My son (9) has a brand-x one on his bike. Made to work at lower pressures so all 30kg of him can push it down and up. He loves it and it has transformed his riding.

At Uni in Manchester in the 90s, got randomly assigned to a lab group of 3 people. One of them was a mate, I did not know the other.

Next week he asked me if I have lived in Sri-Lanka about 16 years ago, which I had. He then tells me that his mum was the mid-wife that delivered my youngest brother in Colombo. It was compeltely true, my parents still remember her.

I also had a PlanetX one that I sent back as part of the recall. I have also used the Alpkit one which is better, boils at a simila rate but just seemed better made.
I used it alongside a JetBoil and there didnt seem to be much difference in speed of boiling.

I have used a Deuter cross air 20 for at least 5 years now, 15 miles each way.
It lifts the bag off your back which helps a lot with the sweatiness. Its still not ideal but a lot better than anything I used before.

Wiper & True do a lovely small beer, called just that.
Im also partial to Wild Beers Lirpip, similarly weak. The call it table beer, so that might be a term worth searching for.h.

Another vote for the Vitus here.
I got mine a Vitus Nucleus 24. It was the only thing in stock at the time, but I have been very impressed by it, the spec is great and it isnt too heavy.
He has come on huge amounts on it compared to the Frog 52 he had before.
I think the forks are a bit pointless, he is too light to get much travel out of them, but he lo9ves having real forks like me!
I also got carried away and got a dropper for it which has probably made the biggest difference to his riding.

My lockdown purchase, thanks to whoever on here pointed out the Vendetta deal at the start of lockdown

Really deserves a better photo, but my new frame, ordered at the start of lockdown finally arrived.
Definitely deserves some new, shinier parts, but this will do for now.

We have something a bit like this:

It only folds into panels that are about 60cm across, so that is as compact as it goes, but it works well across the 3m gap we have to span to keep our puppy in the kitcken.

Actually, it is this one, it has a little gate that is more use for the 5 year old daughter to get through than the dog as she cant step over it:

It’s true, some scientists are saying that EMR is fine, but a lot are saying it is not.

I think you have your numbers wrong there. Most scientists say it is fine, a few say it is not. The article from the Lancet you posted to is from the ORSAA who appear to be a very opaque group who’s aim is to prove this harm, hardly an unbiased source, Lancet or otherwise.
I would also take a look at the editors letters that followed to respond to this

If you are willing/able to do some simple scripting, Octave (free attempt at Matlab) will do this for you.
It can read FLAC files, then just run it’s FFT function and you will get what you want but that may be a little more involved than you are looking for.
Similarly, Python would work, something like this:

Performing a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on a Sound File

johndo, you can get something similar for free if you use the Elevate Strava plugin:

    https://thomaschampagne.github.io/elevate/

I had Summit for a free trial and it didn’t do anything for me, this worked as a free alternative

I have just bought a Fenix 5 from those deals, waiting for it to arrive. I am about to put my year old Vivoactive 3 (gunmetal) on ebay. If you are not desperate to buy new, let me know if you are interested before I list it. This wasn’t meant to be a stealth ad, sorry if it comes across that way, I was just following this thread for the Fenix 5!

I’ve been really impressed with this, more than I thought I would be:

    https://www.thespicery.com/currylegend

The mixes it uses are very good and by mixing them you get a lot of combinations. Not your usual curries either.

It takes me 50 minutes normally, 45 if I really go for it and the wind is in my favour.

I only do it 3 days a week but I do it all year

I do a bit of the opposite, I go from Bishopston to Chepstow so I am familiar with the Chepstow to A38 part. After that though I’m not sure what the best route across is.

It’s easiest to go direct from Aust through Olveston and Tockington, up Fernhill to the A38. The A38 itself is never as bad as it first looks. Because it is a dual carriageway and gets a lots of cyclists, vehicles tend to give you quite a bit of room when overtaking.

I suspect you may then want to cut through Bradley Stoke but I am not familiar with cycling round there so can’t really help.

I got one for my dad about 15 years ago now. He loves it and wears it all the time.

Some of the stitching was wearing out on it so rang them up a couple of weeks ago and even though we had lost the receipt, they agreed straight away to either repair or replace it free. Awesome service.

My 5 year old got a Frog 52 with thumb shifters for Christmas. We went out on Christmas day and within 10 minutes he was using all of the gears. He still has not quite worked out the fact that he has to change before he stops if he wants to start in a different gear, but apparently that is where I come in to lift it up and spin the pedals whilst he changes to where he wants to be.
As people say above, it massively opens up the range of ground he can now cycle on.

The Felin Fach Griffin, just up the road from Brecon fits those criteria:

    How compact are you thinking?
I have a Gaggia baby that is in perfect condition and I keep meaning to put on ebay. I would sell it for £50 if you are interested.

When I was there in September they were all off-site, all along the same road. I used Europcar and they were definitely off site. As above, lots of work going on so it may have changed.

This map on the website shows them off-site at the place they were in September

I’ve been there a few times and always had to use the shuttle bus. I don’t think there are any at the terminal itself.
The bus comes every few minutes and it is only 5 minutes to the hire depots, but I am not sure you can avoid it

For the last 2 winters I have worn my Stolen Goat Orkaan short sleeve (similar to a Gabba) almost exclusively from October until April. Combined with arm warmers it has been all I have needed except on the coldest days when I have put something underneath.

This is only on a 1 hour each way commute and going hard, but for that kind of riding it has been perfect. It is definitely the best road top I have ever had through a winter.

I am just about to put a set of Fox Float 32s onto the sale pages if you are interested. 9mm QR, 1 1/8th steerer. They are used but I had a full service from Mojo last year and have ridden them 4 times since then so the internals are good as new.

I was hoping to get £120 for them, PM if you are interested.

As mentioned by lunge, if you can not get the position correct, have a look at Speedplays.
I started getting knee problems when I moved to R550s. I tried a lot of moving things around but nothing helped.
I moved to Speedplays at the start of this year and the problem has gone away. I don’t think that it is that they have more float, it is more down to the fact that they don’t try to centre your foot. Unlike MTB pedals, most road pedals seem to have a gentle force moving your foot into the middle position. Speedplays dont do this at all.

I have a Z1C and I have dropped it twice. The touchscreen and the LCD are all one unit as far as I know and any cracks to the glass completely kill it.
If you can find the correct connector, you can plug a mouse into the USB port to confirm it still works, but you need a new screen.
As monkeychild says, put a tempered glass protector on it, that seems to have stopped me breaking my screens. The protector has a load of cracks but the screen is fine.

I looked at the weeride but went with the Yepp Mini in the end, it gave me just a bit more room at the front.
I agree that front mounted seats are great, you get to interact that bit more. Proper off-road is a but much though when they are little, as mentioned above.

Oh, and I also managed to justify a new hardtail. It’s for the baby, of course!

I thought it was great. We were in the SWMC, but started with the main event, just to get a few more laps in since we were there.
The results look a bit odd for the SWMC though, unless someone really was managing to pull of 20 minute laps.

I have been running one for 2 years, it’s been great. Only problem is that it appears to have welded itself into my steel frame so I can not get it out. I am weighing up which is worth more, the frame or the post, so I can decide which to cut when I have to remove it.

As far as I was aware, as James says, there are:

Bolt-In/Up : 10mm Bolts go from the outside of the dropout into threads in the hub. Uses normal QR dropouts, but allows you to get it much stiffer. Like this hub:
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17387

Bolt-thru: 10mm axle that goes all the way through, bolted on the outside. Also stiffer like bolt-in

Maxle: 12mm axle, stiffer but needs a maxle QR which don’t come cheap

    mattjng

I think I have some lying around at home you can have if you want the Maxle version, you will need a suitable wheel though, with a 12mm/maxle axle.

What I did with mine was just get the modifications for my rear wheel (Hope Pro II) to make it bolt in, which stiffened it up and no need to change wheel.

I have got a Pure Evoke Flow that I use for all of that. As long as your NAS supports UPnP, and I presume it does if you are accessing it from Mediaplayer, then the Pure will have no problem playing.

They do bigger internet radios, like the Sirocco if you want 2 speakers, but I just connect the audio out of my Evoke to my amp when I want to, and then have the flexibility to unplug it and move it round the house and garden with me when I wander around.

The screen is a little small and fiddly to access large music libraries, but you can get round that by setting up playlists and there is a web interface to manage favourites for internet radio / listen again stuff, which makes that easier when you first set it up.

I received a letter recently from the ‘Head of Rectification’ at EDF recently.

Turns out he is in charge of telling me that I need a new electricity meter, which was a relief.

bristolbikes, Casamia has a Michelin star, and the few times I have been there I would definitely say it deserves it. The last tasting menu I had there was one of the finest meals I have ever eaten, really amazing. So I guess quite a makeover.

If you want small, atmosphere and something quirky, definitely Bells. They seem to have stopped the Tandoori ice cream a few years ago, but its always been god when I have been

What kind of food and where in Bristol?

Casamia in Westbury is some of the best, and swankiest food you will get in Bristol. It’s very nouveau cuisine though, so if you are not in the mood for a tasting menu and some slightly pretentious food, I would stay away.

Othereise, down nearer the centre, these are some of my favourites at the moment:
    Riverstation
    Glassboat
    Flinty Red

I would also agree with Wrecker, although the service at Bordeaux quay was appalling last time I was there, but the food was good.

They all have different atmospheres, some smaller and cosy, some large and bright, all depends what you want, and of course what kind of food.

Suresignal will work on any broadband, it just needs a fast enough network connection.
It is not a signal booster though, it is a proper 3G phone cell, so completely agnostic to phone type, unlike UMA.
It is Vodafone only at the moment though and will only work with phones that you register to it, but if its the same people in the office all the time then that should not matter.
