We used Petdrugsonline for years for our Springer x Lab’s Previcox prescription.
Really easy, you just upload a pic of the prescription and they check it and then send your order.

Potential stealth ad- what about a Devinci Atlas carbon? Just like the large frame sitting in my spare room!
110mm travel, proper XC geometry, lovely and light.

Have sold a few cars that way and it does seem to be a bit better than an auction.
One thing I always say is that I won’t accept any offers without them viewing the car, which seems to weed out  some of the chancers and dreamers.

My boss has a pro conversion based on a MAN that can fit two enduro motorbikes under the bed. It is massive though! L3H3 iirc.

I found that my 650b fs (size L) would fit with the dropper down and the front wheel off but my gravel bike or my 29er fs needed the post taking out as well as the front wheel.

It’s as simple as the dog associating a behaviour with a result. Same as being trained to ‘sit’ or similar with a reward.
Our Springer x Lab used to be the same with injuries. He’d obviously worked out that he got sympathy and a fuss made of him when he had hurt his paw, for example and would then display that behaviour for the reward.

It’s hilly. Definitely. You may be fine on a SS, but if it’s your first time and you have other options I’d go for something with gears.
With regards to dropper post, I don’t think you’d miss one for the actual riding but there are over 100 gates to navigate and I find it more useful for that!

I bought my K2 when I worked for Halfords, which was over 15 years ago! Still going strong but I probably only use it every couple of weeks for car washing or suchlike.

Berlingo is a perfect dog carrying car, especially for a Lab.

    We’ve got a ‘65 plate one.
Nice big boot so plenty of space even if you divide it off to allow extra luggage space as well.

Low, flat boot lip so easy for them to jump in and out (or, when they get too old like our Lab x Springer did, means a ramp has a nice shallow angle.)

Tailgate means you can towel then dry after a wet walk with a bit of shelter from rain and the separate opening glass but means you can open that to give them some air/a drink/ put their lead on without opening the whole thing and then leaping out.

Heavily plastic interior is easy to clean and since the boot is nice and flat you can just put a sheet of rubber down rather than a £££ tailor made protector. Or use a heavy duty ‘shop’ type rubber backed doorway carpet like we do.

We’ve only got our little Pomeranian now as the big boy sadly passed away at Christmas but we’ve still no intention of getting rid of it.

I love you mate. Everyone has to have a dream and I’m glad you have yours.

In the real world however, things are slightly different. Given the credit limit your cage monkey had on the ‘team’ card , I’m not sure why you’d feel the need to waste your beer tokens on kit, however Gucci it was.

Back on thread though, those ‘ex mil’ hydration packs do have nice bladders if nothing  else as they tend to have an anti-bacterial coating.

“Even night vision as a lot of issue stuff is usually pretty middle of the range and worse.”

Erm… yeah. Because commercially available NODS are way better than a set of PVS21, and far cheaper than the £21k a set purchase price of them too. Unless your definition of ‘team’ is a bit different to mine.

Berlingo. Your usage case is literally what we’ve done with ours for the past 4 years, apart from the 2 kids bit.

Yesterday the trust my wife works at (ACP in ED) had at 7am when she arrived- 188 people in the dept with another 74 waiting to be seen. Ambulances stacked 3 deep outside.
That was not an abnormal situation nowadays.
She tells me of patients seeing out their whole stays in hospital of 1-3 days without leaving ED.
She also reckons that most days, there are more patients in ED awaiting admission than there are people waiting outside in ambulances so if they actually did something about patient flow the issue would be dramatically reduced.
In answer to the actual thread, I’ll be avoiding talking to a couple of people I know for fear of assaulting them because of their right wing, Tory opinions.

My XL Planet X Tempest fitted in my R53 with the front wheel off as long as the passenger seat was all the way forward with the back touching the dash.
A fs mtb needed both wheels off though.

Mary Rose and rest of historic dockyard are pretty cool. D day museum in Southsea also quite good and the Southsea Beach cafe (or the 10th Hole for big slices of cake) are only a bit further down for a nice lunch.  Some nice bits round Southsea itself too.
If weather is nice the harbour tour can be pleasant and you have the option of getting off in Gosport to visit the submarine museum.
Spinnaker Tower isn’t worth the entry fee in my opinion (& I spend a lot of time hanging off the outside of it) unless you really want to see the area from a bit higher up! 😂 but Gun Wharf itself is alright if you want to do some shopping although the restaurants are all chain places.
Avoid the town centre, it’s pretty grim nowadays.

I’ve used a Sram 12 speed chainring with a 9 speed Microshift drivetrain with no apparent issues. That was with a 9 speed chain though.

    Money no object? Arc’teryx Alpha.

Mine did 5 years of use for dog walking, hiking and some mtb use before I replaced it with a UF Pro Monsoon which wouldn’t be great for cycling due to the cut but is awesome for pretty much everything else.

Mine are pretty much all Halfords Pro (from when I worked for them over 20 years ago) including a set of the flexi head ratchet spanners. They can be life savers but there are times when they are a bit too bulky so it’s worth having a set of ‘normal’ ring spanners as well.

Asap is not designed to be used without the associated’lanyard’ pack though and is effectively useless below 2m due to the way it works. Needs sternal attachment point too.
Shunt no longer certified by Petzl as a back up device and only sold as a rope grab. Make of that what you will- biggest danger with a shunt is it being towed down the line in descent. The Duck does basically the same thing and is certified for that use but has the same inherent risks. There’s a reason that both devices are getting rarer in the rope access world.
ISC Rocker (or one of the many licensed versions) probably best but that is designed to be used with a max 30cm lanyard on a sternal attachment point.
Prussic isn’t really a bad idea to be honest. As long as the cord you use is appropriate for the diameter of rope you are climbing. It’s probably what I’d use.

Not an absolute no per se, in my opinion. But I think you’d be better waiting until he’s a bit older and more likely to be settled, not disturbed or spooked by noises outside etc.

We did it with our two on a holiday in Wales a few years ago.

They were left in the motorhome whilst we rode for a couple of hours (at Llandegla, Coed Y Brenin, Afan and Cam Carn) but that was after a good hour plus walk for them first and they were aged 10 and 4 at the time.

It’s a bigger and more insulated space too. With all the curtains/blinds closed & skylights open it wasn’t particularly warm. (It was also the end of September so fairly cool compared to mid summer )

Well, last night was a little better- didn’t have any caffeine after my morning coffee, stuck with decaf tea for the rest of day.
Still in bed by half 9 but as usual I read for around an hour before turning the light off. Don’t think it took me long to drop off as usual.
I put some white noise on the Echo, this may have helped a bit when I woke at 03:40 and went to the loo as when I got back into bed I didn’t hear the Mrs which is one of the triggers for me not getting back to sleep. I drifted off a bit and had some more sleep in short stints but was still up at half 5.
So around 5 hours of decent sleep followed by 90 min or so of ‘naps’.
Wife is on nights tonight and tomorrow for the first time in absolutely ages so it will be interesting to see whether I sleep any better with her absent from the bed.
It is interesting to read in between the various bits of advice (thanks guys) that there are also plenty of people whose sleep pattern is similar to mine.

When I’m working away I sleep until my alarm mostly but it is set for 5:30-6am!
I sleep much better in our caravan, which has single beds. Still tend to wake but find it much easier to get back to sleep and stay asleep, often until 7-7:30.
At home it doesn’t seem to matter if wife is in bed or not, but I also recognise the idea that we keep waking each other at times with little snores, grunts, tossing and turning. That’s generally why I give up on being in bed and go downstairs as that way at least it’s only me being disturbed.
I read that Guardian article too, after posting this thread!

Not an exact science but last year when we part exchanged our motorhome against a caravan they gave us £18k for it. Saw it for sale a month later on their website for £23k and it wasn’t listed that long so I assume they got that.
Much like a car really, best price by selling privately but there are a few ‘we buy Motorhomes for cash’ type places. They are usually one of the large dealer networks buying in stock but in the above situation none of them offered more than the PX we got and they were all a bit lower; £16-17k.
You can guarantee they will say it has damp somewhere too….

8-15 pints a week, a couple a day at the local. Been like that for a lot of this year but have made a concerted effort recently to cut down a bit as it has been affecting my sleep and my waistline! Last 4 weeks I have had 4 or 5 pints total and I feel much better for it.
Guy at my local is known as “Johnny 5” because as well as his name actually being John, he comes in at around 5 after work every day and has 5 pj ts of Guinness. Says he doesn’t drink at home and he doesn’t drink at weekends when he’s got his daughter. He’s a roofer and I do t know how he manages it day after day with that much beer inside him!

The network of Voie Vert around Brittany was a pretty good way of getting around by bike when we were there a couple of years ago. Mixture of very quiet roads, gravel tracks and segregated cycle paths. Quite good to use as a base for putting routes together too.

Golden Lion is a Britstop pub so well used to having motorhomes.
You won’t be able to park in sight at Port Solent but it’s a popular place to park up and wait for ferries so again they are quite used to it.

Off the ‘27 and over Portsdown Hill to the Golden Lion in Southwick. About 6-7 miles from ferry terminal.
Cracking pub with excellent beers and good food as well as a bit of history to it.
But check that they are open as they do keep ‘traditional’ pub hours.

I wear their trousers a lot for work as they are comfy, have pockets that can be accessed whilst in a harness and knee pads pockets. The my fit quite close to the leg but with decent amounts of stretch panels they articulate really well. They are pretty hard wearing too.
I’ve not worn them on the bike though, so no idea what they would be like for that!

It’s only a little more than the quote I had last week for basically the same thing (£12.5k for us).
Won’t  be happening here for a while at that price unfortunately, maybe in 6 years when the mortgage is cleared…

No idea about from a nuisance point of view but maybe a call to the rspca with a ‘concern for welfare’ about a dog left outside unattended? May need to lay it on a bit thick, but a visit from them might buck the owner’s ideas up a bit…

Theres one near me that barks constantly from about 4pm until 9pm, presumably out outside once owner gets home until they go to bed. Really annoys me for the simple reason that my 2 are absolutely fine when left to the garden (with the back door open as we only do it when we are in) apart from that dog setting mine off, and the odd cat or bird that obviously hasn’t got the memo about the garden being out of bounds from the dogs!

We have had the same tenants in our rental flat for 5 years.
Not only have we not raised the rent, but in fact have just dropped it by £50 per month as it has all electric heating (no mains gas) which we know is t the cheapest thing in the world to run.

I’m currently selling a Landrover Discovery, it’s for half a tank of fuel in it. I’ve sometimes jokingly referred to fuel in the car as a selling point in the past, but now it probably is as that’s about £80 worth of diesel!
