I sold my Cotic Soul after I injured my back and now have a Croix De Fer and Cannondale CAAD 10. I miss the weekends away in the Lakes and Wales and would have it back tomorrow if it wasn’t for my back.

    Another vote for Kayal.

I went to Oottupura on Burleys Way last November and it was very nice, cheap and cheerful!

Nerja or Torre Del Mar East of Malaga, cheap resorts with loads of riding in the mountains behind them. A stage of the Vuelta passes round there too,

If you pick up Route 654 up at the back of the Bike Park and ride through Bilsthorpe you can pick it up again and ride all the way to Southwell off road. With a nice pub at the end too!

If you’ve got a cyclocross you could ride to Ladybower and ride round the reservoirs up to Slippery Stones and back down the other side.

I had discs fused in 1991 and another op. In 1995, everything was fine i was riding the Peak without any bother until last September. Over Christmas i was in agony, never had pain like it, turns out i had some fragments from my previous op’s pushing on a nerve.

Had an injection to block the nerve late January and i’m just getting back to normal now, riding again etc. With just a slight numbness in my right foot.

It does get better just takes time and patience. Good luck with it, the boredom is worse than the pain sometimes!
