I’m running the Mt Zoom on an MRP Ribbon and DT 240. Zero issues, but need to remember not lose the spacers when taking the wheel off (which is seldom for me).

    Picking mine up one Monday.

Forgot to mention you need to buy each brake separately doing this! Doh

Just picked up a Sunrace 11-46 to pair with a SRAM set up too. Quite a few options with e13s new 9-46 (but XD only) or a very expensive garbaruk 10-46 option (but massively lightweight)

You should buy my Capra with DVO diamonds and other upgrades :)

I’ve been thinking about the FAST upgrades but they’re way too expensive and would rather spend the money on another fork.

However I am going to try the vorsprung leftkappe for a relatively cheap way of fixing the small bump compliance issue

Answer atac ame. Running one my Switchback with no problems and £40ish from CRC

I once had a syntace megaforce 2 off ebay from the U.S. for just over £50. Stunning piece of kit, lightweight yet really stiff. Only came in 5 degree rise though.

I ditched my 2012 Trek EX8 for a Cotic Soul Mk3 and can honestly say it was one of the best things I did. It’s a proper capable bike. Done most trail centres in Wales, Snowdon, Lakes etc. It’ll handle 4ft drops to flat easily.

I only sold it to get a slacker longer forked stanton. I always wished I’d kept it though.

I have however got my wife an XS one all built up after several months searching for one. :)

PS I found 120mm fork the best after using 140 for a while, but some swear by theirs at 140

    Cotic soul…preferably mk3

Just built up an XS for the wife and it’s being kept for my son to grow into in about 5 years time!

Julians – recluse is a type of small nasty spider in the US, so think it’s in reference to the ‘spider’ frame?

Wrecker is right though in that there are very few 140 frames with slack HAs around. I’ve been looking for one ‘do it all’ bike to reduce my bikes. So far, all I can find is a banshee spitfire, recluse, that new Felt and a very weird looking blue bike that I can’t remember it’s name. They’re all pretty bloody expensive too. My search continues…

Nothing wrong with them Vicky, but she’s just starting out and no point spending the Earth if she decides to give it up after a couple of months

    She’s chosen some 661 filters…which don’t cost the earth

Bit on the pricey side. Teva would have been perfect but they stopping making them

My wife’s XS Cotic Soul frame arrived today and it’ll be built up at the weekend. No ‘thank you’…just ‘couldn’t you get it in red, not orange?’ Lol

^^^ got to be pretty lucky to find an XS. Finally got one for my 5’3″ wife today after 3 months searching.

I’d defo get the Soul mk3 and in trademark orange. Fantastic bike and a decent used one shouldn’t cost you the Earth. Its a very capable bike and mine coped with most stuff I threw at it. Super comfy too.

In fact it replaced a decent 2012 Trek ex8…and felt it was the better bike!

I’ve just picked up a good condition XS mk3 for the wife with Hope headset and BB for about £245.

Quite interesting. Don’t know if it’s right or not. They seem to do quite a lot of cycling research

Have a look at the Pinkbike Tech Tuesday page about chain length. It’s quite good with pics to help.

Its been quite a while since I’ve done one and its pretty hard to explain.

First and foremost make sure you have the log book from whichever country registered in (or you could end up with a Q plate).

You should find all the info you need from the DVLA website and they’ll send you an ‘import’ pack.

I used WTB tape from CRC on mine. No issues for 6 months so far.

Had the Slackline Ti 26 and the older Soul mk3 26.Currently have a mk1 Switchback.

I think the new Slackline has slightly more aggressive geo and 142×12 rear and is a quality bit of kit.

The one thing I’ll say about Cotic, is that I still miss the feel of the Soul. It was really comfy and soaked up all the trail chatter. I’ve just bought my wife an XS Soul…and pretty envious.

I also find their customer service impeccable. It feels like everyone is treated really well and not just if you’re one of their mates.

If you’re after more aggressive trail…slackline. If more trail/xc…soul IMO.

I love the look of these, but think it could look even better with the cable routing a little more tidy. Not sure why the dropper cable guide is off centre or what the bolts under the TT are exactly for, bottle cage or external dropper presumably? Still, I’m glad they haven’t gone fully internal.

It’ll have to be a very good bike to beat something like a Transition Scout. Knowing Cotic, I reckon they’ll give them a run for their money though.

    +1 vaults

At 78kg both pairs have been fine for over a year, but I am tempted by the the podiums.

Fifty fifty look quite good but hard to get hold of

Ideally she’d love a Soul mk3 XS in duck egg blue that I could build up with my old Fox fit rlc’s, but they’re like rocking horse poo!

Had an Orange crush, Cotic soul mk3, Slackline Ti and now on a Switchback mk1.

The switchback is an amazing do it all bike even with the slack HA and find it very ‘comfy.’

I won’t go back to an aluminum frame and quite happy to live with the weight penalty of steel.

Personally, I found running mine at 130 nowhere near as sensitive. Ended up ditching them for non DP forks

3 ‘normal’ KS LEVs and 1 stealth version…never any problems.

    2 reverbs…both awful.

Would really like to try a 9point8.

^^^ yep 2nd that. Very very impressive bike even before you take into account how much good value they are. My only regret is I have last years with the Pikes and not the Lyriks.

All the latest Stanton frames are internally treated. The man himself has said so on the Stanton FB page

Can’t comment on the rims as I had the the ‘all mountains’…but I found the rear hub to be very laggy which was a bit of a nightmare on technical climbs

Try purelyoutdoor. I signed up to their newsletter and got £10 off mine. Be warned that the 598 only comes with Thule bar adapters. I had to buy a separate set for my square bars.

My Capra has never been happier :)
