I have always used a track pump…but this weekend with RQs has been a real bitch. Cant get the bloody things to seat.

Try the ‘ghetto compressor’ which I am going to attempt before having to take them to the lbs to use their compressor.

Just be thankful they’re not American Classic decals. 2 weekends elbow grease and 1ltr nail varnish remover.

Njee20 – I send the buyer the no. on the day its posted so they know its in the post. There have been times when I’ve been told something has been posted but then find out it was posted 2/3 days later…quite annoying.

How about we all agree to leave feedback on the original classified advert? I often try…but forget. At least its an improved audit trail of how good a seller is.

I am surprised how many items I receive without them being rec del as I always send them that way for a better piece of mind for me and the buyer.

Got some good advice off here and got a little life ultralight convertible. Think I got it new for £70 from Sports Direct.

It needed to fit the hand luggage restrictions for going abroad which some of voyager etc dont.

They are brilliant and my little lad loves it…but when he falls asleep I always panic he’s going to break his neck as it flops all over the place!

Winstanleys have them for £80 which seems like a decent deal.

Buying parts seperately isnt necessarily more expensive. I forget to say Ribble do some really cheap shimano stuff. As for 2×10 I found my my 38/24 quite good.

To run a clutch it has to be 10 speed unless you use sram shifter.

Drop a note to Cotic they are REALLY helpful if you need advice!

I’m running my Mk3 Soul with Float RLC FIT 120’s…but wish I had opted for Reba instead due to the ease of maintenance (still really good forks though and really tuneable).

I did run 110/140 Talas’ but kept forgetting to switch the settings for climbing and descending…and it didn’t handle quite so well in either setting compared to 120’s.

I was running a full 2×10 SLX groupset bar a XT cassette (helps with lessing the scoring) and KMC X10L chain, but have moved to 1×10 NW set up.

There were some new XT/SLX cranks in the classifieds for a good price. You could always try ze germans which is where I got my stuff from and if you pay over a certain amount they don’t charge for postage either.

I know you’re on a budget but if you have MK3 frame then get a dropper and if going 10 speed a clutch mech is a must…two best inventions for bikes IMO…apart from 650b obviously 😉

Sound like I’ll be using the Soul then.

Given the amount of fire roads I guess 2×10 rather than 1×10?

I think its much cheaper printing titanium as they use titanium dust. Using fabricated titanium leads to loads of waste under normal methods.

The new Stanton Sherpa looks lovely if you’re after a 29er but I would have ti slackline if I had 3k to spend…really versatile.

Cant see me ever ditching my Soul which replaced an ex8. The Soul was just as comfy and did everything the ex8 did and also lbs lighter.

Added a Bandit to the stable for a bit more serious descending and hopefully a trip to Czech this summer for some crazy mountain trails.

I reckon they are differing enough to warrant both…whatever the wife thinks!

One of my favourite upgrades especially now with running NW setup. XT and SLX seem to be just as good as each other IMO.

Done. Never any issues inflating using my Joe Blow but seating tyres is my PITA FWIW.
