Sold my Soul a few weeks ago to fund my dream bike of a Stanton Slackline ti.

I loved the Soul but the HA was always a tad too steep and couldn’t get a decent fit.

Typical STW, but the slackline is simply amazing even running 120 forks. Much more assured on decents but not suffering on the ups either. It’s as light as a gnats fart too…but as burly as a bfe. I didn’t think I could have a more comfy ride than the Soul for a HT…but the ti is even comfier.

Obviously this comes at a huge price…but I’m starting to think I could even ditch my FS and have one bike running longer forks.

Just ordered a pair of race matrix from uberbike. Supposed to better than sintered or kevlar….time will tell!

I got my bikehand one for £60 from Ribble. Super stable and a real quality product…looks kashima coated lol.

It also goes by the name of Raleigh bike repair stand. Available on Amazon from £54.

Charlie – I have a set of XT 26/38 that are in good nick or you could mount the SLX 24 I have in place of the 26?

Drop me an email if your interested.

    Cheers

I know you want compression damping but have you thought about x fusion sweeps?

34mm stanchions and it can be raised and lowered (internally not on the fly) from 100mm to 160mm and also has a 46mm trail so should slacken everything out for a bit of a ripper.

Anything over 120mm with 32mm stanchions is a bit noodly IMO…and I’m fairly light in weight.

It happened at upper cliff near the very top I think on the first few jumps. Paramedic was holding the guys head keeping it stable. Thought he might have broken it. He was wearing a dh top so imagined he was experienced? Assume he just misjudged something.

Took it easier all the way around after seeing that and thought about it all the way home.

Must get a Will and LPA sorted soon!

Very nice…almost as nice as my sold orange one (though not a fan of the stem).

Nice touch with the scoop colouring.

As per timmy…defo needs a dropper.

Debate as always with a Soul…is it better at 120 or 140 (especially with 32s)?

Nought wrong with the rear qr lever IMO. I used to always run my like that with no issue.

Never had a ti frame before but my new Stanton slackline ti will be going nowhere until either it’s broken or I am…and knowing my luck both will happen at the same time. 🙁

Just gone from a Soul to a Slackline ti (which I believe is 0.5 degree slacker than a standard slackline).

Evo ti is much cheaper true…but the attention to detail and craftsmanship is simply stunning on the Stanton.

Stevied on here often rides the gravity enduros on his and loves it.

Dave – being very cheeky but if you don’t need the 3rd…any chance I could have it? 😉

Cheers folks…ended up getting a set of rl2s with gold coating.

J tech were the cheapest and will lower them for me and tune them without charge too!

    Thanks folks.

Do they run just as well at 130 as at 160? I would probably be using them 130 most of the time around Cannock/Midlands etc and then up them to 160 in Wales…which then gives me a further conundrum of should I just buy a set of static slants and wind them up and down accordingly.

If its a faff with the static ones then I’d be inclined to go dla.

    They’re going on a slackline.

    Cheers

Don’t think so. Cotic recommend at least 400mm length and a minimum 100mm insertion I think.

Fitting is easy enough but I found bleeding it a bit of a faff and the looping cable a bit annoying. Superb action tho.

Only worry is, if your current post keeps slipping…will the verb work, as you’ll need less torque on the seatclamp?

Dropper. Reverbs are pretty cheap at the moment…although LEV is my preference.

Still reckon they’ve missed a trick by not being able to run 142 like many of the new 650b HTs (Stanton, kona, pace etc)

I purchased a new frame with bigish deposit and 0%. Just saved £20 on car insurance and £13 by keeping my old phone and going SIM only per month leaving only £15 to find…which I could probably find by using the car less and the bike more each month.

A free new Trail King tyre from Conti after making a politely worded complaint…and they never even asked for a copy of the receipt! Top gentlemen.

42t on my heavier fs and 40t on my lighter ht. Have to admit my wolf tooth 42t looks a better quality piece of machining compared to the hope.

Mine was sold this week and with a heavy heart due sitting between two sizes and never finding a good position on my medium.

If the small 26 had the new geo I think I would have been sorted 🙁

Think I need to take some tippex to my cotic tshirt to read ’26 is an option’

I received a slackline ti frame…minus the head badge and any sign of cable guides. Not particularly happy considering the cost of the frame and all pics on their website showing the badge. 🙁

Truly sad news. I grew up on MBUK and his articles in the 90’s like many others.

Thoughts are with his nearest and dearest. RIP Steve
