Not seen one the flesh tbh and im not swallowing the hype…but if i am going to buy a new bike ill have to at least have a trial of a few 650bs.

That said, ill be waiting for sales before purchasing anything (and decent tyres).

Sorry forgot to say look up the shimano tech docs and find the part no.and order it from your lbs. Think theyre £4 a pair…or beg madison and get a free pair like me!

Think theyre all slightly different. Bought 2 sets of m670 slx shifters. One came without blanking plates (not underneath like the old slx) and one came with them.

Madison stated uk purchased shifters dont come with the plates but mainland eu ones do…another reason to buy from the continent!

Mmm…keep my soul but would be very tempted by a sc solo as my fs (providing i could find a good 140 fork…RS please make a 140 650b pike!)

Ideal for a beginner…totally boring for an experienced rider. At least one of you will be happy ;)

Did you get it from ribble…as mine came loose in packaging and having to piece it together too.

Search shimano techdocs for the answer.

Sorry…on mobile so cant give the link…but it is there.

    Cheers

Like my 32 rlc fit floats….but not keen on my 32 talas.

Would like a decent set of 140mm forks. Just wish they would release 140mm pikes for 26″.

Actually…just seen the new flux and must admit it looks very nice especially with that curved TT.

But not sure id want just 120mm as im currently running 120/140.

    That looks the onzadog bolx.

Any chance of the full spec, onza ( and weight)?

Wonder when will the EU step in and fine all bike companies for “wheel fixing”…as it is all a conspiracy isnt it? ;)

Hmmm…doesnt seem to like UK brands. In which case i dont like the look of that funny looking cat.

Shifter windows are removable but you will have to buy the base plates seperately if theyre uk spec…mainland eu ones come with them for some reason?!

    Cotic soul running 120mm forks.

First HT ive had that was comfy, quick and playful….really impressed, but i suppose its also down to all the componentry i chose to compliment it too.

Unlike my ex wife…this ones a keeper ;)

Havent seen a washer and the pad block is in the right place. It all a bit bizarre…as even tried using a different guide off another ser of fox forks and exactly the same issue.

Roverpig/Scamper – last I heard they were testing the 120/140 fs pocket rocket…but all does seem to have gone quiet.

Maybe they’re changing it to 650b?

    Running RQs and HDs here.

HDs just over 800g and come up really big with loads of grip front and rear…wearing really well too. Noticeably draggy though downhill…but really dig in on loose ascents.

RQs roughly the same weight, less draggy and good but not as good grip as HDs. Wearing not as well as the HDs either.

Riding really rough n ready constantly, HDs…if not RQs better all rounder.

Love them both and inflate real easy…just better for different ridings styles/terrain. Think bikediscount.de are doing HD pairs for €60.

Edit – no longer doing HD pairs :(

Doubt they will bring out a new Soul. 120/140 fs is on the horizon though.

Out on my soul tomorrow trying out 110/140 talas combo…should be good.

Cant go wrong with my Joe Blow II IMO…funky yellow and black too.

IMO 70 to 50mm is a massive difference.

Went from 711/75 combo to 740/60 combo and its massively different…really have to lean over the front on steep climbs.

See if you can borrow a 60mm stem first before buying a 50mm?

My advice would be to try and mix and match the trails (the beast has an awful lot of fire road climbs for ecample).

I found Tarw to be the rockiest IMO…MBR is the most fun on its own but very short.

Make sure you do the blue if only to practice berm stuff etc…its a blast if you do it at the end after ditching your pack etc.

Running the same as you OP, m780 on FS for 2 years and with new SLX on my HT for 6 months.

Only rubbed the shimano logo off one crank on the fs and finding the SLX really keeping its finish (and doesnt look gopping IMO).

Unless youre a tart…i’d go SLX. Good performance, decent weight and good price.
