I wouldn’t say they’re leftfield anymore. I have the slants on a HT and are really good so far. Granted they don’t have low speed compression tuning…but for £400 they’ve been much better than any fox I’ve owned. My pikes are plusher IMO but wouldn’t hesitate buying x fusion again.

Taking the total piss IMO. My local lbs guy is awesome…never charges me full price and often does quick jobs like cutting steerer’s for free. He’s top of my Christmas list each year…so probably gets it back at the end of the year to be fair. LBS’ should be cherished (if they’re good that is).

Running both SLX and XT and same clutch mechs with each on 40 and 42. Dropped the chain a few times on really rock stuff so may run a top guide.

Try Ribble for decent prices on the SLX stuff.

If you can afford it, save a bit longer keep your current HT and get a FS. That way you can mix it up and you’ll always be happy. I don’t think I could do without both of mine ;)

Loving the colour scheme and decals. Can you get a sponsorship binners? It may improve their image…unless you’re a fat bloater on a bike? ;)

Had a small issue, in that there was confusion about me having paid and therefore my frame wasn’t posted when it should have been and took a day off work unnecessarily. My frame also came without a head badge and hose clips from the manufacturer, so wished they had just had a quick look to make sure all was in order as it was a PITA to get the headbadge…but to Toms credit he got it sorted after a few weeks of me trying the manufacturer myself.

Yep wheels for me too…drop back to 26″ and you could lose even more weight. ;)

Not sure why they’ve used a SGS rear mech…I ran a GS perfectly with a 38/24?

You’re likely to be faster and probably a lot better on the old joints. Must admit I seem to be riding my HT more and more of late. It also depends on the HT. Steel Bfe or something similar could be better and less maintenance? Oooo…privee shan if you can afford one?

As with all my bikes…just cover the forks with helitape, job done.

Got mine from jtech with custom tune and lowered as part of the price.

Depending where you ride 11-36 and nw is fine. You can always keep the granny on and manually change before the really steep stuff which i did for a while…although i run a 40t on the ht and a 42t on the fs now. I have the same cranks as you and ran them in the middle position. A GS clutch mech is advised. Probably need shorter bolts tho.

That looks nice. Never ran a bash with a double or single. I guess you only need a bash and guide if you’re doing lots of rocky places?

Defo rethink 30t…32t on one ringmaster is a good starting point, but having a 40t hope is a great bail out option…although you could keep the inner ring and change manually before the really steep stuff?

I love finding new trails and usually end up starting at the end in the same way as you OP. What I don’t successfully do is ever manage to link up all of the bits I find ever again into a loop…so it’s like finding everything all over again.

Stanton switchback. 66.5 HA, new fancy wheels and run big forks.

I love my slackline…but it’s way too small for you obviously.

Not a 29er but built up my Transition bandit (26″) with 150 pikes for under 2.5k and under 28lb. Its surprisingly good on the ups as well as the downs. I wouldn’t discount 26″ and bound to be some cracking deals around.

Njee I meant paying nursery fees for my son means I cannot afford to see my daughters as I much would like to (theyre 400miles away).

No idea what’s happening. Massive fight last night and this morning.

Hey ho…guess its time to MTFU.

    Eccentric is 650b tho.

Had the same dilemma OP when looking for a ti 26…couldn’t find one. Seems 142×12 HTs are 650b only apart from the TransAm which is pretty hefty :(

Delivery date on CRC for mag v12 has now moved from 15/05/14 to 03/06/14…gutted…but not unexpected. Has anyone ever actually received an email from CRC to say they have actual stock of something when you sign up to their notification service. I know I haven’t.

What not to do is drink copious amounts of wine and beer the night before the race…and then start off the day with a bacon buttie. Won’t be doing that again at Dyfi.

Have pikes and slants. Slants less stiff and need bedding…small bump sensitivity ain’t great at the mo after 8 hours of riding (but could also be set up).

Pikes plush out the box and stiffer…but I defo need some tokens.

Nice one…the beauty is you can build it over time but still have something to ride at all times. I’d be mental without a bike. Its my only stress relief.

Was that before or after you entered the code for an extra 5% off? The price on the website only shows 10%. Think you needed to us spring14 for the extra 5% off.

I got my bandit 26″ from there last year with £300 off the frame. She’s a real beauty now…old style stealth black, pikes, 1×10 & 42 cog. Got her running at 28lbs.

Not sure about the new frames but I do feel a wee bit perched and pedal strikes can be an issue at first until you get used to the low bb.

Great light feeling climber…and proper ragging downhill. As said it does blow through travel a wee bit so may also get a reducer/tune when I can afford it.

Ran mine with 740mm mt zoom carbon bars, syntace megaforce2 50mm stem, dropper (but had a pro koryak 400mm previously), RQs, dampfs or purgs. Go 1×10 too if you can.

If you’re looking for new forks I still have the fox float 120mm FIT RLC in immaculate condition ;)

No…doesn’t do it for me. Looks ungainly like most other 29ers. White wheels don’t help much neither.
