Haven’t read it in a while but was very moved by it. As usual, the book is far better than the film IMHO.

Both book and film brought back several nightmares I had as a child about Armageddon during the Cold War!!

AdamW – not drving related, but help organise a Lasting Power of Attorney now before it is too late like someone else has mentioned. You don’t want to end up with a Deputyship order!! You’ll find info at the Office of the Public Guardian part of the Ministry of Justice website.

Not so much a magic formula but at least a good starting point as far as set up is concerned (especially for new bikes with diff geo to your other bikes). Unless you have an abundance of differing stems, bars it can be quite difficult and potentially expensive if you get it wrong.

It’s either that or pay for a bike fitting. My brother in law paid £120(?!) for his but reckoned it was the best money he’s spent.

The fact they actually do give review prizes amazes me! Thought it was an urban legend…maybe because I’ve never won! Congrats.

Brodie ti…think you can get a 2013 for under 1k from their website but no idea of shipping or VAT. Slackline would be ideal if you save another £250?

Bandit from pedals would be my choice running 150 up front or liteville close 2nd.

Customer service is great and my rear AC build has been really good.

Lots of vents on my AM41’s…but use electric tape to cover them on bad days and wear sealskinz on really bad days. I find them really grippy too.

Was going to buy a set of elements earlier this year but that non grippy bit of the sole put me off if i ever had to dab or push in muddy conditions.

Love mine. There’s a black at Tredz for £49.99 in black. My med is quite tight in med and I’m 38″-39″ chest.

The rise is more an issue as I’ll be running a longer A2C…so thinking I need lower rise to keep the front end down?

Yeah…i was looking for something that would take into account TT length as well…just to get a rough idea before forking out on a new set of bars.

Geo of my new FS frame is quite different from current HT.

Ti frames are too beautiful and shiny to be ridden…just hang it on a wall and gaze longingly at it all day instead 😉

I’ve been eating ‘oddities’ for the last few months as they are pretty much the same bar the shapes.

205mm on my medium but decided to cut it again to leave 15mm below and 5mm above. The Soul is a bugger if you want to run your forks on another bike with a longer HT…otherwise its perfect. 🙂

Ahh…saw an ad on here with someone selling a 50mm turbine. Must have been a typo.

I reckon 140 would be safe bet. If you dont do loads of DH and at 13 160 would be tough going up hill..but then again 13 you’ll have much more stamina than us oldies!

I reckon when you self build you try and buy all the bits you would really like rather than upgrade over time on a stock bike…so in the end it works out even but makes you more skint at the beginning.

Having a similiar quandry with mine. Bought a set of race face bolts after asking crc if they would work (which they said would) and theyre too long. Going to try my old bolts and see if they work but would have prefered steel 🙁

Didn’t think you could get much longer in the TT than a Soul?

Think you’ll be hard pressed to find a new 26″ large frame. Took me long enough to find a med stealth. That freeborn one is with monarch rather than a fox isnt it?

Edit…see they have dropped the price.

I picked up mine with fox for £1100 but think it was a warranty replacement.

Not floats but talas 110/140. Will be going to pikes when they arrive next week. The 32 were fine on Soul and Trek for the brief time i used them but Soul was better at a static 120 and the bb on the trek dropped too low at 110. Getting pikes as the bandit could do with burlier forks.

For a darksider £100…but seeing as you’ve seen the light with that Soul, just postage buddy…say £2 recorded del (and its still new and unused) 😉

Nice…but with a layback post and long stem, is the frame size right or are you one of those freakishly long torso’d people?

If you want a cotic chainstay protector i have one spare?

@ hora hitting someone and losing teeth is more like abh i would have thought. Spitting on someone is still classed as assault even though there is no physical contact.

Wasnt so long ago that domestic violence was deemed acceptable in the eyes if the law. Shouldnt the law protect those who cannot protect themselves, especially if they dont have the cognetive ability to understand what they are doing?

I have 4 kids and have never resorted to smacking as its more about finding what makes them tick and guiding them about choices and ramifications rather than indoctrinacting them on how to act/behave through the use of physical harm and fear…but thats how i parent and it isnt for everyone.

Yes they do care about music….just all the crap manufactured stuff. Cant wait for my young girls to ditch that One Direction rubbish and listen to some proper musicians. I’ve tried reasoning with them…but get the usual “wow you’re old” and ” Dad that music is plain embarrassing”.

One when adult hits another adult with violent intent then its assault…so why is it OK for a parent to smack a defenceless child and it not be classed as assault?

If they’re nubuck/suede would a nailbrush not damage them? I use a nailbrush/scrubbing brush for the sole and wetwipe for the uppers.
