clean and re-proof it every couple of months just to be safe.

Getting bikes in it or on the back of it though, that is a whole other problem.

I also know a couple of people with soft top minis, both of which leak, but that may well be bad luck.

It is stupidly light. I got mine for the OMM this year and it worked perfectly all weekend and was actually comfortable, which is good, considering it has no back padding. The straps on the outside are surprisingly good too, managed to carry quite a few things in them.

As mentioned above though, it is very thin, so I am not sure how much abuse it will take which may be worth bearing in mind

I have an elite 20 and it does have a sleeve for a hydration pack aswell as hose exit.
Not sure about putting knee pads on it, I can have a look at it later and let you know

I was looking at one of these a couple of years ago, but after loads of bad reviews from people I went for a Gorenje instead.

Similar look and it has been great.

Ive got a Thule 9502 RideOn 2 bike tow bar carrier that has only ever been used once if you are interested. I would happily sell it for £50 or so if you were interested.

HI, just saw this post, I am hoping to hit the Quantocks this weekend and I always tend to do the same few combes and would really like to try some more. Any chance you could send me the maps too?

This measurement is fixed, and is never changed. It becomes a standard for measurement.

But what do you base this measurement on? If you pick an object, then this is dependant on temperature, pressure and whole host of other things. If you pick something like the distance light travels in a period of time, then how do you measure this? At some point part of this fixed measurement of yours is going to have to be based on a scientific assumption, and so your proof is just as valid (or invalid) as anyone elses.
Huge amounts of scientific effort have been spent defining the standard measurements we use, like distance and time, all of which in the end are based on assumptions of scientific knowledge

    Actually it’s Asynchronous

    </unneccessary pedantry>

It’s Asymmetric, technically speaking it is synchronous technology, just as all the other posters pointed out, the data rates are asymmetric.
    </even more unneccessary pedantry> ;-)

I was out there last night. It was great fun. Lots of snow on the up but not too much to make it completely unrideable and the descents were great. Not sure how much more will have fallen since then though

I have got a Thule 9502 2 bike rack going cheap if you are interested.
I bought it in anticipation of fitting a tow bar which turned out not to be possible. I have used it on another car but now it is just sitting gathering dust.
