not stalking just a frequent STW user!

If you get a chance, drop em in and we’ll get them back to Paligap.

I was about to say the same thing. Cycle to work doesn’t usually go with sale bikes.

surely a more important thing is fit? a felt f5 is a lovely bike but if you have long legs then theres no point.

I give high praise to Mike at switchbacks for organising a fantastic week a few months back. Great riding with a guy who knows all the local trails and is also an awesome rider himself!
Had a great laugh in the evenings and loved every minute of the guided rides during the 4 days we rode.

    I have this:

    for sale at the moment.

It might be perfect as it has sliding dropouts so can take either 24 or 26″ wheels and either gears or as a single speed. sorry if this comes across like i’m trying to flog you a frame but I thought it an ideal opportunity!!

Have you got a link lummox?

it would be unfair to have a go at them. My first question would be how old is the wheel?

I’ve once replaced spokes and others have gone soon after. The fatigue life of the metal (be it spoke or nipple) may be nearing the end and will manifest itself with spoke breakage.

the other thing is that when a spoke snaps an awful lot of stress gets dispersed through the wheel in ways that aren’t intended.

agreed with trying Brandon country park too.

Parking there is much cheaper although at weekends it can be very busy. The trails are less used and as a result smoother and faster with some nice techy, flowing sections.

    calm down dear!
it would have been better if he’d made small talk but its hardly the end of the world.

judging how you caught him up each hill he might just be pleased to keep up with a fellow cyclist for a while.

I sat and built some enve’s last weekend. that was good fun!

and the newer generation 105 and ultegra mechs work on a different cable pull ratio to your 9 speed too….

supposedly an anti-dive thing under hard braking.

The second picture of the blue/yellow bike somehow manages to look worse than the initial picture!

i’m with you on that. I would love a 160mm frame that runs a crank based gearbox more for the fact that its all contained away from major dirt and muck.

I wouldn’t personally recommend cutting the seat tube down as this will also require you to cut another slot. Not rocket science but if done poorly then you leave yourself open to frame failure. Not sure how many shops would take on this sort of work either,

Take this as you will but there is no way a frame should be that far out. I had a kinesis with a seat tube that measured 27.4mm and despite all my best efforts the seat post would continually drop. I’d like to bet that if you persist with the frame you will find the same thing happening. I can understand the internal dimension increasing further down the seat tube but this should not be the case for the first couple of inches.

I feel a last minute stans-ing coming on!

Little hd camera is now also packed along with a wealth of spares and my thin buff to keep the sun off my neck.

Do they have a pool in bubion?

I’ve bought a couple of endura burner tops which are 3/4 length but also have sun cream to go with.

I was considering going tubeless using a stans kit but considering that its only next Wednesday, I think it might be unwise!

i’m not overly worried about the super tackies as I can take a spare pair of conti’s and i’m a fit little bugger on the road!

i’m pretty sorted with electrolyte, nutrition and Spanish translation for “4 beers please” !

I’ve not yet done the foreign riding thing (and i’m long overdue) so cannot wait!

    Bubion is the one!
I’ve heard good things about beer and tapas but great idea practising the switchbacks!

do you guys think i’ll need mozzy spray/skinsosoft?

think i’ll bolt on a 200mm rotor while i’m at it.

you don’t need tape to secure the ends at the bottom, simply leave enoguh to tuck into the end of the bar, followed by the bar end plug to secure it.
disregard the crappy strips of tape they give you anyway, use decent electrical tape

Sizes mean nothing. A 52cm or a 54cm frame can be bigger than the given number, smaller or both can actually be the same size. It’s also not just a height thing, if you have long legs, you’ll need to look more closely at geometry. Go see a bike shop

It’s a TT bike so comfort is low on the list of priorities

You haven’t done this before have you!?

comfort is key for the ability to put out high wattage constantly.

unless you’re Mr Spaghetti, a drop that large may only be for short 5 mile sprint tt’s. good luck on 25’s!!

Just an odd perspective I think. I can see where they’re going with it though. Do you reckon now and again that wheel will get a wobble on and will need a kick like a trolley!?
