If I was you I’d look at the new YT Capra 2015 range. You can pick one up with much better kit than the V4 for less than £2k with the current exchange rate…but you’d have to wait until May. My finger has been hovering over the buy button all day!

I just use a massive old picnic blanket…cost me about £6 from dunelm I think.

If you can wait for the switchback I would. If you’re not bothered about wheel size, I’d get their slackline.

Depends on the bike I suppose. Transition advert the chain line for their bikes for example…but I normally do the triple and with inner ring set up. You can always use spacers to.

As far as I’m aware you can’t get tokens for dual pikes. The air shafts don’t take them.

Dual pikes don’t have the tokens so they can feel very linear IME

You can pick up shimano road 16t cogs for £4. They’ve worked fine on my XT cassette/expander set up

Well that’s my next bike sorted…if they’ll be able to meet the demand?!

Really good experience with these guys via email etc as stated above. Their expander cog is really good as is working out much better than my Hope in terms of longevity. It is a bit heavier than most others but perhaps that’s why its lasting longer.

Just remember the shipping and VAT.

Only ever had issues inflating Conti’s…but they’re renowned for being a PITA to begin with, otherwise good piece of kit for the money IMO.

Apologies…mine is actually the bike ‘hand’ stand with 2 feet not the tripod like the bike ‘hut’ stand.

Had it 2 years and zero issues. Folds up pretty well too.

I’ve got a bikehut one from amazon for about £60 inc delivery. Most essential bit of kit I’ve bought since my dropper!

I have a 50mm syntace like honourable and it is a seriously good bit of kit. Was about £70 inc post and tax. They go down to 20mm too I think. Only issue is they’re -/+5mm rise.

Mrhoppy & downhilldave – what bikes have you got? My bandit bobs quite a bit with the inline fully open. Will try adjusting LSC a bit more

On my shock I remember to use climb on the ups and then usually remember to use descend mid way on the downs.

Forks, fully open all the time.

OP – total change of subject… but did you ever sell that maxle from a couple of months back?

Send me an email if you still have it (as you’ve not got an email address on here).

If there’s hardly anything in it…couldn’t you get someone to haul for you instead? Be a damn sight cheaper wouldn’t it?

Really? So I’m not the only stupid one then ;)

I tend to use my finger on the downs as using my thumb gives me less grip on the bars for some reason, and use my thumb going from ups to flat and along the flats. Nice to have the option if anything else. Also much better if your using a Saint shifter with the bigger levers IME.

Finally got around to sending mine back. They received it Friday and I had a brand new one back on the Monday.

Obviously not happy with it not working initially…but fantastic service from TFTuned in getting it sorted in good time.

Keep using it through the winter and wait IMO (less chance of ruining that lovely carbon frame before the Summer) :)

Transition Scout is 125 rear/140 front?

    matther01

If you’re on the Cycle 2 Work scheme, you can get the frame only for about £700-£800. Add a set pikes and spank oozy 295’s and your looking at about £1650…then transfer all your bits from the existing bike!

Looks like the Trance is a goer. £1650 for rolling chassis, including pike rct3 and a decent set of wheels…which is basically the same price as many 140+ frames tbh. Seems a no brainer.

I’m 5’7″…which maybe why I find them a bit unwieldy!

I shall be selling a whole host of good kit in the classifieds over the next wee while so keep an eye out for those that are interested.

Truth be told I’d love a kona process DL or transition patrol…but don’t have £4k

It could be I opt for 150 or even 160 rear if they pedal well enough…just wanted 140 minimum. Norco range looks good for example.

Heard the konas are good…albeit heavy.

    Pascoe frame’s nice…but not £1800 nice!!!

Generally midlands and Wales, but visiting family in France this year so hopefully the Alps at some point.

29ers are a definite no. Tried a few and just don’t get on with them. Great speed, but just feel less nimble on the twisty stuff.

Did you get the silver frame only? I’m really tempted as the c2c would make it about £750.

Would just need to sell my other bikes first

Deviant – I have been looking at the trance. Do you know what the e2e is on the shock?

    hambl90 – I have a bandit…but has always felt just a tad too compact.

Which sight are you getting? I really like the look if both the 7.1 & 7.2

Defo do it before first ride and double check for ALL contact points!! Ruined the paint job on a bike on the first ride because I was to lazy and eager to ride it! I even helitape the inside chain stay where the brake disc is to help stop any digs when installing and removing the rear wheel.

I just use thick helitape. Looks naff…but costs nowhere near invisiframe and its more robust…until you whack a massive boulder and dent your seatstay!

Some of the new full build Norco Sights have a discount at Evans (though not available yet). Think you can buy them frame only but not sure where in the UK.

If its a mk3 it’s fine…but 120mm was always the best IME (ducks for cover)

I’m changing to M&S insurance this week after this incident as at least I’ll be covered in part for full suss frame.

Dan offered me a crash replacement, but still too hefty so he’s trying to sort a replacement stay for enigma to use.
