That’s what I want to know too. I always thought it would be like trying to insure a rally car!

P20 – how did your home insurance cover it?

To add insult to injury (or stupidity), took the bike out of the car this morning…and have discovered I have left the pike maxle in the car park…with no chance of getting back there before the weekend!

Not that I’m in current need of it obviously! Lol

It wasnt a big off so just gave it a very quick glance, jumped on and rode back to the cafe…where I then discovered it. Like I say it was nothing I haven’t done dozens of times before…but it just landed on an unlucky placed rock.

Must admit my hip, wrist and hand are hurting quite a bit now…but not as much as my pride or bank balance!!

Hope the wrist gets better soon.

It was on that new small black section with the woodwork. First time doing it too. Ah well…if it can be saved great…if not it’ll have to be the blue 631 version. It just rides so well over everything and is only 25lb for a do it all bike. Just have to lose a few lbs from the midriff instead lol

2.2 Contis on AC all mountains and they’re 24mm inner I think.

Thanks for all the responses including the baiting ones…they were funny! ;)

Thanks Cheezy. Dropped a note to Dan to see what can be done.

Tbh it didn’t feel like the greatest of accidents and I’ve had much worse. Everything was miraculously OK. No damage to the forks, pedal or bars…not even a scratch. Must have just got really unlucky with a protruding rock!!

And I thought helitape prevented these things lol ;)

    As requested Darren.

Thanks to all…will be dropping Enigma an email and pics to see what they think. If not I’ll try Dan at Stanton and see if they’ll be selling any on the cheap (with it being an unfashionable 26er lol)

Really…had no idea it could be fixed! Yippee!! :)

I actually prefer a HT at Cannock, but mine have been a Soul and a Ti frame so pretty comfy no matter what. My first experience on an Orange Crush did leave me sore for a couple of days though…but I hated that bike!

If anything I think the SLX parallelogram is stronger due to the extra weight in it.

    1) Lose weight
    2) Give up fags
    3) Get a bike skills course
    4) Ride more trails (Skye and the lakes)
    5) Find some riding buddies (the solo thing is getting a bit lonely after 10 years lol)

XT for the bling factor…but SLX finish is more durable IME.

Next to no difference in weight, but re-sale will be better on the XT.

Ti slackline is the best frame I’ve owned. Did the dyfi enduro on it. Only got it in May but won’t be changing for a long while yet. Proper do it all bike with dual position forks…and incredibly comfy and composed in most situations.

I believe it can take anything up to 7 years to fully get over it. I’ve been split up for 8 years and still resent seeing my ex with someone…and I was the one that left! It’s a bloke thing I think.

Yes, I went. Got totally tanked up, can’t remember how I got home and still can’t…also had a go at the boss. Still made it to work the next day. More drinks with another dept. tonight.

If it sells at that price, someone may have a bit of a bargain IMO.

Only dubious point is the ad says SLX drivetrain, but the cranks are deore.

Nice kitchen IMO…but may have spotted a white stolen iPhone and potted plant.

Like the look of either Kingdom vendetta 2 or Stanton switchback in green, raw or ti.

HTs are definitely the most attractive IMO (apart from the clown wheel ones :) )

Will be good to hear some feedback on them. The Race version looks pretty good for the money (compared to a transition patrol for example)

Kind of depends what Dan is up to. Sometimes replies are really quick, but if he’s abroad it could be a while.

When running a work components 32t with a SLX double, the chain ran over the bolt tabs as the were quite high and rounded. You may need to run some spacers to stop the rub.

I really appreciated his honesty tbh. He tried…it failed. Can’t blame him for his attempt.

As for the 27.5 thing, well him and Paul presumably have family to support, so sticking with 26″ could be a gamble not only with the business, but also to those they hold most dear.

Uberbike BB IMO. Just as good as Hope and has lasted 4 times longer than my SLX. It is £35 mind but a good trade off between longevity and cost.

Someone on eBay buys them in bulk and sell for £10.

I just bought a shimano road 10 speed 16t cog for £3 ish and works fine with my XT cassette

    Singletrack bikes they were from

Would have to be my Slackline Ti. 25lb xc/trail 130/160 machine…again like others, wish it had bottle mounts and also a 142 rear. Such a versatile bike and sooo comfy for a HT.

    Simply not enough.

Either I’m going to have to ditch my bikes…or my wife. I’m sadly in two minds at the moment! Lol

Got the correct length…but now concerned I got the wrong one?!

My headtube is ZS44/ZS56 but bought the EC44/ZS56 (as I couldn’t find this exact combo and thought the external top cup was needed).

Have written to Works for some help.

Was thinking this myself…only 11.5km a lap so not sure what routes it’ll take in, especially as it said blue and reds?

Doesn’t one of the Bird Aeris’ come in at about £1500?
