    Great course and great atmosphere!

There seemed to be alot of folk who had said mean things about the puncture fairy, one guy who had a double after the bridge.

The bridge was great for the first half, but as I got more tired it turned into a case of point it downwards and hang on.

See you all next year if I get an invite.

P.S. Anyone know when the full results are due out?

No pinging from my own handbuilt wheels either, de-stressed as they are built you see – HTH.

    (Wheelpro graduate)

Completely agree with the above, the Wheelpro book emphasises good practice right from the off.

I can't complain about Superstar's delivery though, or to date the performance of their brake pads.

Is this the first example of a unanimous response from the STW collective?

I wouldn't go near those bars, as someone said earlier, either damaged when clamping the brakes and shifters or a stack which has caused them to dig into the bars.

[Edit: Well clearly myhedsashed and I agree ]

Didn't see this earlier, I have a larger Asgard shed, which fits four bikes. I have had it for well over a year and it looks as good as the day it went up.

I rate it, looks good, feels really strong and went together very easily. I have a Torq (sp) ground anchor, with a 16mm chain and lock for security purposes as I put down a concrete base specifically for the shed.

Definitely recommended, hope you get on with yours.

They were pretty snug last year TBH.

Only problem I had was the heroes next door and bullsh*t they were feeding some poor lass till god-knows-what time in the morning.

Obviously I've asked to be placed near them again this year so I can judge whether they've refined their technique.

Specialised Eskar, front and rear, but that's only because I run them all year round and on all surfaces.

They can be a little uncertain in proper mud, but I really like them in the dry.

Looking forward to the Bikefest again this year.

I got a Genesis Day One cross through Halfords cylce to work.

Took ages, but that seemed to be on account of there being none in the country.

I will also be running Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday. I was more nervous/exited last year as it was my first ever marathon. Now as a veteran of 'one' previous marathon, i am much more calm and collected.

Yep, that's me a first-time nervous/excited wreck! I've got the support crew with the post-race beer sorted already, but I'm going to give it a miss beforehand. This time :D

I think you get a bit giddy when you're tapering for something big – all that pent up energy waiting to pop

I think you may be on to something there. Plus I did the Manchester 10Km on Sunday and smashed my time from last year by 5 minutes whilst taking it steady. As you can imagine this hasn't help me maintain much of a sense of perspective!

I heard them do a do-wop version of 'Dontcha' on Radio 2 the other day.

I thought it was pretty clever, but I do fear any popularity they have will be short lived. By the sounds of things I'm not sure that will bother them as they seem to be in it for the music and the live effect.

If it's H'fords, then shop policy I would have thought.

My H'fords C2W bike last year came in a box and this year's bike (Genesis Day One Cross) will also be in a box when I pick it up. On Monday or Tuesday, whoop!

I have no problem specifically with H'fords, but I would check it all anyway so I might as well put it together.

David Millar's winning time trial in the final stage of 3 days of De Panne that grabbed him both the stage and overall race victory.

Pretty much says it all. Impressive enough to win a professional road-race, but I guess it'll never be enough for some

War stinks. The Red Army are driving on to Berlin in 'Berlin' at the moment and the correlation between senior incompetence and rank and file death is clear to see.

I found 'Berlin' really hard going, I don't know whether it was the subject matter but the relentless, and in the vast majority of cases needless, slaughter really got me down.

    +1 for Jutland.

    I'd recommend 'The Long Walk'

Gatland is a top bloke, he actually says stuff rather than emitting standard coach-talk.

I think Wales really are the superior side but they're definitely just not clicking.. I am becoming more and more convinced that my theory is correct; that Gatland is just using this tournament as experimentation

That's pretty hard to imagine, in sport winning and losing are habits. Playing badly and losing for the sake of experimentation does not sound like the plan of a sane man!

I've used a pair for over a year, riding in the Peak, the lakes and around Lancashire.

They went up easily on UST rims, stayed up and have never caused a minutes trouble. At the time I was 16-17 stone and running c.25-30 psi.

    Highly recommended by me.

Got my current position through Total Jobs, but that was before all this recession business, c.2.5 years.

Only sent my CV for two and got replies from both. Might just be a case of keep plugging away, until you are certain it's a wasted effort!

Do people change locks when they move in a house? Bought and sold several houses over the years and never changed locks.

+1 for clean it, my current place I think they packed the vacuum away when I put in the offer!

I changed the mortice locks to 5-levers for insurance purposes, rather than paranoia.

I have a pair of 'five fingers' which I was happy with for a couple of weeks.

That is until I used them for two sessions in two days, after which I felt like I had broken all of my toes. It took about three weeks to make a full recovery.

Did I just over do it on the amount I used them or is it possible to run too much on your toes, if you see what I mean?

I do like them and would like to give fore-foot running another try, but I am training for a marathon in May so can't really afford three weeks out!

Aye, I know that, I just meant that I'll try and spell those rules out a little better and hope people play the game! Besides, it might be a netball team special….

How about an Elena Dementieva special, that would wile away a couple of hours?

    The Sure Thing?

A college student plans a cross-country trip to get laid, but ends up traveling with a young woman. They hate each other, so naturally…

Plot-wise, pretty close but missing the Dylan tune.

It actually looks like it might be worth a watch, particularly Nicolette Sheridan as a 'Sure Thing'!

I had a cross bike (old Kona Jake the Snake) but bought a Boardman Team Comp road bike on C2W. Liked the look of that Genesis at the time. Roads round here are rubbish, and cobbles etc near work, but it is so much faster than the CX bike. Proper, silly light as well.

Depends what you want it for, I was a roadbike-hater and never thought I'd have one, but didn't use CX for off road more than twice in two years.

If you're set on a CX bike tho, the Genesis does look very good. Long lead times when I looked.

Where did you see the information on the lead times? I have been waiting three weeks for a Genesis Day-One, but just assumed it was Halfords and their suppliers being slow.

do halves count? – i'm in the sheffield half.

i've not been running seriously for about a year, as i'm struggling with a recurring foot injury – which i can avoid if i run in a barefoot style, but by crikey it's hardwork on the calf muscles!

    aiming for a 1:40.

    Half marathons definitely count.

I love the half marathon distance, it's a proper run but without being so long that you'll do yourself a mischief if you blow up or pace it wrong.

I am doing the Bristol Half again this year (but taking sun-block).
