What does ‘stuck’ at the bottom of dicko’s descent mean?!

Not sure about the pain…but laptops on the balls can decrease your fertility due to the heat.

Akak – been using a flexi noodle for a while but still not finding an ideal angle with the brake blade and one finger braking…but far better than before.

Fair amount of HTs…now contemplating using mine. How bad are the decents for a 140 HT?

No link. Just heard from jungle that they just received them. Literally just arrived so not even on the website.

First, no.91, riding all black transition bandit with pikes. No fitness so likely to die after half way…if not before!!

Came back with half a pack of litter this morning. A fair few gel wrappers, but a lot of plastic water bottles, cans and sweetie wrappers. Upper cliff was pretty bad at the look out point. Loads along the trails…but actually wanted to ride and not stop every few mins (although was tempted).

    Robots
    Despicable Me
    Monster Inc or University
    Goonies
The explorers (River phoenix I think)
    Bmx bandits
    Gremlins

    There’s loads…old and new.

Iolo – where is this off piste that you speak of? Pm me with details if you wouldn’t mind (I’m a soloist so no fear of mass invasion!).

    Cheers

You can mix and match the different trails to avoid the fire roads. I love the place. Slate is so much better than the Cannock pebbles!!

I wrote to Fox and they sent me some free of charge? Was a number of years ago though.

Depending on your budget you could get a set of pikes on here for about £400 if you were patient. Batman11 was selling a black gold stanchion set of slants earlier this week which were only 5 weeks old. Not sure if he still has them but you could drop him an email? Check the wtd add for slants earlier this week.

Oli – we ended up calling our son something different as our rescue dog came with our preferred name!

Our dog just seems to respond to the first sound i.e. Alf…even though we call him Alf, Alfie, Alfred or Alfredo

Must admit, my favourite games tend to be the likes of GTA, Skyrim, Fallout etc. The worlds are immense and so much variation. Still not completed either skyrim or GTA 5…but not a huge gamer anymore due to the kids.

Chrissyboy – you can have my fallout Vegas for postage if you want (1 I have actually completed in its entirety)?

Had a fantastic steak in an Aberdonian restaurant once. Barring that, the best has been in Morocco and South Africa.

Must admit my slants are going to be run at 140mm on a HT. Got pikes on my bandit at 150mm. I’d go pikes if you can…even lighter and sturdier than the slants.

Just got a set of slants yesterday but not ridden them yet. They can be set between 100-160 in increments of 10mm. As stated 34 stanchions so should be stiffer than Rev…but heavier (but not much…maybe 3 bags of walkers crisps lol). They also have more trail so slacker than most other forks I believe.

I got mine from j tech for £448 with gold stanchions, free tuning on the damper, lowered to my required length and includes postage. The non gold coated ones were £25 less…but not as pretty.

Good deal IMO…but wiggle were doing some cheap deals too on 2013 models.

My bikehand one is superb. You can get it off Amazon too, but its named Raleigh bike stand.

Easy takes bikes of 30lb+ and is super stable.

Gets really good write ups on amazon and a few websites.

Best £60 investment I’ve made since riding.

I have 2 pairs of All Mountains and they are brilliant…strong and light. My 2013 ones in black red and white were a bitch to remove the graphics from. My 2014 ones are much subtle and akin to the lightnings. Got those from alltricks for £350 compared to rrp £600. Absolute steal!!!

Depends IMO. If you only use them occasionally then perhaps not. I use automaxi supras. Not as pretty but cheaper and extremely easy to install and uninstall (as I fit and remove them before and after every long distance trip which requires them).

Thule bike carriers are a different kettle of fish… I have two and are brilliant.

I use flexi v brake noodles on mine which makes things marginally better…but will be looking to get a southpaw.

Jivehoneyjive – do you mean like mother nature or some sort of sentient being?

I’d have to agree that we’re here just to multiply…unfortunately we’re becoming more of a parasite and are slowly destroying the planet through over reproduction and greed (in terms of natural resources).

Shame really that we are slowly but surely bringing about our own demise.

Isn’t everything a compromise unless money is no object?

If you’re an occasional rider who doesn’t do huge amount of maintenance with one bike…why fork out hundreds for a stand?

Buying expensive doesn’t always mean a good economy either. Seen loads of threads about endura stuff that hasn’t lasted more than a couple of months for example. At least with cheap stuff you know it may not last and aren’t paying a premium.

Considering I got a new 2013 26″ for £1100 in a sale in the UK…seems like a decent price for a full bike.

Guess you just need to check how much servicing it needs.

Great bikes…love mine with pikes up front.

THANK YOU EVERYONE..all much appreciated. At least I know I’m not the only one. Had half expected a load of MTFU responses! Lol

The wee man always naps in the morning…and he even gets his sleeping bag when he’s knackered and goes to bed initially without issue. It’s just once he starts waking…it doesn’t stop.

    To answer a few points:-

Have heard varying stances on controlled crying from opposite ends of expert opinion…more research and mum and dad discussion first before attempting.

Used the Ashton stuff…didn’t work for us.

Had black out blinds since it started to get light last year…no effect.

He was pulled out via suction cup…and tangled up several times in his cord. I love head massages…but not sure he would be amenable to it.

Shed or cellar? – for me and the wife…or him lol?

    I was also a nightmare sleeper…so maybe it’s hereditary.

He runs away from the hairdryer…so not sure he’d enjoy the noise!!!

Wife was made redundant at Christmas but has just got a new job. We’re hoping nursery may see an improvement…otherwise we could both be screwed!

Thanks again folks…and I’ll remember all your kind words in about an hour from now :)

He eats solids really well and we avoid foods at teatime that we know give him trapped wind.

The most frustrating thing is that we have no idea what’s wrong. Docs have seen him umpteen times but say he’s fine.

Worse thing is he wakes up in the morning at 5am with a big beaming smile as though the last horrific 10 hours have never happened…and me and his mum are like zombies.

Aye…done the raising bed thing too.

He’s an absolute angel by day…and demon by night.

He’d better remember all this before carting me off to a nursing home!

Just waiting for my wee lads first balance bike to role off a boat from the US.

He’s nearly 16 months and has been walking since 12 months. The Strider balance bikes are good from about 18 months and I reckon his legs are just long enough to start him off. Can’t wait.

He’s a bit of a nutter diving off stuff so need to find a small enough helmet now to go with it.

Sorry mate…this sounds daft but you only ever purchase the rights to display the plates (and you can have them taken off you in extreme circumstances where you display incorrect lettering etc). Once they are on a vehicle they then ‘belong’ to that vehicle. If you then sell the vehicle without having confirmation that the plates have either been ‘retained’ or ‘transferred’…then the rights to the plates transfer to the new legally registered keeper of the vehicle.

Unfortunately all this info is on the v750 that you would have got from the DVLA at the time of purchase.

It sucks but there it is. :(

The 650b Stanton is proper slack…66.5 I think. The green is even better if you view pictures of the sherpa.

    Bit heavier though.

No 26…as far as I am aware.

    Edit…Sorry didn’t realise you were after 650b
