Haven’t you heard, old rice is deadly poison <ducks and runs away>
Reheating boiled or steamed rice is fine, but it just needs to be heated thoroughly!

Also, who doesn’t love an Uncle Roger video!

This is true, especially the episode where Gordon Ramsey decides to take grilled cheese to another level!

As a spectator, watching my sister, did similar to Mark88.

Bimbled to Greenwich first thing, saw her just before 10k. Took the foot tunnel to the Isle of Dogs and saw her twice more where the course goes bascially either side of a pub. Jumped on the tube and saw her for a final time at Westminster.

The speed of your runner will determine what you can do on the day. It is busy but not to the extent that you can’t get where you want to go.

Enjoy the day and hope your son goes well

As much as Brand is clearly loathsome, he hasn’t been convicted of any crime (yet) and this is his job, the vast majority of his content is of the tin foil hat variety, and whilst I don’t agree woith what he says, he is entitled to broadcast those views on a public platform.

Brand is entitled to say what he likes, within the laws of the UK. He is not entitled to a means of broadcast and nobody has to provide him a platform. Rumble are choosing to continue working with him, Youtube have chosen a slightly different approach.

The issue is suggesting Maro Itoje doesn’t look English. 1/5 of everyone in England and Wales would not fit your stereotype.

Wait til you find out about Maro Itoje and Talupe Faletau!

    @molgrips

Well Itoje was born in Camden and Faletau in Tonga, so I’m not sure what your point is?

Another player heading off to semi retire early.

Regarding Chelsea, is their scouting technique to basically just sign anyone they fancy then work out if they want to keep them?

Why on earth would you have a picture of a serial killer up in your drinking den? Very odd. Lovely house though. Compare what that money would get you in London.

@Tired did you mean descending in this TT?

I haven’t seen any footage suggesting that Pidcock is that good on a TT bike. From all of the footage I’ve seen the best descender yesterday was Pello Bilbao, he was buttery smooth.

I agree it seems an increasingly difficult fit into the global sporting calendar.

The Birmingham games have been described as extremely positive for the city, in terms of infrastructure and legacy. My impression was that they were extremely realistic in terms of new building and where the events were held.

Victoria proposed a multi-city approach which seemed ambitious initially, then spiralled out of control.

I’m away this weekend so I’ll miss the opening stages.

    Official Giro website is here:
    https://www.giroditalia.it/en/the-route/

There were some pictures on a Twitter thread the other day showing some of the passes still under a lot of snow.

This is how you tell what time of year it is.

Images of passes with snow, Giro coming up

Cyclists in sunflower fields, time for the tour

No need for calendars or that fancy rubbish

Our family spectating plan (me and my two siblings have all run it) tends to be some minor variation on, Cutty Sark, Isle of Dogs/Canary Wharf, then Embankment

All give a decent chance of being actually able to see the runner. The cheers on Embankment were perfect timing for me as I was just realising I wasn’t going to get my goal time.

It’s easy then for runners and spectators to get to horseguards for a meet at the end.

The ‘London Marathon Cheats’ thread on the Runnersworld forum, was always one of my favourites. People used to spend a great deal of time hunting, analysing split times, checking the photos, looking into previous race performance of Pof10 etc.

I have no doubt there was the odd ‘honest’ cheat amongst them, dropped out, got a lift to the finish and somehow registered a time collecting their bag, but the majority seemed to have jumped the barrier after tower bridge and just brazenly carried on. Many didn’t realise they were setting world class times for those sections of the race, they would have been better off having a rest and a coffee before starting again.

There are some things about the current case which are extremely fishy, based only on the none details in the article. Her leg started to hurt and a friend with a car was conveniently there (looked like a hilly bit as well).

This is not the London Marathon, where if you get back on course, it’s difficult to get back off, especially at the finish. She could have easily not crossed the line.

The line about not wanting to interfere with the 2nd woman’s race, or not wanting to be asked ‘how the f did you get here?’

    The whole thing reeks!

It’s a tough one. I was as skeptical as anyone, when some of the details of the Burnley buyout became public, complained about the sales of all of our ‘best’ players etc.

When you listen to Alan Pace speak about the club and the town, it’s difficult to see him as a mini Glazer and I do find myself warming to him.

VK on the other hand is just fantastic. I have no doubt that he will at some point go on to much bigger things than Burnley.

For next year I just hope that some of our loan players, realise that they have a good thing here in East Lancs and stick with us.

The club know they’re not going to win anything this year (including European football) so don’t really care and presumably Frank thinks it’s going to be the thing that turns has career around.

You could argue that not rushing into deciding who they want to give 50 million to in six months time is pretty sensible by Chelsea’s standards!

I agree with you @wbo Lampard’s been at best, bang average and he doesn’t strike me as the type to go and learn from other people. Compare and contrast with Eddie Howe

    Missed the ‘never happy bloke’

And it is always a bloke! No matter how slowly, politely you approach him, it will always be wrong. If you say ‘excuse me’, he will respond with ‘get a bloody bell’, whereas if you ring your bell he’ll pull a sour face and tell you ‘just because you’ve rung you bell doesn’t mean i’m jumping out of your way!’. To be fair we knew that.

The trick with running shoes is try a vast range until you find a pair that fit like a glove and in which you never get injured.

Once you are in that state of nirvana, buy the same shoe but the ‘new’ model and cripple yourself within 5k (I’m looking at you New Balance).

    Then rinse and repeat.

I love Hoka shoes, for me they are super comfy and they do a wide version. I haven’t had a pair cripple me yet and I can boast 20kg more than you on a bad day.

Ah I was just going to check that, as I don’t know whether they have a no repeats policy at wordle.

I’d guess the actual odds are only around a few thousand to 1, good, but not lottery good

Camera and report directly to the police. It is unfortunately the only thing which will have an effect.

What you have described in the OP is an offence.

It may be rather useful to effectively trap a lot of Russian resources in there temporarily.

Yeah I thought the same thing. Plus salt mines really can’t be the best place to store already shonky Russian military equipment. (Never buy a second hand bike that’s lived by the coast!)

That’s not the case. Salt mines are generally lovely and dry, otherwise they wouldn’t have salt in them, it would dissolve.

I think there are some in the Peak area in the UK which are used for storage of documents and stuff.

Got to be up there as one of the best test matches ever.

Both sides deserve immense credit, for giving us a match where >1600 runs were scored. 37 wickets were taken and all four results were possible at tea on day five.

    matt_bl

332 scored by tea on the first day! That’s some fairly brutal hitting. Let’s hope they push on and give Pakistan some proper scoreboard pressure.

Actual AF beer contains less than 0.05% ABV, which is probably below that kind of level you could get with other products and accidental fermentation. Boiling off the ethanol is going to get rid of a load of other stuff as well, plus cause all sorts of other reactions. In short as above it will taste dreadful.

I find there are some good things on offer, Erdinger is perfectly drinkable for me, but they always have a thin taste.

I’m going with the OPs original theme of standardisation.

    Crisp bag colours:
    Salted = Red
    Salt and Vinegar = Green
    Cheese and onion = Blue

More added if any new flavours are invented. Transgressors will obviously be boiled in oil.

It’s always been there and as far as I can tell it will always be there. Every club has it’s own share of bile-spitting thugs. At some moments in time they are more empowered and they pull some of the ‘potential’ thugs with them.

I worry that we are heading for one of those times, where violence, racism etc., will be a regular occurrence.

Education goes so far. The ones who are willing to watch/listen and take it in will change. The rest need to be dealt with by enforcement.

There is almost zero risk of being caught breaking the law on the roads these days.

I think part of the aggression is down to a proportion of motorists, being sold a dream of freedom and then having to deal with the reality that actually driving is a bit shit and even cyclists can get there quicker than they can.
