Scotroutes – sitting on your pack would still mean being hit in the head. Apparently standing up, bent over holding your ankles with your arse in the air is the technique…hits you in the arse and then feeds through to the earth by way of your legs…bypassing your head and brain…amazing the crap you read in the GP surgey :D

Depends on if you’re gonna keep them up there all the time.

I got some automaxi supras for £50 new and are ideal for using them for long journeys where I need boot space…obviously still use a thule carrier though.

Camelbak are doing a new bottle that kills off bugs using uv light for water from streams…but at £100.

Dropped nearly 1lb from bike from a change of wheels and cassette…massive difference…especially to my wallet!

Is that the grey one with black rear triangle? That was my fist full suss (5.5.2s…absolute brilliant bike. Had to sell it to fix my car…was gutted.

I’d fix it as a new frame for a similar travel one could be 4 times as much(new).

It would be interesting to see the profit margins (minus r+d costs for future interations of forks). I imagine mojo and the like also pay a percentage to fox for the servicing of the forks too.

Running 11-36 and 24/38 with GS medium SLX clutch mech and no issues here.

I generally think of natural trails as things starting of by deer and the like that turn into cheeky bits of trail unsullied by adding bottom and top layers of rock, gravel, sand etc…but thats just me…otherwise theyre all man made…no?

Never had anything other than fox, either as stock on new bike or purchased new at a greatly reduced price.

No issues so far over 10 years and being 12st, never noticed noticeable flex on my 32s or talas and run a few more psi and less damping which appears to help the dive factor.

Not sure about servicing them myself as i cant even put up a level bookshelf…so it does cost.

So who do we blame for the short-cutting…strava obsessives or lazy inexperienced riders?

Im all for providing labour…but sensible enough to know i need direction.

Have humvees but a bit weighty for this weather. I picked up a pair of mavic red rocks with inners for £55…and they are great…but go down a size with mavic…im 34″ waist and med were too big.

Same place as you but closer to the grips. It just takes a bit of getting used to. I ditched the tensioner and just use a sp41 gear outer.

Looking at yours i have mine angled down a bit more but my shifters have moved down a bit too.

Easy…use less brake n more speed!

No issues with either of my sets and dont bother with the finned pads either.

12.5st kitted with my soul running 120mm, and have another set of talas 140mm as another option. Find the talas a wee bit flexi.

Reckon bfe would be better for peaks with stiffer forks IMO given your a st heavier.

Dog – you always seem to ride trails with those weird animal cams that go off when there is sign of movement! :-)

    Hope he’s alright.

At least when my mate was hit they had the decency to put him and the bike in the car and take him to A&E and then wait for the cops.

I take it he hadnt been to the pub?

I got a pair of stans rim strips for £20 off here and a pint of stans sealent from merlin for £10 and everything has been a piece of piss…apart from several hours trying to get the tyres on and seat properly. I hate narrow rims!!

Camelbak charge (2/3 hours) and mule (3+ hours)…both are extremely good and you can usually get good deals on them at Merlin.

Seen a thread earlier in the week powder coated white and looks really good. £20 in ashton-u-lyne for the coat too!

My choice would be bfe blue…like another thread on here.

My mk3 is orange and still loving it.

No idea if chunky monkeys are tubeless ready but my dt x1700 work great with stans strips and sealant.
