Been to all 3 places summer and winter.

Summer is campervan, however serre Che is by far the biggest area and we got a very cheap apartment there for a snowboard trip. I would focus the search there

You can also attach a shower head and have a lovely outdoor shower on your van. Nothing a like more than a naked wash with a view!

    I have one from Lomo

    http://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/motorcycle-drybag-rucksack.html#SID=116

It’s done 3 years of daily use. Roll top bits are cracking a bit but completely waterproof still

Most recent bike was interest free credit.

Motorbike I did interest free credit card for 48 months a few years ago.

If I was buying a car I would lease.

Bought van to to convert into camper. Bank loan. 2% interest or something.

Means I get warranty etc…. hopefully no big repair bills and monthly payment is affordable with secure job(teacher).

Previous van had a few big bills, worked out that a loan on a brand new van wouldng be much more so eent with that.

Same reason I would lease – predictable outgoings.

If I know my employment status is safe, interest is low and I know I can comfortably afford monthly payments.

Drive to southern Spain? Europe is so easy, factor in .cheap hotel of you need to.

I spend a lot of time driving around Europe on adventures. It’s so easy, did the Algarve for Christmas. 18hour drive, but an easy and quiet drive between 2 of us. Soon forgotten…..

Thanks for the advice all. Found original application, no mention of doors not allowed but no request either.

Will keep nagging planning and pay relevant fees, only way to find out.

Have considered the shed in a shed scenario but don’t really want to buy a house with that scenario

Bend those knees, load the edge and stay relaxed as others have said.

Girlfriend and I both bought new boards for this year…..gnu zoid and gnu riders choice. Could not believe the difference, so much more hold, a revelation. Edge hold is incredible.

Montgenevre could suit. Super fun. Quiet too so trails stay smooth. Serre Chevalier down the road too.

I found Ellis Island fascinating, ferry passes statue of liberty too.
Empire state building at midnight was amazing and no queue

polypro rash vest can help with warmth. Please do not buy one of the thin lycra ones. Lovely thing to keep cold wet material next to the skin!! However, polypro vests are quite thick so would make wetsuit a big horribly tight / stretch it if you do it all the time.

You really shouldn’t need more than a 4/3 for UK summer/Autumn. If you do the suit is rubbish / fits badly.

Problem is wetsuit manufacturers can quote 4/3 because a small panel is 4mm. Another brand might have half the suit in 4mm.

my pikes went to TF tuned 2 years ago after developing a creak. Not super loud but noticeable. They serviced them and said I could buy a new crown assembly for lots and lots or just ride them. They “no doubt unofficially” said that it’s not a safety issue and they wouldn’t fall apart on me. I still ride them, they creak, if i go fast i dont notice. Will be riding my creaky pikes this summer in the Alps :D

I have just done exactly that. Fabricator made our bed over boot framework and seating framework for the van.
Took a few sessions going over drawings and then a few mods once made to adjust for a few things.
Cost £680 for the 2 things. Really pleased with how it’s worked out. Super solid. Better then using wood and I can take in and out do the van in minutes if I wanted to….

If your near Okehampton in Devon the guy was great!

Friend at work wears a needessentials – cheap and he is very impressed 5mm hooded.

My finisterre is awesome but more than £200. I have a Vissla 5/3. In skinny and fit is great, often a small is still baggy on my waist/hips and it fits great. Or worn a lot yet though to comment on longevity.

Depends where you are. Parents just sold a flat in Bristol. Took a week from advertising to accepting an offer

If it was my only bike I think I would fit Blutos. Felt pretty wrecked when I rode the fatty at trail centres. But I like it being either hard work or rigid for different riding and making boring Dartmoor interesting.

Thermawrap is a sound prouder as well, the cab/engine is so quiet we wanted to try to
    Keep the whole van quiet.
Didn’t and haven’t ever stressed too much about vapour barrier. Sunroof is open most of the time for ventilation.
Your van will be hot in the summer – fit a sunroof of you haven’t already!
We use ours a lot and have been happy with the insulation in the last one for all year round use. I don’t like working with celotex and find I can’t stuff it in all the small places.

    Just done my mwb Ducato.
    Walls first-
Thermawrap on all flat panels as insulation and sound deadening
    Silver foil everywhere else
Then recycled plastic bottle insulation in all cavities.
    Silver over the top.
    Then ply and carpet

Thermawrap on roof in between battening. Will put thermawrap on bottom of roof ply for more insulation and sound proofing

Flow has thermawrap on floor inbetween 9mm ply strips.

Did the same on last van, used silver foil instead of thermawrap to save money. No issues in 8 years….maybe it’s a ball of rust under the conversion!!

    Mini Simmons?
If you are used to a longboard then you need volume, but surely you want something that feels different to ride?
Gf has a watershed Simmons, been used a lot the last 3 years and still looks great. Wave catching machine but she has happily used it on bigger days when she doesn’t want to ride her shortboard

But sure why you would limit yourself to a2. I wonder if insurance is cheaper with full licence…..
I think the character of a bike is much more a factor in how you ride it than engine size. And the rider obviously….

I just got my ducato mwb. The quality is a huge step up from previous 2008 model I had. Will be my only vehicle. Impressed with everything so far…..just need to turn it into a camper now!

I pronate pretty severely in neutral shoes. Hate the support.
Fair analysis I agree ia nonsense, however it was a good decision to go somewhere and run on the treadmill. However….sometimes they just aren’t right. It will be annoying and is sometimes an expensive mistake but you will know after a few runs, don’t persist….

Swb Peugeot boxer. The boot is Half height but fits 3 bikes width ways with front wheels off(wheels go in the boot too). L shape seating with kitchen unit behind front seats.
Van is 6ft wide so double bed goes widthways, gives a lot more room. At 5″8 I can stand up to cook etc….even with low roof.
If you have a boot make sure it’s big enough for muddy kit too, keeps the living bit so much nicer!

My camper is my only vehicle.
It’s amazing how’s many times you make a coffee or lunch etc…when you didn’t think you would. Not sure the weight Is really an issue with a van either.
Saying that….my new van that I will be converting this year will have a bed unit that’s can be removed for the twice a year ish that I might want to transport my motorbike. Not sure if I will ever use the feature though….

Be discrete and sensible. Stay tidy. Pick up any other rubbish where you stay. Don’t be right outside a campsite. Don’t stay in the same spot for nights in end.
I haven’t stayed at a campsite for easily the last 5 years in the uk and Europe. Did 100 nights in our van last year. There are thousands of places to stay.
Always consider….who is going to tell us to move on at midnight.!?!

Buy a used post on eBay with the lever you want. Swap levers. Sell post again.
Or just sell you old post.

I bought non stealth for £95. Put RH lever into my bike and intended to sell the non stealth on again. Ended up putting non stealth onto my fat bike….
But I’m sure if I had sold post again I wouldn’t have lost much more than 10/20£ so a much cheaper option than a new lever.

I have the TomTom runner (without HR)
I was never interested in getting a gps watch but it was £50 on sportpursuit so gave it ago.
Very simple to use, not to big on the wrist like many peoples at the running club. Tells me all I would ever need to know – miles, average pace, live pace.
bluetooth link with phone is really easy to show route and a bit more info.

    depending on where you live….
motorcyclemegastore in Swindon is well worth a visit. We live in Devon but took g/f there when she needed kit and I will be visiting soon for some new leathers. Huge range of stuff and usually lots on sale. We have found it worth the 2 hour trip just to be able to try lots of things on.

Alpin….big factor for not waiting is so that I i don’t look like that person!

Transporter 13- looks like tax bands change is only for cars. And from April….

Think I will just pick it up as soon as. Let the camper conversion begin..
