    Thank you!
If this includes the shock then I would say it’s ok.
The carbon 109 will be great for sure. But I guess it will we out of my budget.

@Deveron53: BB height is measured from the floor to the middle of the bottom bracket. And then if you measure from the floor to the middle of the wheel axle and subtract this from the first value you get the relative BB height 🙂

Question to those who already have a frame:
Can you measure the BB height relative to the wheel axle and also comment which headset (external or internal) and fork travel you have?

Geometry data says only 13,69″ to the ground for the 558mm A2C configuration, but this depends heavily on the tire size. Guess it result in +8mm from axle to BB, but with larger tires it could also be less.

Would be interesting for me because I’m still undecided which headset to choose. Internal for shorter wheelbase or external for more BB clearance. And +8mm already sounds low enough 🙂

    Thanks Luca,

I’m similar in size (1,75m) and still try to find the right size, but it seems that M should be ok. Das ist feel longer than the Reign X? I also have a Reign, but a 2006 Reign (without X) 🙂
Did you already ride switchbacks or other tight stuff and think that the long wheelbase is a problem, or not?

I was also in the Dolomites, but only for skiing. But I know you have very steep mountains, so if you say it climbs good I trust you 🙂

How large are you and how do you like the fit?

Any ride impressions yet? Especially in terms of how the sizing is. Still undecided to go for S or M at 5’9″

I really like to yellow one in the first post.

Looks good. Did you weigh it?
The DT skewer thing is weird. I thought Maxle and X12 are not compatible. But DT only makes X12 skewers according to their webpage.

Already sold out or why did the date on CRC jump a month further to 7.7. for most models?

I’m very interested in one, however won’t order till they are finally available. Too bad it has been delayed so long.
Also still undecided on the size.

The PDF states that “Geometry based on
558mm axel to crown”, which corresponds to a 170mm fork with semi-integrated headset.
So with a 160mm fork it would be a little bit steeper and the BB would be even lower. I think the 13,7″ is even low for a 170mm fork.
However I think a BB height relative to the axle measurement would be more helpful, because we don’t know which tires were used to measure this.

Too bad that it’s available in June, I’m also very interested in one.

I have the same question about the size, and I’m also 5’9″ (or 1,75m, I’m german ;)).
I think based on the reach the small sounds right, but the toptube sounds better on the medium. Also the wheelbase on the medium is really long for an AM bike. Those 75° seat angles are confusing for size choosing 🙂

Is the Monarch Shock custom valved for the Mega? In the singletrack review the criticised that it’s hard to adjust. Has something changed there for the production model?
