    He’s wearing a Met Parachute.

All be it one that is several sizes too small.

    I’m guessing it’s a Bianchi

The Nat Hist is one of the best museums in the World!!!! Even the building itself is stunning!

    Have to agree.

The last time I went they had expanded the dinosaur exibit to include lots of life size models.

And you have to see the Blue Whale.

Despite Stoner’s comments I’d recommend Hasbean for coffee.

They have very extensive tasting notes for each blend so, if you know what sort of taste you’re going for, you should be able to find it.

For example I prefer a less bitter, more spicy taste so go for the Sumatran blends.

Delivery is fast as well. Usually within a day or two of roasting.

Never really got the Foo Fighters.

Suggesting the Eels just shows a lack of awareness of their work.

If its over 40 years old (probably is, if my math works) then it gets sent to a swiss lab. Over £1000. Ouch.

    Blimey.

It may be worth trying to find a cheaper UK based alternative.

    How about asking on TZ-UK?

Someone there may be able to make a recommendation.

Not convinced about the Triumph Stag either.

I just checked the front page. This was answered correctly with the second reply.

How did it get to 8 pages?

    Replacement sounds the best option.

They don’t hit the Stella every weekend and start fights and ddrink themselves to oblivion.

The adults don’t either though do they.

Children learn by example. It’s difficult to complain about underage drinking when a lot of the messages they get from the media and adults are that the main aim of drinking alcohol is to get drunk.

The Uk generally has a problem with drinking. But the Government makes lots of money out of it so let’s keep quiet or just blame parents.

Stuff like this is aimed at the teeny tiny minority of “Chaotic” families, who genuinely don’t have the skill, or awareness to realise that drinking 15 pints a night in front of little Dwain, or Chardonnay,

Somehow I don’t think that group of people will spend their time discussing the latest statements by the Chief Medical Officer.

old coach road in the lakes,

There’s some bits in Whinlater (sp?) that are quite rough as well.

Probably the ideal bike would be a hardtail with fairly narrow tyres, (conti xc 1.5s or something similar), so you get the comfort of an MTB with less drag.

    Agreed

After my road ride on Saturday I would agree about mudguards.

Anything to avoid the taste of roadsalt in your mouth.

I use an Uncle John cross bike to commute. Copes with roads and towpaths. Carries a pannier and is comfy.

I did the Sustrans route in three days.

The off-road bits are quite demanding. Particularly the Old Coach Road.

I did it on my Heckler which was overkill but it was the only bike I had.

It would be fine on a hardtail. Just choose some sensible tyres that you can pump up hard for the road bits.

children pay scant attention to the blatherings of their parents

I’m sure that’s true. I was just pointing out that your blanket view, ‘all alcohol is bad’, may have pushed them to try it.

Discussing these things with them from an early age,

I don’t know that it would be a very interesting discussion: “Alcohol is a pointless and dangerous waste of time and money”, more or less says it all…

yet out kids both consume it to excess at times

    Perhaps your approach doesn’t work?

CBeebies does seem to try very hard to be ‘inclusive’.

The population of Balamory seems to be unlike most small Scottish Islands.

Do the Government really think that tellling a teenager they can’t drink will be effective? Have any of them ever met a teenager?

I’ll continue to let my kids have the occasional small glass of champagne at Christmas etc. I hope they don’t find out about when my two year old ate the rum truffle. I could be in big trouble.

I think I’m beginning to understand how the global economy became f*****.

I don’t think you can blame Smee for that one.

I think you can if he’s been teaching the banks how to do sums.

If we’re talking infinity, are there more fractions or decimal numbers

if they have each paid £9 for the room, plus the £2 for the bellboy, when you add it all together you get £27 + £2 = £29… when they originally pay £30… so where has the extra £1 gone?

That’s just adding when you should be taking away though.

    £9 each = £27

£2 for the bellboy and £25 for the room =£27

    What missing £1?

If you mean 1.9999.. with the 9s going on forever then that does equal 2.
