    I got some custom decals done for my new Patrol through Creation Cycles in Nottingham as it was a reduced ‘cosmetically damaged’ frame. Wasn’t the shop directly but the chap who works there was able to get the frame done via a friend who works for a MX decal company, think he said he does some of the Red Bull race graphics etc. They were able to offer loads of colours and looks really pro. 6 months in and lots of riding, lots of mud and lots of washing the decals are as good as new. Great service and highly recommend. Price was part of the frame but think it was around £70 for the full frame including fitting.

    cheers for the feedback all.

    @Davros
    you can get different colour decals for them on the Stans website. I too am not keen on the stock graphics but they do them in a very dark grey which should look smart on the black rim, that’s what I’m getting anyway.

    Slice of wholemeal toast drizzled in olive oil. Smash an avocado up with a bit of chopped fresh chilli and some black pepper. Spread on toast. Top with a couple of poached eggs. Then a bowl of porridge topped with some fresh fruit, small glas of orange juice, large coffee and then keep sipping water on the drive out before a ride. I usually drive to riding location so its well over an hr before I start riding after necking that lot!

    Any info on when this phase of forestry work is due to end? Not been up since end of last year. Been avoiding due to the felling mainly. Keen to get up there and clear bits out once it is safe/worthwhile. Also does anyone know if there are plans to move works over to Redbrook side soon as well?

    Ah cheers, I will check the level in the damper. Just checked and the compression damping isn’t working either so sounds similar. Did you also have the rebound knob spinning beyond the usual number of clicks?

    Good feedback, cheers. Any problems putting them up tubeless? Thin spank do their own rim tape if i remember correctly?

    Not looking for any extra comfort really as its a 150mm FS. Beginning to wonder if it might feel more balanced with shorty front and rear..

    Have you checked the rear mech? Is it Sram?
    My XO1 rear mech started creaking after about a yr. Try gently wiggling the cage from side to side and see if it makes a noise? Would explain why you only get the noise when peddling and not upon rear compression. Solved mine by giving it a good clean and drench in chain lube, especially around moving parts where it pivots and around the clutch seal. Think there are threads on this particular problem and it may be the clutch mechanism which can be stripped down with care but its pretty fiddly.

    If Matthew Morgan makes it into the final squad (which he should do) and gets the chance he deserves then I think he is going to surprise A LOT of people who have not seen him play before/heard of him 😉

    With regards to pavements being footpaths I get that the law is the law, but, there are a couple of places that I ride mtb where a long windy hill climb on a road has a pavement next to it. I must have ridden there 40-50 times and never seen anyone walking on the pavement. The road is however quite busy, fast and pretty narrow. So the question is although I’m breaking the law by being on the pavement I am infact causing much less danger to road users by not wallowing around at 5mph and causing everyone to slam on their brakes as the fly round the corner. If there was an alternative off road route i would always use that, but there is not. IF i saw a walker one day when doing this I would dismount and allow them to pass.

    +1 for Sudocream. Always used to get raw knees on long rides. Never had so much as a tickle in over a yr of using it. Apply plenty front and back and prepare for sidelong looks in the car park!!

    WUL cuts grease so if you have spent time applying wax to your car using WUL will remove this and leave it unprotected.

    Few months ago i had a dream that I was riding round the woods pulling perfect wheelies! I went out for a ride a couple of days later and found my wheely technique was loads better than before (although still not as good as the dream!) It felt much more natural finding the balance point as I had ‘learnt’ to experience this in my dream! Dead serious

    I’ve got my Cove Stiffee frame up for sale at £155 if your interested? Was my only bike for three years, good do it all bike that can be built up accordingly but with the emphasis generally leaning towards fun!
