I’ve been with smile for about 10yrs now. No issues, and without exception the people on the end of the phone have been helpful and entirely competent. Never gone past the overdraft limit though so no idea on charges if you do.+1
The smile staff that I have dealt with have been efficient and friendly. The account setup and day-to-day use has been simplicity itself.

matt_blFree MemberAndy Schleck will be 5 minutes clear coming into the the last mountain stage but will throw it away trying let his brother win the polka-dot jersey. Net result they both win bog all as per usual.

matt_blFree MemberLegionella has to be inhaled into the lungs as an aerosol in order to be hazardous. It is once in the lungs that toxins are released which attack the tissue of the alveoli.
Hot water should be frequently above 60C as this will very rapidly kill off legionella. Below 20C for cold water and you will slow down growth of the organism considerably. Cold may not be completely effective as no-one is 100% sure what the infectious dose is.
You could drink water containing legionella without any significant risk. It has been around in the environment for thousands of years without causing problems, it it us who have provided the habitat and the means of infection.
Keep the aerosol risk down and/or respirator and your mate should fine and dandy.

Have you tried googling NFL/NBA jump training as both of these sports take it pretty serious. In the four hour body by Tim Ferriss he covers improvements in jumping and sprinting, precisely because they are so in demand as metrics for the NFL/NBA.
Worth a read for this and many other bits of, often counterintuitive, study.

matt_blFree MemberGreat win by Wiggo! He was never fazed, even when mountain goats like Rodriguez broke up the pace with sharp little digs. I think he’ll give 3rd place on the podium a real go this year especially as the team will be stronger for the TDF.
Cadel Evans is class though, a real gutsy rider and one who clearly doesn’t like losing. Outside the heat of the moment he comes across really well. Never really had teams built around him, so has frequently had to perform when isolated.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberStunning looking fame though! Anyone know what the retail will be for a real one?

What I really want to know is how much easier it is to haul my ass up hills!
Hill climb time trial then.
I find you don’t notice getting faster up hills when you ride alone, it’s only when you go out with your mates and wonder what’s wrong with them all..
Now that’s exactly the kind of metric I’m looking for :D

Matt you need to completely ignore the BF measurements on scales.I understand where you’re coming from here, on a day to day basis the result seems to be at best meaningless, as an example the BF% results got lower and lower all week, then jumped by over 1% this morning. All results taken at the same time on the same scales etc.
I’m just using the daily data to look for a long term trend. If over the first four weeks or so it appears to have some relevance, particularly if there is a half decent agreement with physical measurements, then I’ll carry on, if not I’ll just sack it off.
What I really want to know is how much easier it is to haul my ass up hills!
Matt
matt_blFree MemberSo two weeks in and the losses have been:
Wk 1: -2.0 Kg, -0.4% BF
Wk 2: -0.5 Kg, +0.1% BFI’m happy with the wieght loss, although it would have been much better if yesterday was the weigh-in (I really hate baseline noise!). Doing all my measurements on a Saturday when I have more time, so can’t really comment on inches lost yet.
The eating itself has been pretty easy and the meals not as repetitive as I had thought they would be, planning well seems to be the key for me. Conquered the flat-breads now, they are especially good with Black Onion seeds, as Dave suggested.
I was disappointed with ‘Cheat Day’, particularly how quickly I felt sick and how rubbish I was compared to normal. It’s ‘Cheat Day’ again tomorrow, so roll-on fruit, breakfast cereal, yoghurt and rice pudding. All my cravings this week.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberThanks for the replies.
I hadn’t thought of using an egg, but I’ll give it a try.
I’m getting more clued up on the low/high GI thing but then it’s made more complicated by idiet exceptions!
Matt
matt_blFree MemberThis should test the knowledge of the idiet collective.
A recipe for flatbreads I have found includes arrowroot. I made some last night without and I’m guessing ths makes them a little more flexible, shall we say. Mine tasted nice but were more snappy than bendy.
I’m off to source some more ingredients this lunchtime, so can I put arrowroot on my list or is it a no no?
The custard rule isn’t helping as I’m sure it could be incorporated into some manner of jelly (which I would custardize).
Other than that first week done tomorrow and all going well. Looking forward to my first off-day on Sunday.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberDay 3 and all going well, haven’t been on the scales, but have been out on my bike!
What are you guys having for snacks, in the past it would be fruit or something like low fat yoghurt, so I’m a bit stumped?
Matt
matt_blFree MemberWe had almost exactly the same symptoms with our Tonkinese. The vet gave him the standard treatments, kaolin, anti-inflamitories, some other orange stuff that he spat out and it stained the paintwork!
About 2-3 weeks ago the vet went for steriods an a change of food. This has ‘solved’ the problem within two days. The food is Purina hypoallergenic.
I am anxiously waiting the steroid wearing off in the next week or so.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberI’ve been following the thread with some interest and I’ve decided to start the plan today. To be honest my diet has been drifting towards the ‘allowed’ foods for the past couple of years as I have issues with wheat.
I’m currently 100.1 Kg (seemed a good place to begin) so I’ve got some work to do, especially to get to 10-12% body fat. My first meal, this evening, is going to be chilli with the STW gram flour flatbread!
Matt
matt_blFree MemberIt’s a supermarket job, specifically a company operating in a car park at Halfords/Carpet Right/KFC.
Ernie, I’m going to run upstairs immediately and pass that advice on.
Thanks for the links I’ll check them out.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberThe frequency command is your friend if you want a histogram.
I’ll have a look see if there’s an example to hand.
Edited for example:
=Frequency(value range, histogram bin range) then use ctrl, shift, return to make it an array command.
You can put as many bins in the histogram as you want, the frequency command will return all values less than the bin value (and above the previous bin obviously).
Hope this helps

A cat hit me recently (honest, it looked like it was going to cross in front then panicked and ran along side the car and then I guess panicked again and ran into my car, luckily it just bounced off the wheel and then ran off :p ) but I did wonder what I’d do if I squashed one. It’s unlikely it would be from the houses immediately around so I guess it would be a case of me taking it to the vet but then who pays? Call me callous but I don’t fancy paying £100’s for someone else’s cat that had a death wish…Hundreds of pounds! That’s either a cheap vet or all your doing is burying it.
Four grand the vet charged to rebuild our cat after he was hit by a car. Mind you he is mostly titanium now :D

matt_blFree MemberDave,
I’m starting the iDave
dieteating plan a week on Monday, after I run the Edinburgh marathon (a trifling 42Km). I’ve marvelled at your self-control in some of the idiet threads. Was 100Km not a huge enough challenge, that you decided to do it at altitude aswell? Any-which-way, chapeau!
I’ll assume a decent loss for the future and pitch in!
Matt
matt_blFree MemberZipvit blackcurrant flavour for me. Tastes sod all like blackcurrant but the one’s with caffeine give you a serious high about ten minutes after taking it.
I haven’t found anything that packs a bigger carb punch either.
I can’t eat or drink anything by Lucozade after last year’s Edinburgh marathon. That chemical orange taste just makes me retch.

Yep go to a running shop and get assessed.Ive just got back into running and this very week I went into Sweatshop and got videoed running on a treadmill. Now I ve always needed support shoes as I moderately pronate or so I thought. Turns out I massively pronate. The shop suggested two appropriate shoes for my running style and purchased a pair of Nike zoom structures and can honestly say they are by far the most comfortable running shoes i have ever had
+1, plus they will do a 30 day no quibble exchange and 10% off for ‘Park-runners’
I don’t work there, but the service I got in their Manchester Arndale branch was fantastic and I have never had shoes as comfortable.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberWe’ve got one.
Apparently it won’t work unless it recognises that defibrilation is required.
A good bloody job considering some of our first aiders!
Matt
matt_blFree MemberCheers guys,

Sums it up. Gerrard rarely misses penalties.Mate of mine is texting me to calm down (!) as Woy can’t be sacked during the game itself. I want to know why not.
I’ve known players given the boot at half time, so I’m with you on that one.
matt_blFree MemberCome back’s on. If they win this Roy will get promoted!
Edit: Gerrard not so good at the penalty game, as you were Roy

Aye mate – Big Sam, Gary Megson, John Barnes, Steve Maclaren – you can take your pick.Or all four of them. Anything to stop them thinking they might try and resurrect their careers at Burnley!
matt_blFree MemberI reckon she’ll have to do the rounds tonight, popping in to Wolverhampton and Newcastle.

Thanks
Mattmatt_blFree MemberTJ, BAA has posted a loss for the first half of the year according to the news this morning.
We made a fat profit last year and are still in profit this year, but our pay-rise was 1% less than the BAA offer.

matt_blFree MemberCan't find anything else in the house that should be on and isn't.
I'm not sure I'm as confident as you with electrics Kip so I'll probably follow your second line of advice and call a sparks in the morning.
Might carry on with trying lights and all that sort of thing, it's something to do!
Thanks guys
Mattmatt_blFree MemberCraig,
Yeah, it's got tapped holes at the dropouts and on the seatstays.
Matt
matt_blFree MemberJared Graves looking (and actually was) unbeatable, but some great races.
Is there any update on the guy who wrecked his ankle, planting it to take the first turn. Looked really nasty
Matt
matt_blFree MemberThanks guys, so many fantastic stories and ideas!
I'll let you all know how it goes.

Does he want a race bike or a bike for all round duties? Both of his suggestions so far are quite racy, so might not be that great for general riding stuff.
I thought the same thing, I would say it would be more general riding with the occasional weekend warrior type race thrown in for good measure.
