Other than a crime number you will get nothing from the Police. Get Ebay and Paypal involved ASAP and do all you can to delay/redirect the delivery.

Current F1 cars are limited to 100 ltrs per race. Fuel consumption at Silverstone equates to more than 8mpg so F1 is certainly moving in the right direction.
Awaits severe ticking off from the Fun Police….

Stockpiling is a major factor, be it in the supply chain or by the end user. The amount of medicines that are thrown away is amazing. As beneficiaries of the NHS we all have a responsibility to try and cut down on waste. The whole just in case mentality would change dramatically if we had to pay the actual costs involved.
If you had entered a cycling event and the organiser was giving you a free spare inner tube, most people would take it. If you were offered a second free tube you’d probably decide that it was prudent to take that also. However, if the second spare tube was £5 the vast majority of people would make do with the one free spare.
Yes, the above is a massive generalisation but many people need to think differently for the NHS to function in what, for a variety of reasons, is a difficult time. Blaming this and that will make no difference. Thinking carefully about what you are demanding may.

    Some more interesting reading here

1.4m subscribers and 400k bikes sold.

Just think of the amount of unused rowing machines and exercise bikes there are in households already. I appreciate that there is a market for this but no where near the size required to justify the valuation.

$200m loss on $1bn revenue last year.
The IPO documents reckoned that they have a potential US market of 45 million households and globally 67 million. Just can’t see it myself.

Surely ANPR will have the Audi reg recorded on the way in and a penalty charge will be issued to the Registered Keeper for overstaying the maximum time?
That assumes that the Audi has the correct number plate on it.

Running 28mm GP5000s with standard tubes on my road bike. Had GP4000s before and the 5000s definitely roll faster and grip better. Not sure how they do it but it works for me.

Cutting holes in worktops is fairly simple. Proper joints take skill and experience. Check out some youtube videos but remember there is no such thing as a straight wall or a 90 degree corner.
If they are cheap worktops then practice on the old one before giving the real one a go.

Damn you OP! I’ve just spent 50 quid on stuff at PlanetX. The site limited my basket to 3 pairs of those rip off 5p socks that the silver tongued Brant linked to. Should I complain in another thread and create even more business for this terrible comapany?

I think another option is to go 12 speed for less than the cost of an X0 cassette and range extender. This keeps all the current 11 ratios the same but adds a 12th 50t bail out gear.

MotoGP.com app is now available on Fire TV and Stick. You can set it to No Spoiler mode and it stays that way unless you change it. I have used it, via PC and Phone, for around 5 years and was very pleased when they got rid of shouty Nick Harris as the volume and intensity of his voice bore no relation to the on screen action.

Before you even look at it ask for proof of when the cam belt was last done. This is a £500 job that needs doing every 4/5 years so will have a large impact on the value of a 17 year old van.

Assuming that it’s a Small, CRC are showing 4 in stock. If that’s correct then I’d just get another one and make them check it prior to sending.
Even easier, Wiggle are also showing stock so should be a case of collecting the damaged one and replacing it.

Green Motion are not to be used/trusted.
I fell foul of the hidden scrape under the front valance scam when hiring from their Gatwick outlet. Luckily for me I had excess cover and they reimbursed me. Interestingly my excess cover provider now specifically excludes certain Green Motion sites.
That said the admin charge is standard across hire companies and I can’t see how the OP can avoid it.

There are several Peer 2 Peer accounts that pay 5%+ on a 30 day notice account with your funds managed by them across hundreds of borrowers. Your risk is minimised and you can even wrap it in an ISA to save tax on the interest. Your £20k can earn you £1k of tax free interest for very little admin effort.

Well that’s 3 days of my life that I will never get back!
Finally got everything up and running on the new laptop but it was a mission. Plugging in the SSD from the old machine was a non starter. HP Sure Start stops you from starting up without the paired hard drive so a fresh install was the only way to go.
HP Sure Start also stops you booting from USB so that is something that I will be disabling.
I was amazed at how many updated drivers and Win 10 updates that I needed. They took ages to install, one Win 10 update had to be left running all night.
Office 2010 installed as a 30 day trial but transferring the User Profile was not exactly simple and once I got that sorted it took 8 hours to download 10,279 emails dating back to 2017. We did not want those old mails. I can only presume that they were still on the server even though they had been deleted from the old laptop. I then had to spend £7 on a one time use Office 2010 key which I am sure will get me berated by some who have contributed to this thread but I am comfortable with it.
Minitab is not getting installed as we can’t justify the cost for the amount of use it will get.
Thanks for all the assistance and most of the comments.

Having spent the afternoon checking my moral compass I tied Mrs 24k to a chair and shined a bright light into her eyes. I then poured petrol all over her and asked if she really needed any of the programs other than Office 2010 whilst I menacingly played with a lighter.

Through hers sobs I have ascertained that she does not need Minitab and the database runs on Office 2010. The database did not work properly on later versions of Office and she is not sure why. At this point I dropped the lighter as my thumb was getting sore……

Luckily it went out before it hit the petrol so we took Cougars advice and ran Magic Jelly Bean. I now have all the licence keys we need so thanks for the assistance.

Can anyone help with advice on removing petrol stains from laminate flooring?

Very normal for winter rims to be smaller so that’s not unusual.
Tyre sizing confuses the hell out of most people as it is a mash up of metric and imperial measurements with the height element expressed as a percentage of the width.
Eg 225/50 16 is 225mm wide, the side wall height is 50% of the width measurement (125mm) and it fits on a 16 inch rim.
Most Owners Handbooks list the allowable sizes and usually show a winter fitment.

    I`m calling bullshit!

You have 18 years of research in an office 2010 DB? So where did the first 10 years worth come from?

Charming! Ever heard of field notes or earlier versions of Office? This research started in 2002 and went from 35mm slides and paper notes to computers during that time so please forgive me if I am a little unclear on the origins and elements of various software.

Also remember this is not my laptop or research and Mrs 24k might have a Phd. but she is less computer savvy than me and I am not exactly Bill Gates. She could tell you all about the reproductive cycle of marine mega fauna but struggles with the concept that the Google browser and search engine are 2 different things.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will look into the Virtual Machine option for testing purposes. To be honest some of the other suggestions are way beyond my skill set.
Also a bit of searching has pointed me in the direction of plenty of sellers of an Office 2010 key for less than a tenner if I do have to do a clean install. Before I get accused of doing anything underhand, I would like to point out that I have paid for this product and if I had not “upgraded” from Win 7 to Win 10, I would be able to transfer it FOC.
I suppose this is my main issue as Win 7 and earlier allowed me to transfer relatively simply at no cost. Win 10 originally offered Laplink free to users but now it’s £31.95.

Thanks for your posts Cougar. We have multiple backups of the data on various external drives, Google drive and even Bluray discs. There is also a cloned HDD copy of the entire drive that I update weekly as I replaced it with an SSD sometime ago.
I was hoping just to pop that SSD in the new laptop which also has an I5 processor and is an HP machine. My hope was I might need a few updated drivers but it may be more complicated.
I know that the best option is just to run with a clean install on the new machine but to be honest I am not confident that the database will still work as it did not when I tried to export it to a later version of MS office.
I have now been informed that although it would be nice to have Minitab, it isn’t really necessary to maintain the database.
I appreciate the comments regarding moving software and realise that most people mean copy rather than move.
New laptop arrives this week so I will try the various options with cloned drives of both the old and new machine so that I can always go backwards.
As and aside it appears that you may have to turn System Restore on when you upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10.

System Restore disabled or greyed out? Turn On System Restore in Windows 10

Blimey, look what I’ve started ;-)
Thanks for the replies. For the sake of clarity we are not trying to duplicate the software on both machines. The old laptop has a dead touch pad, 2 knackered USB ports, a keyboard that has worn out and a penchant for locking up. It was migrated from Win 8 to 7 when new and then to Win 10. It is off for recycling.
Her database was custom written using various bits of Office 2010 and stuff that I don’t pretend to understand. It contains 18 years worth of research that cannot be replicated so the thought process was not to take any risks. From memory previous laptop changes were far easier with XP and Win 7 using microsoft easy transfer which is not part of Win 10.
The nicking a bike analogy is a bit wide of the mark in my eyes. It is more like taking an expensive set of wheels off a knackered bike to put on the new one.
As for tax payers money…. My wife was entirely self funded from her earnings including paying for all of her University fees of around £25k without the aid of a Student Loan. As you can tell I am still slightly touchy about that as I had the funds earmarked for a mid life crisis car :-)
It looks like my safest course of action is to clone the old hard drive and try putting it in the new machine and see what happens. Worst case I take it out and then attempt other options.
I was hoping to get a recommendation for a transfer tool that actually works.

Thanks for the replies. Some of the essential software was installed by the University IT dept. For one program a single use licence for an individual is around £1300 and that goes way beyond a labour of love in someones free time. There is no financial benefit for Dr 24k, she just has a strong sense of commitment to the particular species she studies.

In a previous life I was the Arai Sales Rep for London. I dealt with the European training arm and also the factory in Japan.
The outer shell of most composite ie not plastic helmets will not be the issue. Arai used to leave shells outside the factory and test them 15 years after manufacture with no real degradation. The problem is the inner expanded foam liner as these break down due to a variety of reasons including human sweat. Once the helmet has been worn for a couple of years of normal use the liner will start to break down and lack of use will not stop that process. With that in mind Arai recommended replacement every 5 years or a maximum of 7 years if you are a very light user.
Think of the liner as your shock absorber that has gone rock hard. In an accident the outer shell will perform acceptably but the liner will not dissipate the force as well as it should. The force will then travel to your head/brain. Will you be killed or seriously injured? Only one way to find out.

    Forget APR, Flat Rate etc

TAP is the only way to compare. Total Amount Payable adds all the fees, interest, deposit and repayments up to give you the figure you actually end up paying over the entire term.

At the £4k end of the market a 0% credit card with NO Fees is the way to go if the retailer will accept it. Take your pick:

    https://www.money.co.uk/credit-cards/0-purchases-credit-cards.htm?track=290073&creative=251824801365&network=s&placement=&adpos=1t3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2cmNnJvv3QIVCuR3Ch2oIAT8EAAYAyAAEgKi-fD_BwE

The best way is to spend £4K on a card with the best rewards/cash back and then balance transfer to the 0% card.

I put 2 spacers on the chain side and none on the other to get a better range of alignment when I went 1×11. This was on a Hope HTII BB and everything has been fine.
