Just colour the Soul with green Nanos and get grips with green collars. Go the whole hog and get green Race Face cranks….or just buy the new green Soul!

tops – are those 38/26 rings?

Just bought an Orange last month that still hasn’t been fully built yet…wish I had waited for a bit longer…ah well.

The duck egg blue looks vaguely familiar to the Pace Morris Minor blue. Should make into a good looking bike with white fox forks.

A friend of mine was left hospitalised by a hardened piece of snow/ice off the back of a flat bed lorry. The oncoming lorry hit a bump in the road and the snow/ice went flying right through his window and into his face.

I find it incredible that some folks just don’t understand how dangerous it is to drive without properly clearing their vehicles.

Mind you, just how many people are actually taught and learn to drive in the winter. Personally I think it should be a pre-requisite before gaining your licence.

I unhooked the cable and have been changing the gears pushing the parallelogram and still not doing it.

I would say 38/24 & 11-36, gives more long climb breathing…but depends how fit she is.

The ‘load’ is greatest at the bottom of the headtube so a bigger more robust size will stiffen the area and will less likely fail.

The rest of the steerer can be tapered as there is less load towards the top and also keeps weight down.

+1 for either Exotic or Nanos as they’re both the same (think exotics are £33)

Got a medium Windchill which fits quite snug and I’m 39″ chest…but it is supposed to be more ‘roadie’ anyway.

Sirius and Scion same geo but Scion with updated tubes. Think the pipedream seat tubes not as compatible as the 3rd gen Soul for droppers. Pipedream geo seems a little more conservative too.

Depends what you’re after. 100-140mm fork trail capable and a reasonable light weight for steel. All generations get good write ups and the new one is stronger, takes a tapered fork and a 31.6 dropper. For me it was the ideal buy.

Get a Rocket…as you say no point in having two hardtails.

I plan only to ever own a FS and Hardtail and in line with my normal riding pursuits…that’s my philosophy anyway.

It’s carbon paste that I use…can’t remember what is called tho

Basically helps stop the post moving but without the whole thing seizing.

Think you can buy the assembly paste in sachets or a tube (which I did for a tenner from CRC).

I hope this works…I always screw this up!

Steerer now cut and 2×10 new SLX fitted. Looking at a 26lb’er (fingers crossed)

Get it constantly with my HTC…drives me nuts too. I thought it was a problem with my crap phone!

The Charlie Parker books by John Connellly would make decent paranormal thrillers.

Always thought they should have made a Rogue Trooper film rather Judge Dredd rubbish too.

Get a bike with 120mm rear and 140mm front and add a set of talas’ like I’m planning to do with my ex8…best of both. Rear that feels like 140mm and the ability to go small or big at the front depending on the situation.

I used to have a 2007 meta 5.5.2 (150mm), and my trek is just as capable.

But if you’re intent on buying a Zesty 214/314…couldn’t blame you!

There was a bloke on here that bought a pair of goretex boots and had them fitted with the 5 10 soles. Think it costs about £40…but can’t remember where!

I have Troy Lee KG5450 but the shin guards dont come down all the way.

I’m an XS in these and I’m not exactly slim built in the legs (after playing rugby), so any Troy Lee product should fit as they go up to XL (which must be for elephants!).

All sizes on their website…but try before you buy!

My friend has MND (think Steven Hawking) and his daughter got Aracaria to do a specific crossword for him with clues from my friends own life…it was f’in incredible!

My friend loves him but can no longer do his crosswords, and in his words ‘I can figure out the answers…but cant f’in write them down’!

Sorry to barge in…but found a few gems between Cannock and Brocton, but does anyone local know if you can cycle in Beaudesert Old Park (I know you can’t around the Ring for obvious reasons)?

Out riding tomorrow or Monday after 3 months and wanted to explore rather than go all out and injure myself again.

Ferment them and make banana vodka…no idea how though.

Banana split eating competition (assuming you have 8kg of icecream)?!

Definitely not a ‘troll’…been biking for over 20 years!

Beside the path there are a few open fields where we throw the ball…as my wife was about to throw the ball a cyclist crested a hill on the path, dazzled her with his lights and she turned as she was throwing the ball…hence hitting him.

All I am asking is it reasonable that cyclists should dip their lights (the really bright ones) or slow a little when on a shared path in the dark? I know I would.

I got shimano slx m675 and 180/160 ice tech rotors from EU for £150. Work a treat…just don’t bother with the finned pads. They come with organic pads so you may want to get a set of sintered in this crap weather.

I absolutely hate avids since having no end of problems with my 7’s!

Try Oyster peaks. They do a really decent one for about £300.

Leyzne Alloy Drive. Had it since it first came out some years ago and is brilliant. Compact, light, robust and great at inflating comes in a range of colours too. Mine was about £20 3-4 years ago.

Will monitor how long this last regrease lasts and then contemplate upgrading to Hope or CK. Anyone else know if you can use a Hope tapered H/S with a Trek E2 head?

When asked as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up…I replied David Attenborough!

All his series are brilliant (even the life of plants). I’ve been lucky enough to visit South Africa twice and see some of those amazing animals in the flesh (even the baby ostrich chicks) and this series has brought it all back. It’s incredible that the film crew waited 30 days to capture 1 min of that fight…patience is most certainly a virtue and skill.

Junkyard – got the bike in Feb, ridden once per week until end of Oct. Just noticed the Hope H/S on my Soul has a rubber seal round the bottom cup, whereas my Fsa doesn’t.

Don’t really mind doing the service, but can’t help wondering if the Fsa should have come with a similar rubber seal to the Hope?

Running 17.5 actual with 75mm stem and 711mm bars at 5’9″. Fits and runs like dream…not sure if the 2013 model differs to my 2012 in terms of geo though.
