Yep. If you look on the drive side on the rear of the hanger there is a tiny hex bolt to keep the end cap in place.the end cap doesnt screw into the hanger itself.

Funkybaj – just bought a thru axle from Evans for £16.59 (sign up to their newsletter and get £5 off).

If you look at the new 650b pics on the Transition website it shows the exact same dropouts as the 2013 model (with the tiny little bolt hole).

Should make life a shed load easier for maintenence and tyre changes.

Not used the RQ’ s on this bike yet but have on my Soul and an ex8. I find them grippy and pretty good rolling resistance wise. They don’t love thick mud…but as soon as it gets dry they will be great. Weight wise, one was 757 and the other 783 against a claimed weight of 765 (protection version).

You can get them from bikediscount.de for £60-£65 a pair… either the UST or Protection versions.

2012 American Classic All Mountains…with the hideous red/white logos removed.

Like them so much I bought a 2013 pair for my Soul…but with much better decals that don’t need removing. Bloody good price too…nearly 40% off the rrp.

Easy to service, fit tyres without levers…but an extra cost to retro-fit a rear thru axle.

‘Stealth black’ apparently. The 2014 grey colour isn’t as good IMO…actually I think the new 2014 looks a little ungainly.

When I decided to buy it I searched for months for a medium frame and was about to buy a lemon one, when suddenly this popped up on pinkbike and bought it the same day. It was a warranty replacement so the last ever 26″ shipped to our shores.

Quite funny actually as the dealer had to put it on his website for me to buy…but had to hide it in the ‘nutrition’ section so no one else bought it for the knock down price!!

Haha…I originally did want the black pivot covers, but the blue ones have grown on me, matching the blue bits on the shocks and forks.

Just riding around my cul de sac (when I noticed my wheel needs truing) was fun just popping off curbs! The fork is like nothing I’ve ridden before.

1600g AM wheels, a bar that’s 166g(750mm!!!…and I’m 12 st so shouldn’t snap…probably) and mag ti pedals helped the weight.

Really need to get out on it asap so I can decide between this and my Soul for Dyfi in the coming months.

If you’re dead set on a 29er and paying that price…I’d buy a whyte t-129s instead.

I would love a ti frame…but I just can’t ever see me getting ride of my soul.

120mm, 1×10, dropper and just over 24lb…proper comfy too!
