I run Spank 747’s and they’re pretty good…but if you’re after cheap and 720mm then try CRC for Answer Pro Taper’s…think they’re going for about £30-£35in a range of colours (but relatively heavish at 315gms).

nickdavies – using sintered pads on resin only discs will warp the disc due to excessive heat build up…which is why I ditched the crap RT64’s on my EX8’s and went Ice Tech instead…any excuse for an upgrade!

Using sintered non-finned for the winter and resin non-finned in the dry on my SLX brakes on both bikes.

Tend to stick with Shimano pads from the Continent, but they still appear pretty expensive when compared to Superstar and Uber…may give them ago next time around.

Had the same dilemma a few days ago and posted here with no response.

Found the PCS9 on Amazon for £66 and the Raleigh at Ribble for £53.

The Raleigh folds so takes up less room, is cheaper and also got 10/10 in a bike mag (cycle something or other).

Waiting for it to be delivered in the next couple of days.

At £53 inc delivery and the good write ups, seemed daft not to try it. Most other places sell it for between £60-£100.

Running SLX and XT ice tech rotors and non finned pads on both bikes…work brilliantly for me rain or shine!

I have a Springer/Lab cross, specifically bred as a gun dog to get rid of the Lab hip issue.

He never stops running, has great recall, is extremely obedient and great with people. He’s also a hell of a lot smaller than a normal lab (some which I have seen are monsters…especially the chocolate ones). He also costs hardly anything to feed and so far hasn’t needed any vet treatment other than the standard jabs.

Have a look in the rescue centres before buying anything pure bred, as there are some really good dogs that deserve a home and don’t have issues.

Poor Alfie was going to be shot by a farmer for simply being ‘too domesticated.’

The only down side is that he is squirrel crazy!

Got my Soul from 18bikes on Tuesday and she’s almost as gorgeous as my wife in orange…the bike that is. Can’t wait to get out of this hospital (having a son…any minute/day now) so that I can get her built up.

Running her with 120mm foxs. Taken 9 months to get all my parts but well worth it! Obviously didn’t time the baby thing properly!

Anyone run full outer gear cables with their Soul? Heard some people drill out the mounts to accomodate this?

Not sure about tops but my shorts are medium UK and they are quite big on my 33 inch waist!

Trying to justify the extra cash, but not sure I should do it now or wait until the SLX kicks the bucket.

Great customer service by the sounds of it…and IMO…a much better colour too! Love that daisy smurf blue.

    I have the same dilemma.

Ordered a Soul on Fri, but will swap my Reverb from Ex8 as and when I need it. Will only take a few mins.

Maybe Santa will send me Lev next year, but until then I’ll just grin and bear it!

They look good…but might hold out for the 120/140 Cotic frame coming

I had 2010 17″ and at 5’9″ it was not comfy at all.

Had to sell it after a year due to the harsh ride and lack of breathing room on the ups (even with a longer stem than the stock 60mm).

Don’t get me wrong, it was a beauty to behold but just not for me. Really should have been a case of ride before you buy.

Would do, but looking to have it with the pre installed Hope h/s (as this is my first build and am trying f/up as little as possible!).

Looks like you’ve missed the boat, they’re all sold out until Jan. There goes my self-indulgent Xmas present!

Not sure about AM, but my build will be:-

    Full SLX gears/brakes (2×10 38/24)
    Spank Subrosa 747mm bars
    Truvativ 75mm stem
    Fox FIT RLC 120mm
    Reverb
    Gobi

Can’t afford new wheels so, I’ll be using the Bonty wheels off my EX8 with Hans Dampfs.

    Just placed my ‘pre-order’…can’t wait.

I also really enjoyed Mike Gayle novels, especially Mr Commitment – youthful nostalgia and how funny relationships between a couple can be.

Better off going cold turkey…4 weeks now from 10 a day and can honestly say not even tempted…although I could murder one whenever I have a pint!

I have 3 girls already and a boy due next week. It’s normal to feel anxious, but always better to stay safe and see the doc.

Looks like Christ on a bike to me!

I think I’d need a lift to get me to the bottom safely on that drop!

The video in this thread from the spy camera really doesn’t do Antur justice.

I thought of this when they turned on the Hadron Collider at CERN in the event it created a black hole…all it created was wind…a bit like this article.

I use an Endura Transmission as I find Merino itchy too.

Does the job for me and a decent price.

Think it only comes in L/S though?

Driving without due care and attention…straight to Police and involve your wife, as she’ll need to give a statement.

Absolutely no excuse for his driving habits or out of order remarks and behaviour.

My wife’s due in 3 weeks and this is what I would do.

If it goes unpunished…it’s likely he could do it again, but with potentially far worse consequences.

Hope your missus is doing OK and gets over her experience soon.

Not sure about the Mynd, but hear Hopton’s pretty muddy and Cannock is pretty rideable all year round (but it has really p****d it down over the last couple of days in Brum).

They’re probably in StalyVegas being sold by some drug addled arse…or at least that was what it used to be like when I lived there.

Hope you get them back! Maybe they might give you my TV too!

I got a lab/springer spaniel cross who was 11 months old from a rescue home and he has been brilliant. Really friendly, doesn’t chew anything, good with all manner of people, good recall, well behaved and is scared of cats.

We have a small garden, but he gets two decent walks a day and lots of mental stimulation when we get home.

He was being trained as a gun dog (bred specifically as a cross for energy and without lab hip problems), but wasn’t much good so they were going to shoot him!

Please go to a rescue home and get a dog. If you dont get on well with it, you can always take it back, but if you choose wisely you wont need to.

I’ve had Endura MT500’s and they were way to bulky and felt odd.

Just ordered a pair of Tro Lee KG5450’s which cover knee and shin and apparently don’t rub or feel like you’re wearing them.

Everyone seemed to give them a good write up, so went with them. Still waiting for them to arrive though as they appear to be difficult to get a hold of. Just make sure you drop a size as they come up quite big.

For under £60…no. I use them and they are great up to a point. Complaints – If you dab down in the mud, no grip. They do let water in in the worst weather (but to be expected) and mine started coming apart after a dozen or so rides.

Still happy with mine after 12 months though and gladly buy them again (especially if they’re under £60.00). Would try Five Ten’s, but they’re way expensive.

My HD’s really struggled on the polished pebbles at Cannock last weekend. Also found them really difficult to seat when going tubeless.

Pretty much the norm. My eldest is 17 next year and she is really quiet and withdrawn unless her friends are about and then she is totally animated and in a really good mood.

Guess its all harmones. I have a couple of girls that work for me that are between 23-25 and they have attitudes much akin to 17/18 year olds…so it may last a little longer I’m afraid depending on the individual.
