My 50mm x4 stem was 174g! New haven purchased for the same price as sold…134g and much better looking IMO.

Light, strong and easy to maintain wheels/hubs? Picked up a pair of new 2013 AC All Mountains (the toned down graphic version!) for £370 from alltricks.fr this week…1544g. My other set are holding up really well and looking much better after removing the decals.

Save yourself a ton of cash and go NW instead of XX1 too IMO.

Lars said a normal shimano e thru QR can be used no problem. There are 3, deore, slx or xtr that I could find. Evans do the xtr for £22 or cheaper heavier deore from rose for 15 euros not including postage. Think the Evans deal works out better for ease of return if there is an issue.

Loosening 3 bolts is a pain in the arse! At least theyve upgraded it for 2014 models but downgraded to 650b 😉

Mboy – needed a little less back sweep as my cockpit on the bandit is quite short and still wanted to run a short stem. Had narrowed my bar choice down to mt zoom, strut or spank oozy Ltd with similar back sweep…but the struts a bit wider which is even better.

Dropped them a note but think I have it worked out. The trouble is my American Classic hub states X-12 not e thru…but the hub doesn’t matter just the axle and how it interfaces with the frame. The 2014 Bandit has a QR and is still e thru, so must use a Shimano e thru QR.

Doesn’t help that the Shimano e thru QR states for use with Shimano hubs…where in reality it will work with any 142×12 hub but needs an e thru specific dropout.

All bloody confusing!

My missus was 2 weeks late and my son ended up being born on Xmas Eve after being induced…nice get out of Xmas dinner with the in laws that year!

A good decent book…went through 4 mags in no time and wished I had taken one. Loads of food too…I was starving.

Once it all starts though…you won’t need anything.

As Johnny m says. Bought a BBB tool for £6 to put them on and take them off but after a few miles can do them by hand no problem.
