Loving my bandit…but the stock shock was crap. The ccdb inline makes it a proper ripper along with an angleset and 150 pikes.

Not sure sure about KOM rims but I used 100% acetone to remove my graphics off some american classic rims. Took ages and a lot of elbow grease.

Irrelevant because its not on a bfe or doesn’t meet your criteria for high standard anecdotes? ;)

At least the Works is UK made so giving back something which takes up their ‘time’ to make and pays the UK staff ‘money.’

All in all I can see no ‘waste.’

Mtbel – would have to disagree. Added a -1 degree to my bandit and it climbs just as well but feels much better on the downs. Sold the Hope headset and so it didn’t work out expensive in the end.

STW is a place to sometimes lose yourself and even ask the most stupid questions about life and bikes.

I’ll always remember the thread written by a father in hospital as he had just lost one of his young children and not knowing why he was sat there typing but all the touching and supportive comments made me feel part of what this place is all about…everything and nothing.

You can do it online rather than paper, which is much more simple. There are two kinds – Property and Affairs and Health and Welfare. DO NOT leave it too late or you end up going through the Court of Protection and costs hundreds more £s and the person losing their capacity has no choice as to who is appointed to look after their affairs.

Search Ipsos Mori ‘The future of lasting power of attorney’ for a research paper about it all in society.

The Office of the Public Guardian deal with both LPAs and deputyships.

These powers ARE NOT just for the older of us.

Think they’re doing an XL ALU version later in the year. Met a guy yesterday who was 6’+ with a Capra and reckoned his large was perfect. Granted I didn’t ask him his inside leg measurement!

Used to use superstar, but after getting a nearly new pair of Vaults can’t see me going back. Used to get foot pain with the superstars from time to time too. Ubyk are pretty good price wise for them…although the gamuts above look nice. £99 at freeflow too.

Sixc bars, they’re just…well brilliant. Comfy straight from the word go.

Just picked a set of sixc 35 for my Capra for £85 at CRC

Not sure if the palm is the same but TLD Airs are great. Mine are still going strong after 12 months and I tend to wear them in all weathers.

KS LEV all day long. 2 on my current bikes after ditching 2 Reverbs due to faults and PITA bleeding of them. The LEVs have much less faff, replace gear cable now and again, ability to raise the post if it gets a fault (so not screwing up your ride midway through and cycling like you’re on a bmx for umpteen miles!) and no massive loop of cable.

Quite pee’d that newer frames no longer seem have mounts under TT from droppers, just to be more aesthetically pleasing. The new Capra I’ve bought doesn’t have them and I could have fitted one of my LEVs to it. Instead I’ve got an integra to replace the reverb (as I dislike them so much…plus its too long).

Jungle are also brilliant IMO if you have issues with KS posts (as one of mine lost a bit of pressure after nearly 2 years), servicing and returning it within 5 days of me posting it.

This brings back memories as this happened to me…23 years ago on my first MTB (palisades trail).

Stupidly inserted wrong pedal into wrong crank. The lads at the bike shop took pity on my spotty 13 year old face and managed to supply another crank arm. God bless them, I probably wouldn’t have taken up mtbing up if it wasn’t for them fixing it (no bike = no paper round = no money to replace crank arm = no bike)

Well done singletrackbikes and silverfish for being so amicable and tolerant.

I’d move in a heart beat if:

    a) I had a decent job there
    b) I could afford a house there
    c) I had won the lottery and therefore a & b were irrelevant

Ideally I’d move to Wales in the UK or Czech if the EU

Think you can pick up Revs from all tricks for £250, which is probably cheaper than the x fusions.

My slants were good and stiff but not much tuning to them…and they look a bit cheap IMO. I see there is some kind of new damper coming out for them soon.

Not sure if you can get tokens for revs, but I know you get 32mm tokens for Reba’s.

Thanks legend. I did come across this on CRC but wasnt sure. I’ll try the avid clamps to see if they fit or drop SRAM a note.

Ah…that explains it! Don’t actually have the bike and planning ahead to remove the reverb. Now I need a brake clamp then! Which I’ve also not been able to find for guide brakes. Will keep looking…

Yep…currently set up matchmaker style and want it on another bike clamped independently. Checked SRAM guide but the clamp isn’t actually listed as a part, just the nuts and bolts (or I’m being stupid!).

Forgot to say I’ve got 160/130 pikes on my ti frame. Picked them up from alltrick.fr for £400. Use them at 130 for the ups and flats, 160 down.

Just about to fit some special tokens to them.

I’ve got 40t hope and med cage mech and its great. 25lb set up which is great for its gnarliness

Lower priced Capra’s are 160 and can’t be beaten price wise. AL2 at less than 2k is great vfm

Mid June for my Capra AL2. Will just have to ride my other bike while I wait.

    N+1 first world problems! Lol

Can’t wait to see the wife’s face when the Capra arrives…she’s gonna go ballistic.

I’ve had the Strut riser, but there wasnt enough sweep for me and the flat bar has even less. It was a bit flexi though and found the lacquer coating chipped really easily (even when torquing to under the required ratings).

Vondally – currently got the mt zoom risers and they’re really strong/stiff (but hardly any buzz) and with good matt finish that doesn’t mark…but I’m about 80kg kitted. Might be willing to part company with them for a reasonable price? Drop me an email.
