No point in speculating until you see a doc…self diagnosis usually leads to excess worry.

I’d stay off it until you see someone.

I’m waiting to undergo an ACL op and as soon as it flares up I back off a little.

    +1 for double checking weight

Can’t see where all that weight is coming from TBH

As others have said it would cost a small fortune to change things.

No idea what mine will weigh when I finally find the time to put her together, but expect about 27lbs…but considering I need to lose 14lb from my body…I’ll start the weight loss there and at minimal expense!

Looks like you could catch your bollocks on a very sharp chainring to me!

Forgetting which brake was which on a steep hill, 2 weeks amnesia, broken cheekbone, skin graft…the worst was being carted into surgery mid way through watching Airwolf.

Have now worn a helmet for the last 27 years.

I think the organisers do all the timings and routes etc and you can see if it’s for you or not (that’s my understanding)

Went 2×10 with my XT 36/26

Bought the rings from someone on here and swapped with my 3×10

To get good shifting though you’ll need a 2×10 front mech (my 3×10 was horrific)

Cycle Pro £13 with detachable chain tool – it’s bloody brilliant (even if it is bright orange!)

I was extremely happy Cy re-iterated his support for 26″…as I can’t see myself ever changing.

Cy – Is your new mismatched 120/140 rig going to continue in the 26″ guise (and can it also be green?)? :-)

Ex8 2012 and have run these with no issues. The grip is phenomenal but did find them front and rear was a bit draggy.

Blew up on the first attempt with a track pump and sealed properly (although they were a bit of a bugger to seat them properly on the Bonty rims).

I now run a Dampf front on both my bikes with a smaller/faster rear.

    Hey buddy

Cannock Chase is OK, but I get bored to death of doing it. Make sure you add Brocton Coppice into the mix and also try looking for cheeky singletrack…when no-ones looking.

A mate of mine really rates Llandegla, but for me Coed Y Brenin is great. It’s also really good in the wet as it’s mostly slate…so no grinding paste like at Cannock.

    No idea about the others.

A friend of ours did the same a few years back. His wife said goodbye and popped to the shops and came back to him hanging in the loft.

No note, no signs of depression or money worries.

I really feel for you buddy. Try to be around friends as much as possible and just remember that someone who is really determined to kill themselves will eventually, and there really is nothing that you could have done than you already did.

Like others have said on here, make sure you keep posting if you feel you get comfort and support from the STW crowd.

    All the best

Is that another 5 bikes you have arriving at the same time?! That’s just greedy :-)

2 months to knit properly for me, but had to sleep sitting up…otherwise I was in agony even with the pain killers.

Inflated like nothing on Earth, but we’re a real pain in the arse to seat on a 28mm rim properly…60psi and gt 85 did the trick eventually.

To be fair, I subscribe to pretty much all of them, but wait until there are some decent gifts making the subscription worthwhile.

Subscribed to MBR last month for £38 and got a 2013 Camelbak Mule worth at least £57.

WMB came with Endura MT 500 pads the last time I subscribed.

Had a 2010, but didn’t really get on too well with it…probably because I used it more as a trail bike than a fun bike.

The ride was very harsh and sizing was an issue… 17″ was too small and left me breathless on climbs and 19″ was just massive.

Couldn’t fault the look and components though! That green colour was amazing.

    There’s a bloke selling a 2010 frame on here for £180.

    There are a few tips:

Turn the tire inside out for a night
Blow the tire to max tyre/rim pressure and leave over night

The best is use gt85 around the rim and bead and then inflate to max pressure…works for me!

Hans Dampf front, purgatory 2.2 rear FS (although HD rear was much more grippy, but very draggy)

Hans Dampf front, Crossmark 2.1 rear HT (although not actually tested as yet)

I run a charge lr too…but I think there is the volt with 3l bladder and 13l capacity which should be just as good to carry butties etc

Having the bladder around the hips makes a MASSIVE difference IMO

Took 3 months for mine to disappear from my calf (leg trapped between crank arm and frame after an off)…but did so naturally.

Yours sounds a bit excessive time wise…hope all goes well!

    No complaints from me.

Ordered a tyre this Monday, advised dispatch via email and txt same day… then emailed and txted today to advise delivery between 11-12 today…and according to my wife was delivered as stated.

    That’s pretty bloody good IMO!

I really struggled getting my Hans dampf on my 28mm rims and seating them was really tough…soap suds, inner tube then removal, high pressure etc…everything.

Then I heard of a trick which is to gt85 all the way round the rim/tyre and blow up to between 40-50psi and leave it…worked a treat everytime since.

I always put a heavy duty towel over the tyre too just in case it explodes!
