Starship – I’d have all 4 of them, with a Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer thrown in for good measure to!

It depends what type of OCD you have. With mine…colour schemes are a problem.

I often have to wear socks the same colour as my ties (even though no one sees them)!

It’s a bit like only being able to open a packet of crips the right way up. Even though you can open them either end…opening them from upside down end just feels wrong… but you have no idea why!

In MHO I would say no they wouldn’t look silly…gives the bike a bit more character. Though just remember you can’t swap them to another bike unless its a yellow frame.

I run red pedals against my black frame as most other components have red… seatpost clamp, grips etc.

I was toying with the idea of getting orange pedals for a Cotic Soul, but got black so that I can change them to another bike if needed (without looking daft)…but would run Orange if I wasn’t such a spend thrift!

Why does nothing surprise me in today’s society. A man does the right thing and ends up being rewarded by being robbed and ends up dead.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

In the same boat…saving for a Soul (but with shorter forks).

So…I take it Boardman bikes are hand built in the UK by Mr Boardman?

Sure the full bike doesn’t look that great spec wise, but I like the 120/140 mismatched suspension.

I’ll probably wait and get the Cotic mismatched susser anyway, but probably be just as expensive.

Looks a very good bike for the money. I think they have some kind of height, leg, arm length chart to help you decide what size you need.

It will change your riding, probably giving you more confidence in the rougher stuff, it did for me…but after time you’ll come full circle and also want a hardtail again!

Either the Hitler scene or the ‘near…far away’ scene.

Absolute classic series. Like all greats…he died too young!

Thanks Dave – LBS might be the most sensible way me thinks…can’t even put a shelf together properly!

Try Automaxi Supra’s. They get good right up’s and are cheap, sturdy and mine don’t make too much noise either.

Try Larkspeed – mine were £40.00 plus postage

It was more the fact that 5 officers within 50 yards of each other were putting tickets on quite clearly road taxed vehicles that hadn’t paid their pay and display tickets (or they had expired) and some were on double yellow lines. Most were less than 3 years old so wouldn’t need an MOT.

Surely it would take 1 officer to do all of this, not 5 that also had to take transit to do it (which was parked up at the side).

I’m not saying the police shouldnt do their job, just be more sensible about.

What am I to think when I next hear the BBC state the police are up in arms about a lack of resource…when I just saw 5 putting tickets on cars in two adjoining streets within eyesight of each other when it would clearly take 1?!

To add to that, using Traffic Wardens I would assume would also be far cheaper no matter who pays them (as I am pretty sure the starting salary for a PC in training is about 19k or at least it was in 2007).

Now this all sorted (well kind of)…Cy can I also suggest that you introduce a custom colour scheme much like Orange or Santa Cruz. Even being able to pick from the orange, green and blue on each bike would be brilliant and I’d be happy…(checks wallet)…to pay a bit more too!

Dunno druidh, I run an ex8 but often wish I could run a 140mm fork especially when I’m in Wales. Trek told me they don’t warranty a 140mm fork on an ex8 so this would be right up my street.

Like Frankers I used to run a 150mm, but it was complete overkill.

This bike would suit me well with a Talas up front.

Cy’s testing out two new full susser’s.

Alu 100mm rear and 100-120mm front or a steel 125mm rear with 120-140mm up front (both based on the rocket suspension system).

Never seem to have luck with gloves until now. Endura singletrack inner lining in the fingers would always come loose, 661 Raji fitted in the fingers but the palms bunched up giving me really bad blisters…after many years Troy Lee Air in medium are 100% brilliant (if a wee bit expensive).

Knowing me I probably did get something…but chucked it in the bin. I tend to get loads of crap through my letter box…especially taxi, pizza flers and political stuff.

Living in a cul de sac is a bit of PITA. Did get me thinking what would happen if my missus went into labour today tho?!

I guess it’s all a question of personal taste and function. 26ers general accelerate better and turn better, 29ers roll faster and are a bit more stable. Neither is better or worse depending on your riding style and discipline. Each to their own and all that.

I’m pretty short and waiting until a small Solaris comes out next Feb. Until then I’ll stick to my FS 26er and 26er hardtail.

650b is supposed to become the next big thing and surpass both…being the best of both worlds…apparently?!

    Cotic Soul?

Tough enough for 140mm and soft enough to ride all day, with added bonus of taking a proper dropper post and 1lb lighter than a Bfe.

A recent study of drivers behaviours show that if you are wearing a helmet, drivers will give you less room than if you’re not wearing one. Presumably they think it’s OK to drive closer to you as you will be protected in the event of a crash! Nuts

I was wrong…it’s a 93′! I thought it had purple forks but it didn’t, it had a very patriotic USA flag and grey forks.

Thanks folks…found one but don’t know if I can justify the price.

I was reliably informed that most people breathe incorrectly as they move from childhood into adulthood. This may sound daft, but try sucking air into your tummy, so that your tiny sticks out and then gradually fill up your lungs instead of just filling up your lungs and puffing up your chest. I’m really unfit but did this for my test and scored higher than someone who plays a trombone!

Rev’s can be dropped to 140 or 130 if needed. Velvet RL2 DLA do 110-140 as do Rock Shox Sektor RL Dual coil (but these are on the heavier side 2000g.

Most folks on here reckon 120 is the best for a Soul, but there are quite a few that run Talas forks or Revs at 130.

I got a pair of new uncut tapered Fox Float 32 Factory RLC FIT 120’s from someone on here for £400 for my Soul build.

CRC are doing white Fox 120 Terralogic RLC FIT tapered for £489 if you can afford them and live without Kashima…mine don’t.

What colour frame are you going for?

Oh there is also a Soul review with 120 and 140 forks in What Mountain bike out this month on the 23 Oct…have a read in WH Smiths.

Jesus…I had a 17 Orange crush and I’m 5’10” and it was bloody awful for anything other than going downhill!

Ragleys 2013 Blue Pig should be out soon if you can wait, by the sounds of it a bfe would be up your street. Great for running a dropper post and great geometry.
