It does beg the question that if every manufacturer starts following suit and only makes 27.5 or 29 frames, what do all the 26er’s do if they can’t afford a complete build?

I know I’ll only want to be doing frame upgrades in the next 2-3 years as cant afford the forks/wheels like the OP.

Not very helpful…but someone did exactly the same on here last year i think and had a link.

Use the search facility…and if you find it let me know as i may do the same this winter (sorry to lazy to look at the mo!).

You think thats bad…went to South Africa and found one attached to my nether regions while in the shower and near passed out on honeymoon…thought it was a bit of fluff and pulled it off…which then exploded with blood…much screaming!

The f***er also left its head in me too! Felt ill for days afterward until i got some strong antibiotics.

If that wasnt bad enough got tick bite fever from another type of tick the second time we went to stay with our friends.

No way…pretty sure the highway code covers how a driver should drive and we emit zero emissions (unless you’ve had curry the night before).

Not sure why you would want to? Great with current angle with 120mm forks for all round riding.

False Widow – venomous and can cause nasty bites.

Seem to be found in the South of England regularly…if you’re anywhere near Brum let me know…and I’ll move!

Wear trousers with with extremely deep pockets…or remove them altogether.

Or put your bank/credit cards in a block of ice in the freezer.

Charge here…great pack. Bladder can be a bit fiddly to get in and reattach the hose, but no loss of side pocket volume. I have the blue one but wish id got the black one as the white straps get bloody filthy…but fir £45 new last year from merlin i cant complain.

I also get 2 inner tubes, all my tools, pump, rain jacket, troy lee pads and sarnies and jelly babies in the pack. Compared to the mule i get no back pain either.

Was contemplating getting the larger volt but an extra bottle for additional fluids is the way im going for longer rides.

Think I may have flat feet too scardeypants…which I believe also brings it on. I’ve had it in both feet oddly…but can often go months if not years apart without the pain recurring.

This time it’s particularly painful and seems to have come on during the hottest weather…perhaps with my foot swelling swelling in the heat.

Where did you get those insoles?

Notch visor is fixed which put me off it in the end. Went for a Hex after my Fox Flux and very happy with it.

Piglet gets decent reviews and heard they have sorted some of their manufacturing issues from previous years.

In a couple of years, all the folk who bought 650b will be reading reviews about the revitalised 26″ being fun, whippy etc etc and I’ll have a big grin on my face when it does.

At 5’8″, I neither want or need 650b or 29.

Missus has dragged me there a few times before…ended up buying a gstar shirt for the equivalent price of a normal one.

Not a fan…especially in the sun surrounded by crowds of people.

Upgrading could cost you the nearly the same as a new pair of forks (along with the service).

I have two fox, both with FIT but only one with with kashima. The kashima feels a lot smoother.

The Fox’s I had were 2010 and 2008 floats, and the FIT is much better IMO.

I’d be tempted to sell your forks and buy some new RS forks instead and save future service hassle.

I see myself buying more and more kit from the classifieds here rather than new…and some of it is really top rate and at a great price (£32 posted for fatbar lite with one small mark).

Buying off the classifieds also helps the whole recycling thing too.

Still inclined to buy new frames tho and transfer kit.

I have 2012 Trek ex8 and run a 140 talas up front. Raises the bb a little but also slackens the HA…on the downs its proper good fun as the rear feels more like 140 too.

Isnt the TRa really heavy…sure i read a review in a mag which has it at 31lb.

Sorry Iainc – meant defo cutting the steerer would cause more issues trying to sell it on…hence leaving it so it will fit all bikes (giving my two bike as an example).

    Must engage brain before typing!

I went from a bel air to an aliso and much happier…broader flatter nose and bigger flatter area for my backside.

I had the lighter ti version…but had a bit of smallish crash and a rail bent.

Still have it if you want it to try and straighten the rail for test purposes (for postage obviously!).

    Cheers

Use 2.2-2.3 tyres on mine. Must admit coming from a fs i hung for dear life too, but after a couple of rides and picking better lines rather than charging through the rough like i would on my fs, no issues.

Someone swallowed a dictionary…would you like the loan of tyre lever to help remove it?
