there is a specific vice-tool which sits inside the ring drive and undoes with leverage from the wheel.

good bike shops should have them.

where are you in the uk?

Threads don’t really deform to any great degree but if pedals go in dry, the 2 different materials can begin to bond and when you unwind them they’ll take a little alloy with them.

Tapping them out is the best place to begin.

Its unlikely Sram will deal with you directly.

send it back to where you bought it and they’ll deal with the warranty.

clearnace is tight for cruds but please believe me when i say, the most surprising thing about the frame is its comfort. we did 50mi the other day and i got off feeling fresh!

i run spacers to allow me to use the drops and to cover long distances without needing neck surgery!

the headtube on the Storck is 115mm and i have 32″ and a bit legs so need as much front end height as is sensible.

13.4 lbs without pedals for my storck.

I’m 5’7″ and weight under 11st so it is a fairly small frame!

only trouble i’ve heard of is with the knock-off’s on ebay.
There are lots of fakes about, slk posts, kforce bars and dodgy “carbon matrix” slk + ritchey carbon stems.
seen a good number of failures!

the stems look so fake and yet people still buy them….

My best advice is to bypass the “great deals” and try some on. the best value shoes are ones you have for years without soreness or pain.

there is a big market for custom as i’ve found out and many manufacturers do have glaring holes in their sizing range.

i think that as long as the tubing is quality, the build good and the service efficient then you should do well.

i’d be tempted to try one for sure.

if it is a cx chainset (road) then you won’t need spacers at all. only on mtb set-ups.

They had a recall a long time ago where the left bearing was manufactured too small and they simply swapped the offending bb’s out.

yours will have an identifying code somewhere and if you call the shop you bought it from they should be able to sort it no problem.

28t might be as far as you can go.
you mightt find that in certain combinations the top jockey wheel buzzes on the lowest sprocket with anything like a 30t

whatever happens, should you buy off the peg or get a fit such as the Cyfac postural system, do not buy according to a height or size chart.

Size charts do not give consideration to proportions. if you have very long legs for your given height, you will need to look at individual manufacturers geometry to see if that bike has a long headtube/short toptube for its given size.

also disregard the size printed on the frame, this will mean a wide range depending upon bike brand

    send it back!

    no knurling, no loctite.

its a brand new frame and its wrong so they’ll either credit you or swap it out.

cube have proved to be one of the best warranty departments i’ve ever dealt with.

it amazes me how shops take the attitude of “we don’t sell them so they’re crap”
