I downloaded the COVID-19 Survey by Kings College London App early on and have contributed every day. As part of the study I was invited to have a Swab Test in The 02 car park. Not a pleasant experience but it is all data for the study.
It takes less than a minute each day and more than 3.5 million people are contributing. They are currently seeking funding via individual donations to raise £1m.

You can’t have it both ways.

Paying yourself a small wage and taking the rest in dividends is usually done to avoid tax. These people can’t then expect to get bailed out as if they had paid themselves a decent wage because they choose not to.

GP5000 rolls faster than 4000 and has more puncture resistance. I ride N Kent lanes with 28mm GP5000 but some of those lanes would be uncomfortable in a Monster Truck!
The tubeless version is heavier due to its thicker construction but works well at 80 psi on a ghetto tubeless set up.

Mrs 24k is a GP Pharmacist and is currently spending more time dealing with people that want their meds early “just in case” than doing her normal duties. She is also getting requests for inhalers from people that haven’t had them for 3 years. This spike in demand is causing shortages for those who actually need them on a day to day basis. The majority of Inhalers are made in Italy.
The message is that in these extraordinary times there will be shortages but the supply chain will be severely compromised if everyone tries to get their meds early.

Given the choice of no ventilator or two footballs joined with some garden hose, connected to a Camping Gaz regulator and a J cylinder of welding oxygen, I would choose the Heath Robinson Mk1 over nothing.

The banding is based on the purchase price of the property, if you got a good deal or your neighbours got shafted then it will be reflected in the band.

Incorrect, the banding was based on the valuation of the property not the purchase price. In England and Scotland the relevant date is April 1st 1991, and in Wales it is April 1st 2003.

I live in a road of 13 identical houses and did not find out until much later that one on my neighbours had appealed the original banding, had it reduced and not told the rest of us. Let’s just say that they didn’t get invited to many social events once the news was out.

You had the option at time of booking to take the loss yourself if you cancelled. You selected that option in return for a lower room rate.

MDF skirting is a nightmare if it gets chipped and then slightly damp. It’s really difficult to sand, prime and paint as it just keeps blooming. There are specialist primers and paints but it is less time consuming to just replace it whilst taking really special care to seal any cuts.
Water based satin paint on wood is the best long term solution.

    Planet X Pump

Works for me on both MTB and road tyres. I have a compressor in my garage but I use this pump more as I don’t have to faff with presta/schraeder adapators.

If you don’t trust them, find another Tradesman. Maybe not some random bloke hanging around outside Wickes drinking a can of Monster Energy.
Be sensible and always use trusted recommendations from people that you actually know rather than an online trade checker that is paid for by the potential thief/pervert/smoker/half day worker.

Non supplying Dealer is unlikely to welcome you with open arms. Warranty work pays dismal labour rates so most will claim that they have to prioritise their own customers when it comes to workshop time.

In my limited experience Ghetto tubeless conversions are a load of initial faff followed by a period of satisfaction when you finally beat the system by achieving an air tight seal that you know will slowly deflate over time. The deflation time increases dramatically if the bike is not ridden.
My latest conversion revealed 7 punctures in a tyre that were not an issue with a tube fitted and how porous the side walls of a (non tubeless) Conti GP5000 are. I am now at week 3 of regular wheel rotation and re inflation on my rear wheel. The front is finally air tight after 3 months of riding, rotation and re inflation.
It’s a case of keep blowing up whilst sucking it up unless you have tubeless rims and tyres.

BA and Emirates extra charge for choosing a seat prior to online check in is the reason I now use American or Delta for US flights and Qatar for flights east.
I booked a 4 sector trip with AA and was able to choose seats, at no extra cost, all the way through at time of booking except for the last sector which was a code share operated by BA. BA wanted £39 per seat for that flight.
Always check the seat configuration of your flight on seatguru.com before deciding where to sit especially if you are paying for the “privilege”.

Greenmotion are a franchise operator and the individual outlets have been known to have some questionable business practices. My own excess insurer specifically excluded 2 named Greenmotion outlets a few years ago.
I was caught out by the Gatwick site with a scratch under the front of the car that the staff member obviously knew about as it was the the very first thing he went to upon my return. Luckily my insurer repaid the £300 within 7 days of my claim.
Personally, I would never use them again but if you have good excess cover, the time to deal with the claim and a camera capable of taking hi res images under a car in a muddy car park, then go for it.

    Here’s the regs;
Guidance Note 65 to regulation 6(3) of GSIUR states:
“When an appliance is disconnected and open-ended pipework is left, the pipework should always be left sealed with an appropriate fitting. A self-sealing coupling, e.g. on a cooker connection, does not need to be capped-off, except where there is a significant risk of interference (such as by a child). However, it should be checked that any disconnected coupling is not leaking gas (see paragraph 68), and any wall- mounted connector has been installed in the downward mounted position to prevent dirt or grit getting into the self-closing seal.”

You can fit a Blanking Plug if it makes you feel more secure.

You could also get a Gas Safe chap to cap the pipework and completely remove the bayonet hose.

I don’t think that the OP’s Mother should have cleared the house as that should be dealt with by the Executors of the estate. It is the Executors responsibility to ensure that all assets are distributed as stated in the will and the OP’s Mother has been put into a position where she had the opportunity to take a few “mementos” that make up what is in effect the property of the RSPCA and The Priest once probate has been granted.
With the info that the OP has provided in mind, I think that many people would feel his Mum was not the worst person ever if she did help herself to a trinket or twelve.
With that said I would definitely take some advice regarding the RSPCA and the Priests possible involvement in the drafting of the will. Especially if it was left directly to the Priest rather than the church.

Wow that sounds like terrible service from Sky and very different to my experience.
I started to get almost daily drop outs when my Sky Broadband was upgraded to Fibre. I contacted Sky 6 times over the last few months and not waited more than 3 days for an engineer visit from them. Once they realised the fault was with the cables outside my property, Openreach were involved. It has taken several visits to fix the issue but I have never waited more than 48 hours for Openreach to attend.
My drop outs usually lasted a minute or so and I was never out of service for more than 5 minutes at a time. I normally contacted Sky via their website. Defo time for the OP to take this further and do not allow them to fob you off.

Well, despite my earlier reservations, it appears that the zero rating can apply to certain accessories fitted at point of sale. My source is a Company Director of a Franchised Dealer that sells a lot of helmets with intercoms fitted.
Every day is a school day.

I just had a look on the website of the equivalent, in the Motorcycle world, to CRC/Wiggle. I put a Shoei helmet and a Shoei specific intercom in to my basket and there was no reduction in VAT. Granted it was not actually fitted but this leads me to believe that this scenario is open to interpretation.
If the retailer fitted a tinted visor at time of sale and left the originally supplied clear one in the box, should VAT be charged on the tinted visor?

    Matt24k

I think that you will find that the Helmet and fitted Intercom would have to be supplied to the bike shop as a boxed unit by the whoever invoices them in the UK.
I know for a fact that when a retailer buys a helmet it is invoiced by the supplier at 0% but any visor ordered in addition to the one fitted is 20%. If the helmet comes from the manufacturer with an alternative visor in the box the whole package is 0%.
The bike shop will have a suppliers invoice with 0% VAT on the helmet and 20% on the intercom as I imagine they would be sold as separate items. I think the VAT rules that you are looking at are for suppliers of complete systems rather that things that are added together at point of sale.
For example you could by a helmet and several visors along with an intercom system and pay no VAT if your interpretation is correct.
I would love to be wrong as I will be flogging helmets at the Excel Show next month and could help my customers save some money on spare visors.

Amazon This one seems to have good reviews.
I have done a few Aqualisa cartridges recently and at £100 each I wish there was a generic to try. Check any o rings in the shower valve that are not part of the cartridge assembly but bear in mind some are really tricky to remove without damaging them.

11 speed is simple. As mentioned above check the max size front chain ring you can run, especially on a full suspension bike.
You did not mention the crankset that you are currently running but many can be single ringed although you will probably need shorter chain ring bolts.
All you need except the front chain ring and bolts linky
